The game itself is good and I really enjoed it, worth 15$. Here is the reason for negative review: 1. Updates frequensy - over time, the updates became less and less frequent. I have a feeling that it will continue like that, and at some point the game won't even be finished, or finished in a clumsy way. And that brings me to the next point 2. Updates quality - the development time of the last update was really long and it included big new zones to "explore". But unfortunately, there is not much to explore, because all these new zones mostly just big, with not much content inside. To comparison with release zones - they were smaller in size, but SO much better made. So it seems like the game development going into the phase, where it's good looking wrapper with not much inside 3. Discord cummunity - at some point some chat rooms became available only to chosen ones that pass "vibe check" from admins. Would be fine, if it included only development chat rooms, but lore rooms and fan art rooms were included there as well. At this point community died for me, ♥♥♥♥ this class separation system. This elite class can each others ballz on their separate elite island Feels bad to post bad rewiev for the game I cosider one of the best games 2025, but for me credibility time is over

The ai spotting me from across the map, in the dark, and gunning me down is a no go. Other than that I was enjoying the game
I CANNOT recommend the vame in its current state. To start, the game lacks an art style, opting for those bare-bones, common polygon mobile games you see on mobile games, alot of animatkons being extremely basic, goofy and just public assets, job quests either being vague for no reason or straight up lying to you for no reason, the game sometimes felt frustrating, I refunded the game after 3 hours and got my money back due to the fact a job quest lied about the location of a jammer and made my playtime longer than usual and they accepted my refund request. I cannot recommend dropping 30 bucks for an obviously extremely unfinished game where the quests are extremely vague or lying to you for no reason
Project Silverfish is an insane technical and artistic achievement for one person, but if I came for one thing especially, it's the lore and story, and sadly it's where the author's political bias (right or wrong) essentially takes control of the narrative and by virtue of being an indie game, of the content quantity & quality. The factions are all playable but aren't designed equal at all. This game takes obviously a lot of inspiration from STALKER but not only, of course, but in STALKER every faction's motive and reasoning could be understood so it could be better agreed or disagreed with. But in the case of Silverfish, uh.... One specific faction (The Revolution, whose leader is functionally unkillable by design) are presented as the hyper-objectively good guys, and all the others really just suffer from this bias. The NFTA and Insurectionists are essentially portrayed as Nazties in two different power scalings, and the other two are anecdotical. The bias doesn't belong in the game's world, and accidentally makes it feel like it's just a container for said bias. I feel this has caused a lot of wasted potential, because game design-wise, this IS AN EXAMPLE TO FOLLOW.
although this game upon purchase back in 2025 was worth it on first play and among other updates, i do feel like there are many other things that i just feel like are an issue both to the game itself and in a way, the community. SPOILER WARNING MAYBE 1) Replayability I know the game has an effort to try to have replayability, but there arent anything that makes it replayable other than the characters, which that in itself can have its own limits most if not all hidden spots are mostly in the same spots from different saves of different characters the code to some doors are also remaining the same, which can also cause the game to lose its first playability feeling when you realise that the door you spent the first time opening could just be open where you remember what the code is. 2) balancing all of the melee hostiles are very... rough, to say the least, you can simply evade them by running away and you can cheese them incredibly easily, making the hostiles with guns the real danger, people can go say it is a balancing thing, but it shouldnt go for a fact where monsters can just become cheesed and one tapped by one sledge hammer. 3)lesser frequent update i know this may not be necessarily the dev's fault when theres a lack of updates for whatsoever, however i do think because of that this game is not recommended if you want to have a fully fledge games in the near future, its been a while until the game had on update this year, which is not as major compared to other updates, and i personally dont see this game getting more and more frequent updates anytime soon this year possibly the dev could prove me wrong and give more and more updates however until then ill keep this review here 4) Community the whole official discord server is very political, where its essentially a sestfest of just 'im right youre wrong' and how everyone is very leaning to the left (for the better or worse as i dont really care at this point) but also with the community being often very brunt about their opinion with no tolerance if one has a different political view than the other along with double standards from moderators, often having favorites as there WERE often references to fetish talk among others like bondage within the server when the server itself wasnt 18+, having potential minors inside this game was great when i first bought it because it had frequent updates, mainly appealing to me since its just scalies and stalker along with others, but the game itself has been also been rough around the edges, mainly the AI and also the features in keeping replayability keeping the game itself fresh and lack of polishness it has despite with some other features or gags that i had genuinely enjoyed
Friend - "You do realize this game was made by a furry right?" Me - "Yeah. And?" Friend - "I thought youd be concerned about that..." Me - "Its a good game. Its fuin, its engaging, it has a story i can actually make sense of. Its hasnt crashed ONCE since i started playing it, it runs well on my PC with ZERO stutter. The mechanics make sense and its not grindy, its engaging. Its good to look at. Its a fun game. I dont care if it was made by Cthulhu while high on cocaine and the blood of my enemies - its a good game. Who gives a feck who it was made by?" Friend: "... fair."
