is a very entertaining game, but you have to be mentally prepared for the boss battles because you have limited number of lives, and the bosses get harder the more you fight them; otherwise, it's a lot fun.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

TL;DR: I do not recommend unless you are absolutely starved for an old-school 3D platformer. Kao the Kangaroo looks charming at first glance. The visuals are colorful, clean, and pleasant, and there is a clear effort here to bring back a forgotten mascot platformer for a modern audience. I had been looking forward to this and genuinely wanted to like it, and I do feel bad being harsh because I’m sure the team put a lot of work into reviving this series. But unfortunately, the game itself just isn’t there. For a platformer, movement and controls are everything, and Kao never feels as smooth, tight, or satisfying as it needs to. The gameplay is about as basic as it gets: run, jump, punch, repeat. That kind of simplicity can work if the fundamentals feel excellent, but here they feel finicky at best. Maybe that was easier to forgive in older entries from 25 years ago, but by modern standards it feels rough and outdated in a way that is hard to ignore. The whole game has the energy of a rushed Wii-era movie tie-in or a juvenile mobile game. It often feels soulless, like it is technically checking the boxes of a 3D platformer without ever understanding what makes the genre fun. Most of my time with it felt less like I was enjoying myself and more like I was simply pushing through to say I finished it. The voice acting is also shockingly bad; easily some of the worst I’ve heard in a game from the last couple of decades. I understand that this is a Polish-developed game, but even giving it some grace, the performances are painfully unbearable, and the characters themselves are just as flat. Nothing about the story or cast gives the game much personality beyond its surface-level charm. The longer the game went on, the more its rough edges showed. Later levels especially felt less polished and less inspired than the earlier worlds, which only made the game feel more uneven as it dragged on. I was excited for Kao the Kangaroo, but it ended up being a major letdown. It reminded me of the disappointment I felt with Yooka-Laylee, but worse to be honest. There are glimpses of charm here, but not enough to make the experience worthwhile. Unless you are desperately looking for any 3D platformer to play, I really cannot recommend it.
Jos tykkäät Crash Bandicooteista tai Spyroista niin todennäköisesti tulet tykkäämään tästäkin
It's okay, but full of issues and bugs. Don't ever buy this game at full price ; it's not worth it. The strongest point of this game is the art style/graphics. Gameplay-wise, it's very basic ; there isn't much to it . You jump and punch a lot, and that's mostly it. There are some elemental puzzles here and there, but nothing outstanding. Personally, the voice acting and jokes are not very good, unfortunately . The issues and bugs are the worst part of it: clipping through geometry, either passing through or getting stuck ; endless falling into the void ; having to reset the whole level because you can't reset to the checkpoint only (the game keeps track of everything you did, at least) ; locked out from 100% because one gem doesn't exist. With all that said, it's okay. Don't bother 100% completing this game. Play it and enjoy it for what it is. Get it on sale if you want to play something that's not very challenging.
Przyjemna i lekka gierka do pochillowania.
Cute throw back to 90's 3D platformers, but with much better graphics. Enjoyed playing this with my nieces and nephews.
This game is beautiful! I love the story and especially Kao and Kaia! Please make more games with kao the kangaroo! 👍❤️😍
Ah, I do with there was a neutral review of if I would recommend or not. Kao the Kangaroo has great movement and combat mechanics, and the story was pretty solid. But, the voice acting in the game was VERY lack luster and probably would have been better off without it at all. So if you can't handle characters who are very unamused/monotone I would stay clear of Kao the Kangaroo. The progression through the story ramps difficulty pretty smoothly, and I didn't find myself getting stuck at all. Overall, 5/10 game, mediocre and could go with or without it.
