locked in an endless war, have brought ruin to all. Tired of this infernal chaos, the heavens have unleashed the Archon of Judgment, an unstoppable force set to destroy everything.
But before annihilation can begin, you’re given a final chance at salvation: destroy all the demons yourself or perish with the rest of the world and creation.

Welcome to HellSlave II: Judgment of the Archon, a dark fantasy dungeon crawler RPG where you're humanity's last twisted chance. Combining the setting of Diablo, the design of Diablo, the monetization of... not-Diablo, with a neat turn-based combat system works incredibly well. A few odd development choices here and there but otherwise, a great new title with more brutal and bloody cutscenes than a Tarantino movie. Compared to the first chapter, I found the equipment a bit disappointing. We had so many pieces to choose from, but in my experience, I always saw the same ones; for example, I got the same unique item ten times. Also, the fact that you can't farm the bosses for their unique pieces really saddens me. Part of the fun, for me, was just farming them and hoping to get their special drop. The main story is also a bit boring, with too much dialogue, and honestly, I'm not interested. We already have the Codex; if anyone is interested, they can read it there; there's no need to make the dialogue so forced and unskippable. I remember that during the fights in the first chapter, my character would let out diabolical, sometimes even terrifying, groans that conveyed the full power of the attacks. However, in this chapter, my character remained mostly silent. These are my only complaints: the game is still fun because it's still Hellslave, but it's not on the same level as the first game. I know the developers are still working on it and refining it, and I've already given the same feedback on the forum, so we'll see how it develops. That said, I would recommend the game to anyone who enjoys dungeon crawlers and to those who already played and enjoyed the first game. Overall, I had fun and it was worth the money, so I'm satisfied. EDIT: Dev made me notice you can skip the dialogues with the ESC key.
感觉还可以,目前玩着还不错,不过建议加一下倍速啥的,要不战斗有点难熬。还有要是能有啥百科之类的更好了,新手看技能真的很晕乎hhh,等休息了再玩玩看吧
Target Audience: Dungeon Crawling RPG Veterans who want something to dig their teeth into Summary: Hellslave 2 is a game that I want to make clear from the get go is impressive from a solo developer based on whats presented here. There's a lot to take in, and when the game is hitting on all cylinders, you have an RPG that can be very interesting in build/combat interactions while providing a challenge. The dark storyline and interesting interpretation of demons and the Key of Solomon provides the template for battles that can push you and yet make you feel incredibly smart when strategies succeed: and there's a good chunk of skills and synergies to sink your teeth into here. Little touches to UI and sound design can make decisions and battle effects stick rather nicely. Quite frankly, when the game gets into the zone, it will remind you of Dungeon Crawling RPGs of the past with its own twist that puts it towards the top of the indie genre, especially for the size of the team in question here. It's a lot of little details on individual systems that shows years of design work carried over from the first game came into play here: and RPG players in particular will really appreciate the twists to make it stand out. Its when the game goes off the rails where the game will test your frustration tolerance in particular. There are reasonable difficulty spikes that can push the player over the edge, especially when the game takes away certain resources and subclasses in particular. That can be then paralled with parts where the game feels grindy in not a level accumulating way, but a “just get on with it” kind of way, especially when enemies feel like damage sponges (toward the 20 hour mark for me). It's polar nature in that can be confusing. The complexity of the different systems can start to feel like a lot, and the game isn't always the most friendly to new players to the genre, with lacking central resources and tooltips that would help at certain points. The story, while having a lot of good structure, sometimes misses due to singular focuses and a lack of levity: Dark stories need some moments to recover to make the next moment hit, even if you're going ultra-grim. This is not a game that I recommend to someone who isn't familiar to the Dungeon Crawling RPG genre, and even those who've played or game or two may feel a little overwhelmed, especially with the sheer amount of mechanics at play here. I enjoyed my time with Hellslave 2 and want to finish it, and it was well worth playing. It is a game that will knock it out of the park for some players, and will be something they will convince others to play in a cult like fashion. Others will run in fear, especially if you're not familiar with the genre. Those in the middle, it could be a crap shoot, depending on how you're able to deal with the game's valleys. It gets a recommend: but also a caveat that you won't see the games true “value” before a refund period is done. First Impressions/Review Video: : https://youtu.be/zZU9acSTD88 Lists: Positives:

RPG systems are refined and yet work well together for a game that in the big picture balances well over the long haul, even if there are hiccups.
Good Skill trees that give a lot of options and yet a lot of complexity to decisions.
Loot feels significant without being completely overpowered. This is the kind of game that Min/Maxers will love in terms of getting the most out of builds.
Gothic presentation highlights small details that stand out in the best of ways, while not getting in the way of the gameplay.
Chunky content wise, even with haven't completing it, and only focusing on one class.
Story does hit at the heart of “human” nature and struggles to make a player think: also seems to be based on actual literature (or influenced by it), and does seem to have a lot of lore and depth to it.
When sound design hits, it hits fantastically.
Feels like a game that's a labor of love: which goes a long way over the negatives of the game.
Negatives:

Difficulty Spikes can feel extreme: to the point where a chunk of players may walk away. Being able to respec at a moment helps, but it also takes away from the “creating your own character” element.
In contrast, the game can be a little too slow at times, in particular when enemies don't provide a challenge and yet have oodles of health. Now, it should be noted that it's much more balanced then the last two points, but these two points do stand out.
Story can feel a little too on the nose with its dark subject matter: missing moments of levity
Every now and again a bug that gets in the way of the experience. I would say what you'd expect from this level of game by a single developer, but there can be moments that take you a back and have to reload saves.
When sound design misses, it misses hard. Ever since I got first Hellslave on steam for free and got hopelessly hooked on it for few days I've been waiting for the second one. Now it's here and I'm happy to say it's improvement in pretty much every aspect and I've been loving it so far. It's great game made by tiny developer with no AI and is absolutely worth the price and deserving of far more clout than it gets. Some major improvements from the first game: - More tactical and fun combat with more options - Bigger and better maps with more freedom - More RPG elements and quests - Better itemisation - More dialogues and lore And same as the first one there's still amazing very stylish artwork and great soundtrack.
Never played the first game, but boy is this game enjoyable to play with. Follow with HellSlave mechanic with the time line combat, there are three job arc you can choose from, Assasin/warrior/Mage together with 5 demonic linage, you basically got tons of playstyle to tackle the game monster. Some of the side quests indication might hard to find as there no pinpoint/highlight. Overall its a good game to play around with.
