Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.

I loved how it stayed true to the original and upgraded it ideally. When I first heard the research sound bit just like the ones I remembered in the first Master of Orion but with a more richer 3D like surround sound I joyfully grined more than I have in maybe a decade and that russian like accent on the female lead researcher just tickled every juvenile feeling I have in my core. Then when I started my games first new Colony I heard the tune exactly like the one from my young teenage years in the early 90's, but with a beautiful graphics update, I was overjoyed. The rest of the game is also taken the best from all the previous gaming generations of MOO and combined them perfectly: sound from original. buildings from Orion 2, and even more updated graphics of Master of Orion 3. Also love the adaptability for less powerfully computers or more hands on playing styles.
I'm not opposed to change and innovation, especially if it makes a game better. Unfortunately this is not the case here. I will say right off the bat, the game is still enjoyable. First off, I'm not at all a fan of space lanes. I can appreciate that it adds new tactical elements to the game and allows for choke points. Second, where did freighter fleets and extra solar system trading go? This makes establishing early colonies and growing them ridiculously slow. Play a game of MoO2, the freighter fleets are sorely missed. Synthetic/Android population has been removed. Again, painfully missed when growing and expanding an empire. The space combat is just, well, unit control is pretty terrible The move away from turn based combat did nothing to make space combat more enjoyable. Removing the option of boarding/capture parties is sorely felt, The camera controls are borderline awful. No tech gains from salvaging opponent ships or capturing their colonies. I'm glad they introduced a more refines spy system, yay. However dismantling enemy ships and capturing enemy colonies was a great and realistic way to try and catch up to stronger foes. You can change the victory conditions, but if you don't notice... the game is actually too short, forcing a winner as the game is getting good. The lack of Hall of Fame and high scores are missed. It would be nice if you could change the end game settings and 'save' them so you could quickly and easily play at your preferred game setting. On the up side it is pretty and when it is not being buggy it plays fairly fast and easy.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 11: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

absolutely BONKERS!!! I've put 400+ in the game. You can micro manage as much as needed or as little as possible. Great way to kill a months worth time.
Update: I reverted to the original version and it works great. Just unable to use mods. If the game doesn't work for you try reverting to the original version. This game should no longer be sold. I bought a new computer and now the menu screen won't load. I have tried every trick listed in several forums and nothing works. Looks like I am not the only one... It's too sad. This is one of my favorite games.
A good version of Masters of Orion although the AI goes from too easy to impossible, which is frustrating. I miss some of the action of Masters of Orion 2 but the graphics are way better. I am not keen on how you take command in the ship battles.
One of the most under appreciated remakes ever. Michael Dorn.....Great music and atmosphere. Really only let down slightly by an uninspired UI. This will give you hours of fun if you approach it with the right attitude :)
The game is fun if you're a fan of the older games. I've played for almost 282 hours at the time of this review. I gave up on controlling combat a long time ago as I feel that is the games weak point. I'll just do auto battle determination or watch it in a top down view. I also don't do any ship building myself, just auto design when new tech is discovered. Even with the lack of some of the things I enjoyed most about MOO2, the game is entertaining and I keep coming back to it. The mod system adds additional play time IMO.
Its watered down moo, but its moo. The only change I absolutely don't agree with is movement by links, which is a big change. Tactical combat feels better in Moo2, and I personally think they need to stop real timing evereything. The moo2 system was much better.
Very fun, did a great job modernizing the classic and keeping true to the series. There are a few significant differences, mostly good. Must get the Unofficial Code Patch mod from the workshop and follow it's installation instructions to fix a few clear, not huge but somewhat significant errors.
Basically, it's Moo2 remaster. Not QUITE as good or nostalgic as the classic game, lots of QOL updates and such. Kind of like Moo2 lite. It's a really good 4x for more casual tuned 4x players who want a little less micro than paradox offers.
