Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Aug 26 → 0.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak is a rare prequel that successfully drags a legendary space-faring franchise down to the dirt without losing its soul. Set over a century before the original game, you lead an expedition across the dying, sand-blasted planet of Kharak to investigate a "primary anomaly" that could save your people. Instead of a massive Mothership in the void, your base of operations is the Kapisi—a colossal, land-crawling carrier that acts as your mobile factory, research lab, and heavy artillery. The gameplay brilliantly translates Homeworld’s 3D space tactics into a 2D desert landscape by using terrain height as a substitute for the Z-axis. Positioning your railguns on a high sand dune gives them a massive line-of-sight and damage advantage, turning the topography into a tactical puzzle. I found the persistence mechanic to be the most stressful but rewarding part; the units you build and the resources you scrap carry over from mission to mission. If you lose your veteran strike craft in a foolish charge, they’re gone for good, making every skirmish feel like a desperate fight for the future of your species. The atmosphere is where this game truly shimmers. The vast, lonely stretches of desert are punctuated by the haunting, Arabian-flavored soundtrack and the "unit chatter" over the radio—pilots checking their sensors and confirming kills with a professional, gritty realism that makes the world feel lived-in. It captures that specific Homeworld feeling of being a small, lonely fleet against an overwhelming, fanatical enemy (the Gaalsien). While the campaign is relatively short, it’s a tight, cinematic experience that provides the perfect origin story for the S'jet bloodline. 8.5/10. It is a stunning, grounded RTS that proves the spirit of Homeworld isn't about the stars, but about the journey of a lonely carrier fighting against the odds. It’s the best ground-based strategy game the series could have asked for. Watch the ridges, manage your power shunting on the Kapisi, and remember: the desert takes everything, but it also hides the key to the stars.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 11: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Game would be better if rachel would just shut up
游戏是好游戏,就是这个闪退真的遭不住
A worthy "2.5D" successor to the best 3D RTS series of all time. The design and aesthetics are right in line with previous entries in the series. There is a trademark sense of heft and realism to the units which I often find lacking in more cartoonish RTS's, as well as a sense of scale and scope in the levels. Although I prefer this game's spacebound cousins, this land-based entry in the series avails itself well.
A great Game, I like the Story! However it was to short, you want more after this. would be lovely if there where more stories comming
nope
Just beat the campaign on Normal and it is a refreshing take on RTS. Scratched my westwood interactive command and conquer itch. Like if they turned that one mode in Halo multiplayer with the big truck into an RTS.
Game seems to want to be tactical and focus on things like verticality, but unit controls are so slow and imprecise that actually getting units to behave is half the battle. Just maneuvering the big carrier around is incredibly painful. The standard camera is so claustrophobic given the gigantic nature of the maps that you spend the entire game in the sensor view which turns all your units into tiny little dots with no sound effects, which kind of ruins the spectacle. Also has a Company of Heroes style veterancy system for some reason, but most units die like flies in 2 to 3 shots so there's really no way to protect them, especially from the sensor map where you spend all your time and can barely distinguish between units. Story was actually interesting but I gave up about halfway through.
“A Solid Sci-Fi Strategy Worth the Journey” Game Name: Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟☆☆ (8/10) My Experience: 🚀 I picked up Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak during a discount, and given its strong reviews, it felt like a safe choice. I’m generally into strategy games, and the sci-fi premise immediately stood out. From the start, the game felt well put together and easy to get into. Gameplay: 🧠 At its core, it’s a solid real-time strategy experience. Unit management, positioning, and decision-making all feel meaningful, and the desert setting gives the game a unique identity compared to other strategy titles. The sci-fi atmosphere adds to the immersion and keeps things interesting throughout. Conclusion: 🎮 Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak delivers a strong strategy experience backed by a cool sci-fi premise. If you’re into strategy games, it’s definitely worth giving a go—especially if you can grab it on sale. Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟☆☆ (8/10)
If the original Homeworld and Dune had a child, it would probably look very similar to this. Good game, very classic RTS design. Definitely has the same "feel" as the original in how it plays. Good story, solid campaign (Get your expedition to the crash site and grab the relic before the Fremen overwhelm you). Music is amazing. Multiplayer is dead unless you have friends to play with, but the single player campaign is worth the playthrough. Any fan of the original will enjoy this one. PS: Yes, you will (and should) be salvaging as many frigates as you can. Oops, sorry. I meant "hacking" as many "cruisers" as you can.
