Kingdom: New Lands builds upon the award-winning gameplay and mystery of Kingdom by introducing an abundance of new content to the IGF-nominated title while maintaining the simplicity and depth that legions of monarchs have come to experience and enjoy.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Aug 27 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

You spend 90% of your time holding left or right running back and forth for literal hours to recruit a single unit at a time. It's a miserable experience. Why can you not refund structures? Why do your builders run towards enemies faster than your attack units? Why are units locked onto indestructible structures that you dont personally assign them too? The biggest sin of all though is why does starting a new game remove your prior bonus of starting with units if you played the level prior? God forbid you mess up on a first placement of structures because you can bet your ass that reset is going to add another hour onto the level as you try to build back up to what you had prior to your failure. Like a donkey kick in the teeth on top of already wasting your time failing the level originally.

This game has a ridiculous "auto-save" feature where one mistake/death sets you back to the first island. This wouldn't be so bad if you could just revert back to an old save but the developers feel the need to make their game unforgiving (instead of an enjoyable experience for all) and force players to practically start over (with the exception of what you built on the first island). There are 5 game modes: Peaceful, Easy, Normal, Hard, and Cursed. This unforgiving auto-save feature should be on Hard and Cursed only. Why we can't manually save on Peaceful, Easy, and Normal is beyond me. If I make a mistake, it would be nice to revert back and try again. The biggest frustration with this are the hermits. As you progress through each new land, you unlock unique hermits that grant you special upgrades to buildings. However, they can be taken by the Greed, and if you don't stop this, you'll lose them. You can't even go back to their island/hut and acquire them again for another cost. They're gone forever. You have to live with it, or start a completely new run. Developers need to understand not every single gamer wants unforgiving "Ironman" modes with permanent consequences and an auto-save that keeps them from going back. Yes, the option should be there for players who want it, but not all of us want to eat, sleep, and breath Kingdom: New Lands and play over, and over, and over, and over. Anyway, game is fun at first but there are a few negatives that put me at my thumbs down rating: 1. The auto-save with no manual saves is my biggest gripe, as mentioned above. 2. The games economy is absolutely broken. You can easily acquire gold, especially if you have (just 1-2) farmers. This part needs significant balancing. I'm not wanting to grind for gold for hours on end, but I also don't want mountains of coins pouring out of my villagers and overflowing into the river every 2 seconds, either. 3. The game does get repetitive after a few runs, and each DLC is pretty much cosmetic. Sure, some mounts have unique abilities, and even your monarch gets an ability (in some DLC). However, each DLC is the exact same thing. Build tower and wall, upgrade, defend waves of the same enemies at night, and destroy portals. It would have been nice if each DLC would have added new enemies, objectives, and/or quests. However, I'm just one thumbs down mixed within thousands of positive reviews. Do keep in mind, though, that each DLC does get more and more negative reviews. Likely due to point #3 above. While you'll probably enjoy the game your first couple of runs, it does get old very quickly and doesn't have high replay value. This could be remedied if the devs would just let us have our own unique manual saves so we can make mistakes, revert back, keep progressing, and just enjoy the game. And no... the answer is not "Peaceful Mode" only. I do want a slight challenge. Even if the games difficulty was based on one of the five modes, but then you made an additional selection for "Ironman." Just a thought.
AI villagers are stupid and trying to walk/run around the map, micro managing the buildings take MINUTES to go from one side of the map to the other. It's a waste of time.
Kingdom: New Lands enhances the Kingdom: Classic game by breaking the game up now into 5 different islands, each increasing in difficulty. Instead of destroying the enemy portals, now all you have to do is build your ship and travel to the next island. Kingdom: New Lands is the better version between the two and feels like the actual game, where Kingdom: Classic feels more like an initial concept demonstration.
ꨄ My rating: 9/10 ꨄ Pros: - Kingdom: New Lands is an improvement to Kingdom: Classic in every way, the graphics and soundtrack are still as good as the first game, and this one improves gameplay and available content by a lot, offering different islands you can explore and manage to get upgrades for your kingdom. - It feels less repetitive than its prequel as the difficulty in my opinion was significantly increased and the game felt much more punishing than the first one. - The variety of mounts and the added systems to the game made exploring much more rewarding. Cons: - Like the first game, the tutorial doesn't teach you much meaning certain actions like building too many defense towers can quickly deplete the ammount of archers you have available for hunting which if you're not prepared for, can make you struggle a lot especially if you didn't leave the current island when winter arrives.
Just makes you smile playing it. A simple yet captivating little game(hope that doesn't sound too pretentious). Just oozes a fantastical style that's hard to explain. And it pulls it off with pixel graphics no less. Oh, it also happens to be fun :) At least for a few hours here and there. 9/10