Okay this game is fun, and I am excited to see where it goes. THAT BEING SAID Your AI has near perfect detection. Crouched in cover, as the assassin wearing the catsuit and looter mask, peeking through gaps in a barricade, I am getting spotted by the eyes in the back of someone's head and gunned down the moment they turn to face me. In a game designed to be this punishing for death, that is incredibly frustrating. Dying to someone on a rooftop the moment I cross a bridge coming out of the observatory into crossroads is incredibly frustrating. I want to recommend this game, but the state it is in makes the moment to moment gameplay *incredibly frustrating* Looting? Fun. Gunfights when I'm looking for them, incredibly fun. Hearing the AI talk to eachother and search for me is amazing. Getting shot the moment I walk into an enemy's field of view, an enemy I couldn't see through the bushes between the trees, is again, incredibly frustrating. I want to recommend this game, but unless you enjoy an experience that is regularly *incredibly frustrating and punishing* I can't recommend this in it's current state. Very excited to see where it goes, but for now it's too annoying to play regularly.
the only true issue right now is the AI. sheeeeesh they see you from 100km and clap your cheeks with 360 no-scope headshot. other than that this game is straight fire. its a solo dev so dont expect constant updates. 4/5
It's honestly really good. A lot of people are turned off by the fact that it's furry friendly and I'm sure the dev is about that life but it really doesn't translate at all besides the fact there's no humans in this world. Gunplay is good, the NPCs have a sense of self-preservation and are sneaky, it's just scary enough, and I've been playing just long enough to see the world move on without me. It's like that dude who made muck did stalker but everything was lightning in a bottle.
