Lootun is different
Amazing game. Just so damn good. What I wish every auto-battler was more like. Best in genre. 10/10 This game is dangerous. If you are the right person for this type of game, obsession will create addiction. I often realise I spend many many hours strategizing, micromanaging. Whole weekends disappear. Entire afternoons are swallowed as I optimize loadouts, party setups, gear synergies etc. While that is all true, this game is also fantastic, for autistic or adhd people like us. It's build-crafting like you find in games like Diablo, poe etc but no pesky grind you have to click through or travel to. There is no story at all, there is no gameplay, just build crafting in intervals. When you think you hit the end game there's another hill to climb. And another. And another. It's amazing. And grueling at times. It goes from easy to very difficult towards the end. At 142 hours, I have just built the last building. I haven't fully upgraded. I have just reached the final end game. 142 hours to reach the last end game. At least I think it's the last end game but I could be wrong. :D I think the first few hours of the game felt a tad monotonous and repetitive but you can also mostly sit through because it's still an idle game for the most part. Once you hit high levels you have to put effort into creating good parties and stuff if you want to unlock new content as the difficulty rather starts to spike. A quick piece of advice: This game does not punish you for experimentation. Some synergies don't end up working properly but you will perfect them if you test things out more. Some classes seem less good than others but it could be that it's more difficult to figure out what their purpose is.

The game essentially involves managing "adventurers" (as I call them) from behind the scenes. The characters will fight without your input and you basically upgrade their gear, choose their different skills and what missions and such they go on. The only component of the game that will run offline is the resource gathers you acquire as you progress with upgrading different buildings. While offline your characters won't be fighting, and as such you won't progress any missions, you won't get any crafting items that require mission completetion, etc. Seeing as how you have to manage the characters and such to make any progress, its not that big a problem as I'll have the game open in the background, but it would've been nice if the characters ran offline too. Overall I do recommend this game for those that like this genre of game. It has some rough edges with certain things, but I didn't find them to be so bad I didn't want to play it anymore.
The game is so good I discovered what dopamine feels like, for the first time in my life, but I also discovered what happens to a brain from severe lack of sleep, so consider this a warning with 148 hours on record in 7 days I played the game actively for over 120 hours in a span of 6.5 days which is unhealthy, hope that gives you some idea what this game can do to you the game is cheap, and I paid x10 more for AAAA title and got less than 0.1 enjoyment per hour there so that is a comparison, but even comparing within its genre it's the top of the list if not the crown on it above what you'd think is #1 critical thoughts include: the pace is very well balanced so you don't get bored, can afk a little, there's plenty of variety, at the start I was just winging it and it worked, then build variety got pretty wide and more things are introduced through the game, then some strategy is added so you can no longer just send more damage and hope to win and you'd need to start reading and adapting, and once you get to the endgame you still have enough things introduced to learn some new tricks, but if you don't feel like it - the replayability is still there and climbing from the start with different approach may be interesting enough to play again P.S. I don't usually write reviews, but even Factorio did not steal so much sleep from me, I just had to warn other people
The best of its kind. Im roughly half way through the game at this point. At the same time im exited for every new unlock and optimisation I can do but also dread the day it will inevitably stop when I finish the game. I looked around a little and cant find one up to Lootuns Standard.
Oh look, a visualized spreadsheet. You adjust equipment, let the game run, come back to scrap almost everything, then repeat. Yawn. This isn't a game, it's a spreadsheet, and it's boring and samey.
