About
JDM: Japanese Drift Master is an homage to Japan, Japanese street racing culture and drift. It’s an open world, story-driven experience, blending Tōge (mountainous) serpentines, with narrow rural roads and vast highways leading to a modern cityscape. With licensed cars and robust tuning options it’s a drifting paradise come true!

Driving Models
Designed primarily for gamepads, JDM boasts two driving models to choose from: Arcade, suited for a more relaxed experience and drift beginners; and Simcade in which all assists are off, trading full control over the car for more skill requirements to manage drifting. Players can switch between both models at any time during the game.
Open World
Soak in the atmosphere of Japan with the fictional prefecture of Guntama, created through mixing real-life locations from all over the country. With over 250 km of visually stunning main roads, standalone racing tracks and instanced events, set across winding mountain passes, rural areas and the city's bustling streets, you’ll explore diverse landscapes featuring traffic, dynamic weather, and day-night cycle systems.
Licensed Cars
Sit behind the wheel of legendary Nissan, Honda, Subaru and Mazda cars. Tune them mechanically with new parts and then fine tune the details. Experiment with visual parts: from hoods, through lights to full body kit swaps. Adjust the suspension, wheel camber, gear ratios and more. Finally, paint the car however you like using a free pick color palette. You want underglow? It’s at your disposal as well.
Story-driven Campaign
Step into the shoes of a foreigner determined to make his mark on the Japanese drifting scene. Compete in 40+ narrative-driven events and additional sidequests against the top drifters in the area. Experience this journey through hand-drawn manga pages, which add a unique and artistic touch to the game.

It's a great game. I do love the story, it reminds me of Initial D, particularly when delivering sushi to the destination, similar to Takumi Fujiwara delivering tofu to Mt. Akina in his AE86 in the former. However, given the PC specs I have, I didn't like the fact that the game lags, even on medium graphics, so I had to play with the lowest graphics to enjoy the experience.
I don't know if it's being on the Unreal engine that makes this game sometimes borderline unplayable or if it's simply bad optimzation, but here's everything else it gets wrong: - The physics is absolutely atrocious and causes much frustration - AI is braindead - Sense of speed is very inconsistent from car to car. your starter car going 150 mph looks and feels super slow but one of the preset tuned cars you get feels super fast at only 70 mph - GPS doesn't work a lot of the time, feels generally very janky - Manga art is quite amateurish - Story is uninteresting and they censored some elements of it post-launch - Some mission objectives are wrong, like telling you to finish the race in under 2 minutes when the actual goal is to have higher drift points than your opponent. - Map feels very empty, barely any traffic. Creates an eerie sense of lonliness, especially noticeable in the big city area. Here are some positives: - Very pretty and detailed map - Car models look good and every car sounds awesome - Decent level of car customization, including interiors which was pleasantly surprising - All of the music is really good and fits the vibe perfectly Despite all this, I still like the game but overall it feels like an early access product. I would recommend it if the price of it was way lower.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3/day in the week to Jul 30 → 7.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Brilliant arcade-like drifter. I was so hesitant to pick this game up after the negative reviews saying about the drifting being poor etc. I personally haven't felt this. I spent a good chunk of my start in the drifting school, trying to learn the mechanics, and once you get it, you can pull off some real slick moves - It feels comparable to being the "badass chav" with the blacked out red Corsa in your local Tesco car park on a Saturday night - You're not really turning heads, but hell, you feel cool so who gives a -. It takes a good hour to get to grips with things, and you aren't able to properly drift modify your first car and understand the setup differences without having to go through an initial learning curve. Having some patience is key, and I can imagine this might be what is causing the negative reviews - It might be worth the developer looking into a more hand-holding start to the game to counter this, but also it's honestly not that complicated, its just going to take a little time. Personally I think JDM has a really well designed & large map, with some awesome drift spots. The graphics are really good, it has very good optimisation, and a very good amount of content for the price. The progression for example, how each car has its own level/unlocks, makes you crave wanting to collect them all and level them up. The level of polish to this game reflects a passionate developer, and the future updates look exciting. I wouldn't avoid this one, its worth giving it a go and seeing what you think - it went from me nervously buying this thinking it could be a complete tank of a game, to thinking i'm going to pour a tonne of hours into it...buying the DLC also as it is really reasonably priced. I guess it'll also scratch the drifters itch, and prevent you from going the real-life route - of blowing up expensive tyres and smashing into lamp posts in car parks. Think of it as a money saver(?)
Finished the game and wow, i am extremely underwhelmed. The game was buggy from the start, the AI is not fun to race against (besides the fact they drive like there is nobody around them and the cars weigh as much as a go kart which sends you flying at the smallest amount of contact) and the physics of this game are beyond awful. Such a well thought out map just to have the worst possible gameplay on it. The starter car they force you to start with is faster than any of the few possible other more expensive yet somehow worse cars (3 of which are the same exact chassis mind you) This from a balance standpoint feels terrible when you grind some money to buy a car you actually like, and its much worse than the car you start with. Holy air ball. The customization is extremely buggy, sometimes wheels spawn inside the hub / spindle of your car and you have to refresh the spacer/offset option to get it to appear correctly. The cosmetic parts are molded over the default car and isn't actually a changed part. on a chassis, its just a model overlapping the existing model and this makes certain bodykits look disgusting and extremely shoddy. I dont understand the style choice of having SOME cars licensed and named properly and others not. This makes half of the cars feel "counterfeit" and its awful from a game that's supposed to make you feel proud of the car you're grinding so hard to build. The STRONGEST point this game has is the story, and even then its pretty low quality considering the "story" is just a few images with text and a sound effect playing in the background because the developer was too lazy to try and animate anything of substance. overall 1/10. the coolest part of this game was focusing on one car, YOUR car. and they couldn't even get that right.
Game doesn't match the screenshots and videos. Also, the game is annoyingly hard for a stupid arcade game, learning curve is BS, even when you get the hang of it the events don't make sense, say for example the one where I have to stay within 25m that car while drifting is annoying and garbage when I can easily beat that car but "PLOT" is not a very beginner friendly. Also, the drift school was of no use and can go to hell, I thought it might give me a reward or something after grinding for so many hours just to complete the last drift school mission. Keep your game, I'll keep my mental peace.
Overall, the game is okay. I'm still going to play it, as it feels nicer than a lot of the other racing games in my library, but there are too many cons to ignore. The driving physics feel fine, maybe a bit too easy to oversteer at times, graphics are great, but the crash physics are horrendous, with every car being way lighter than they should be, and the AI are absolute ass at driving. Don't buy it for less than 50% off, but I would say its worth it around 70% off Also wheel doesnt work for me (g920)