- Shadows look awful & are ghosting & flickering. Game looks way better without shadows, but if you turn it off, shadow anomalies are also invisible. - Can't choose attachments for your guns, you only find guns as they are, you can find or upgrade to rarer versions but still with fixed attachments. Since you can't pick attachments only a few guns shine. So many guns are useless because of the sight/scope. Some high lvl guns don't even come with a sight, long range guns with no scope, only few guns having access to a good scope, many sights or scopes are useless too. -RUBBISH PvP style of EXTREMELY UNFUN gun "balancing", 50%+ of guns "balanced" into oblivion turning most guns into worthless filler. Why are some of the more rare & expensive higher tier versions of guns WORSE than the BASIC versions? The 626 T-AR, 2 round burst fire at an extremely high firerate, has 3 variations: The basic common version is by far the best, has a good scope, the next tier of T-AR is the tactical version that gives you a suppressor but removes the scope making it useless, just use any full auto gun like the common Tec-9 for CQC. The most expensive & rare version has a Night Vision scope, that is just so awful & unusable making it the worst version. Instead of just making enemies & maps more difficult, many devs like Helldivers 2 etc. make the game harder by making guns trash & not fun to use. Like the Night Vision scopes, any gun with it is completely useless dogsh*t despite being rare & very expensive, the devs "balanced" it by making the scope housing EXTREMELY THICK and the sight inside EXTREMELY SMALL. The thick housing looks so damn ugly too. NVGs aren't hard to get at all, you can easily get NVGs long before you find guns with NV scopes and with NVGs you can use any gun at night already, why do NV scopes even exist? The 626 T-AR, could've been one of the best but the devs "balanced" that too, despite having a proper scope, the front iron sight still comes up to almost the center of the scope, making the scope hardly any better than plain iron sights, and a MASSIVE LIABILITY, why would anyone use it when there are other guns with clean scopes without the "balancing". THE LEGENDARY .50 BMG & bolt actions "balanced" into oblivion, why is the standard 5.56mm round is not only good at CQC but still better for long range sniping? The 5.56 is the highest velocity round, the least bullet drop, with high fire rate & big mags. While all the biggest rounds(.30-06, .338, .50 Cal) travel slower with more drop? And also usually bolt action too? Try using the big snipers at Dead Bridge(long range map). The common 5.56mm guns like the M-TR14 just deletes everything, close or long range, low recoil, highest velocity, hardly any drop, with high fire rate, just keep clicking & everything dies. Meanwhile use the big caliber snipers, with lower velocity & more drop, by the time your scope comes back down from the big recoil, your tracer already dissapeared so you can't tell where your shot went, plus having bad scopes it is impossible to hit anything at range when you have no idea where your bullet landed, oh and you have to rack the bolt after each shot too. They even nerfed the highest tier guns, the rarest & expensive ones, the semi auto .50 cal guns giving them worse handling. Like the Kruger .50 Auto, comes with a 1x Cobra sight, so it is a CQC weapon but takes ages to even aim, despite having a laser, when you stop running to shoot, it actually takes the same time to center the laser & hipfire as ADS, which is 3 business days, so stupid, f*ck the devs PvP style of "balancing". The even rarer Kruger 50-B that actually comes with a scope, not even a good one, the lousy ACOG with has the inaccurate chevron reticle and lower zoom, WHY does the highest & expensive tier of gun get "balanced" with the lowest tier of scope? PvP style "balancing" people. Another one of the most expensive guns in the game, "The Assassin" the only suppressed sniper in the game. A STEALTH SNIPER THAT IS USELESS AT NIGHT, THE BEST TIME FOR STEALTH. Comes with a sniper scope with the thinnest black lines that are INVISIBLE at night, even during the day time if there are too many dark colours on your scope. Why is the highest tier of guns getting the lowest tiers of scopes? This is the same scope on the cheapest sniper in the game. Worse is that the digital scope exists that is the best & has a reticle is bright and can be easily used at night. - So after all this EXTREMELY UNFUN PvP style of "balancing": I've played many runs on hardcore permadeath, all you need is some basic guns you can get in 10 mins from the start & upgrade them. Just use 2, the Tec-9(high firerate SMG) & M-TR14 (3 round burst AR with scope). You can delete absolutely anything in this game EZ at any range with these 2 common basic AF guns. Devs already "balanced" the fun & usefulness out of most of the higher tier, rare expensive guns but we don't even need them anyway. So what do we have to look forward to or work towards? If the devs read this I'm sure they'll "balance" the basic guns now instead of making all the guns viable, good & most importantly fun to use. RIP Tec-9 & M-TR14. - The Icing on the Cake: one of the traders greets you with "Gender is an illusion". F*ck off, what kind of f*cking greeting is that? Nobobdy f*cking asked. I came here to buy stuff to go kill more people & take their stuff. Why every game even indie games now want to shove more woke sh*t & more politics down our throats, just let me enjoy the f*cking game. I skipped through most of the dialogue but I'm sure there is more cringe woke & political sh*t there.
