About

World War One expands to the mountains of the Italian Front - beautiful but deadly in equal measure. Take part in key offensives of the Great War, from the Sixth Battle of the Isonzo to the Strafexpedition, and lead your team to victory among the scenic landscapes and peaks of Northern Italy.
Isonzo is a realistic tactical multiplayer FPS crafted by BlackMill Games, known for their critically acclaimed authentic WW1 wargames such as Verdun and Tannenberg. Immerse yourself in faithful recreations of historical battles with intense 48-player matches, testing your tactical skills and mastery of Alpine warfare.

Decide your path to victory: whether you’re leading the offensive with grenades or using mountain trails to flank enemy positions, you have options. Dive into combat or take a supporting role cutting barbed wire and crewing heavy machine guns and mortars. Thanks to a unique flare gun system, mark targets for artillery strikes or biplane flybys, before charging in to finish the job at close quarters with bayonets or trench clubs.

Choose from six distinct classes and build your loadout from a selection of 50+ iconic WW1 weapons, along with historically accurate equipment and perks specific to each class. Play as a Marksman to pick off soldiers from afar, storm enemy lines with the Assault class, issue tactical orders as an Officer, and much more.

After choosing a class, make it your own by picking from a large variety of role-appropriate uniforms, accessories and headgear. As a finishing touch, you can even pick your mustache from several famous wartime styles!

From hillside fortresses to mountain trenches and city streets, fight through varied Alpine landscapes inspired by historical battles. Learn the lay of the land to maintain cover and surprise your enemies - or go a step further to shape a dynamic battlefield by placing sandbags, barbed wire and ammo crates. Trench periscopes and sniper shields offer even more tactical options, but beware of poisonous gas attacks and artillery barrages!

Taking inspiration from the years-long struggle for control of the Alps during World War One, Isonzo brings the authenticity of the conflict to all players. Everything is recreated based on research and field trips, from sound effects, weapons and uniforms down to the houses, vineyards and trenches you’ll be fighting over. Choose your side and immerse yourself in History!

Enlist for more First World War action with the other standalone titles in the WW1 Game Series: Gallipoli, Tannenberg and Verdun. Engage in expeditionary warfare on the Middle Eastern Front with Gallipoli, maneuver for control of key sectors in Tannenberg on the Eastern Front OR Dive into the trenches along the Western Front in Verdun. Choose from a range of squads from across the war, as they fight for control of the ever-changing frontlines.

Yo guys, lets split our game into 4 games actually, that wont run the community thin across all of them, nono! at least it has bot support i guess.
Best of the three so far in many ways. The "problem" is this insanely fun depiction of ww1 has been split across 3 soon to be 4 separate games, fracturing the player base. I am not a game dev but BlackMill should see what can be done about merging all previous games content into Gallipoli natively if your account has purchased it. I feel like actions similar to this would help the player base and have better incentives for players to purchase the back catalogue. Win win scenario

