High On Life 2

After beating the game $65 is kind of crazy price tag id say wait for a discount then hop in its really fun don't get me wrong the price tag doesn't match the experience though "Do whatever you want" is insane to say to be honest

As someone who absolutely loved the first High on Life, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the sequel. And let me tell you, the game does not disappoint in the fun department. The story is as bizarre and hilarious as ever, and the new guns? Chef's kiss. The quirky characters, the weird world, and that same chaotic energy I fell in love with in the first game are all here and better than ever. I was having a blast, until my PC decided to crash the party. Here’s the thing, my computer definitely meets the requirements to run this game. We’re talking high end specs, here. But for some reason, High on Life 2 treats my rig like it's running on a potato. The game crashes constantly with fatal errors and lags like it’s trying to load the entire internet at once. I made it through the wizard boss fight only to have the game soft-lock on me, trapping me in some kind of glitchy limbo. So, I had to quit out and go back to the last checkpoint. Fine, whatever, I’ll do it again... but the achievement for beating the wizard never popped, because the game decided to pull a Houdini and lock me out of progress. Classic. I really want to love this game, but every time it crashes, I’m about ready to throw my PC out the window. Don’t get me wrong, the game is great when it’s working. But right now, it feels like I’m banging my head against a wall as even the last "patch fix" did nothing to fix the game. I would be more then happy to change this review to a glowing postive, once they fix these issues, but until then, it’s a hard “meh” from me.

Improved on the first one in every way, only complaint is that I wish it was longer!

very laggy frame rate problem, too much talking and waiting in the game loading screens take forever and every time you want to play you need to wait for 25000 building shaders, its not smooth like high on life 1 and the no kenny thing make me not wanna play i think we all loved the game because of morty's voice

I’m running High on Life 2 at 4K, 60 FPS with everything on Very High, using DLSS Quality, AMD Frame Generation, NVIDIA Reflex Boost, and V-Sync on—and the game looks incredible. Performance has been smooth and stable for me with this setup. One quick tip(s): don’t set Global Illumination lower than High. Anything below that makes the environments noticeably darker and kills a lot of the visual detail the game is capable of showing. Also turn off motion blur, chromatic aberration and set antialiasing to low for crisp sharp textures!!!!! Compared to the first High on Life, the sequel is a massive improvement in almost every way. The original game had a lot of charm and humor, but it could feel repetitive at times with long stretches of walking, backtracking, and slower pacing. High on Life 2 fixes that completely. The level design is far better, with areas that feel more purposeful and engaging. Combat is faster and more dynamic, and the pacing keeps you moving instead of retracing your steps constantly. The graphics are a big step up, with richer lighting and environments that feel more alive. The story and gameplay flow are also stronger this time around. The humor is still there, but it’s paired with a much better gameplay loop that keeps things fresh. If you liked the first game, this sequel takes everything that worked and improves it across the board—better visuals, better combat, better pacing, and better level design. Overall: a huge upgrade from the original and an easy recommendation.

i had been hyped for this game for quite a bit, and it did not disappoint me. to me it outdid HOL1 in many ways; the environment is endless and so detailed, the story felt well paced with plenty of side tracks and gags. just had some really good fun, basically. performance wise it could have definitely used some work. especially on optimization. had to take some measures to be able to run smoothly, and then it still ran lower than what should be possible with my specs. if issues with lag are a big dealbreaker for you, you might wanna wait for some updates. if you are not too iffy on it and wanna play an unserious game that'll make you laugh: i highly recommend HOL2! :]

Super fun, had several crashes (all managable), and beat the main game in 11 hours. hope theres a dlc where i can get kenny back and some kind of endless hunting where there feels like a reason to keep playing but hey super fun definately will play again