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Isonzo should've been a DLC. The gameplay, mechanics, and graphics are similar to the previous two iterations (Verdun and Tannenberg). I can forgive Isonzo for being a dead game; it's expected of such a niche title. However, if we're going to be honest, a lot of it has to do with broken or unpolished mechanics that are very off-putting, some which have existed since Verdun. It's somehow worse when you look at how in-depth and detail-rich the developer updates are going back many years, putting authenticity into this experience, only to drop the ball on the most important part - good and even gameplay. The reality is even if you're playing with other humans you're forced to play with bots, which are the single most broken thing about this game. Bots in this game have unrealistically accurate aim and instant spotting abilities that are game breaking and immersion ruining. You can't even limit or remove these bots in custom matches and still get achievements, challenges, and XP progression. It seems the developers don't want you to enjoy the game your way and they don't want to polish it. Figured I'd list specific issues with the game (in priority order): -Bots having instant detection and shooting, often not matching their player model -Imbalanced bot teams heavily favoring defenders on every map -Bots often don't fix broken HMGs, don't always spawn mortars, never drop ammo -There are no officer orders to fix HMGs or drop ammos -Bot animations noticeably speed up when vaulting through windows or over trenches making them hard to hit and breaking immersion. -Bots get stuck on each map, usually on the edges of the map or inside buildings. Bad pathing? -Bots spawning on top of objects, causing them to get stuck. This was way worse in older versions of the game. -No spawn protection
First: this game is quite fun. Good shooting, excellent maps, epic scale. It is not a bad game by any regards, in fact it is a good game. That being said, I do not recommend it for the sole reason that it is overpriced and the dev team - or at least the head of the studio - seems to be a complete idiot in that they continue to release FULL GAMES THAT ARE DIRECT COMPETITORS TO THEIR PREVIOUS GAMES and thus all of their games are basically dead already. I did not find a single server that stayed full all day. I did not find a single clan or guild that has a dedicated playerbase. I did not find anyone who actually knew the meta or really understood how to win consistently. There is no spirit, no culture, no life in the community - just mindless trigger pullers who are as ensorcelled by the WWi setting as I am. If you want an authentic, fun, lively WW1 experience, save yourself 10 bucks and go with Over the Top WW1 instead of this.
The greatest way to realize you are NOT, in fact, the main character. 10/10.
This company frustrates me. They put out a pretty unique game in Verdun and since then, they've been selling glorified game modes with new bells and whistles as new games. Not to undermine the work that goes into them, but you're appealing to a niche of a niche already and you're actively competing against yourselves? "Wishlist Gallipoli", this game tells me in the main screen. But why? So I can watch it die an unearned death like Verdun? Witness the stillbirth that was Tannenberg? Or get frustrated by the frankly baffling decisions that plague Isonzo? Broken spawns that can kill you as soon as you pop into the map. Attacker tickets restored to their full once they take an objective. The game relying on pitch-perfect coordination between classes, which is impossible in a game with a dwindling playerbase, where you solo-queue. If you luck out and end up on the attacking team, there's fun to be had. If not, you might as well only be playing for yourself and your account progression/unlocks, because you ain't winning. I want to love you, BlackMill. Stop slapping me away every three years.
Because of BlackMill Games incompetence to do the basic stuff in terms of offline / AI bots, I can't recommend this game nor Gallipoli which suffers from the same problems. - Bots can't level up, so they are always level 1 and limited to level 1 stuff so they won't be using locked content at all. - Bots can't appear as officers so no gas, artillery or anything of the sort can be used by the bots. - Bots won't fix things. - Bots know where you are 90% of the times even though they didn't see you. - Bots aim is a bit over the top. - Bots killing you barely 2 seconds after you spawned. Developer's excuse is that "this new engine, blablabla", just say it that you're incompetent in doing so. Why charging overprice for such downgrade game then? The game isn't bad, but because of this, it doesn't feel like a real world war I experience and the previous games when playing with AI bots. Also, AI bots are always better on the opposite side and useless while on our team, compared to Verdun and Tannenberg where they were just all bad but it was more enjoyable as they were using more tactics, weapons, grenades and stuff. 7/10 - Game itself 2/10 - Because of the above points, if you're interested only in pure PVP, you may like it nonetheless but those interested in playing co-op and/or offline, forget about it.
Isonzo is a fun arcade-feeling team fps game, with some flaws in both the game and community. The EU community welcomes new players with open arms, the only issue most players have is player picking officer roles and refuse to learn how to play the roles leading to frustration and sometime insults due to lack of role kick in the game. The non-existence of role-kicking was due to developers wanting to avoid people exploiting the system. Combat is faster and more reactive than Verdun and Tannenberg though with less variety of weapons yet more but limited flexibility with perk and roles. Team Balance wise is one of the largest issues, the game with newcomers usually ended up unbalanced as one team would be stacked with veteran who has more experience and aggressive playing style. In bugs and glitches including exploits is horrible as the developers have been refusing to fix it leading to players exploiting it. The glitch ranges from unlimited flare, invincibility to ending the match early. Not only were the exploitations bad, but the game also felt as if there was no anti-cheat as previous cases of cheating were only reported by players and some had to directly contact the moderator via third-party software. The current system of anti-cheat is bare minimum if it even exists. Furthermore, with the current hostility between devs and moderators against the player base, who had raised the issues to these days, were insulted and belittle by them. It was so bad that players and clans of EU community banded together back in April 2025 and reach out to the devs and mod team, this leads to nothing more than alienating players including those who have been playing the game since launch. I don't recommend buying the game unless it is on sale. Once Gallipoli hit the store, Isonzo community would likely die out just like Tannenberg. Last point is only for players from Asia. Isonzo community is dead in Asia and semi-dead Oceania. If you're playing from Asia, then EU and US are the only two places you could go. The connection has period of instability where you keep getting disconnected, this applies to both SEA and South Asian players.
After playing the game at the start, it comes to a point this game franchise is really is doomed. They have made 2 more games (and another one for some reason coming out this year) and all 3 have failed the test of time. The game is good yes, but for some odd reason they rather waste making a game for 3-4 years release it > game being alive for a year > dies What if, yall can UNITE all of those games together (make it possible to match all fronts in ONE GAME) rather then keep going at a standalone game for each front. I believe with unity of all fronts + some decent marketing yall can be a hard game to be next to squad/hell let loose etc genre. Until then, this is going to fail like the rest.
They need to combine these into one game and stop taxing the cosmetics so much. It's not looking good for the GREED allegations. I say this as a devout capitalist.
