Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Aug 10 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The gameplay consists of two things: card collecting and fighting scenes. The former serves its purpose well, but the latter is atrocious. It feels like a mediocre PS1 action game, where you struggle to even turn the character in the right direction. All of the fights are just padding to extend the playtime. Moreover, all of the quests you play are irrelevant and pointless. For example, as a player or even a character, why would you care about accompanying some random farmer to some random village? His background is nonexistent, he’s not being developed during the quest and the ending is meaningless. And of course, this quest is not connected to the next quest. It’s a big time waster, that fails both to challenge and intrigue the player.
Over the years I have kept coming back to this game. The writing, voice acting, gameplay, and aesthetics are top notch. The RNG mechanics can be frustrating, but they are easily overcome with a few mods. It is a tremendous misfortune that the developer had to close shop. They had the talent and vision for crafting outstanding games. I hope everyone involved in making this game has been able to keep their creative careers going. Please give this one a try.
If you don't already own Hand of Fate then you can buy it, if you already own Hand of Fate then don't buy it.
I see the promise and it is an interesting combo of cards and fighting. Just too repetitive and combat is very one-dimensional.
The only two weaknesses are: Too simplistic combat and BAD camera control (basically non-existent). But that is what holds this back from being one of the all time greatest indie-games. The decision making, deck building, mini-games and atmosphere are all very good. It's a good game, really good. 8/10.
I know it says I only have 0.7 hours, but the thing is - this is one of those games I downloaded illegally, then went back and paid money for because it was just so good that I wanted to support the developers and get all the latest updates. And the updates are great too - I was going to say that I wasn't a huge fan of the hand dexterity needed to get free from bolas and how the lack of health bars make it difficult to know how you're doing in combat, but Defiant literally fixed it before I had time to put it in a review! And I'm really loving the DLC too. I waited to play this game until I had finished the first Hand of Fate, and I honestly regret it, since Hand of Fate 2 is so much better in every single regard that I wish I'd started it earlier. I mean it's more than five years old, but it still feels like it could've been released today. If you've played the first Hand of Fate, you'll be happy to know that this time around we get character customization, better deck customization and more tokens to earn and more starting equipment to choose from, companions with their own questlines, way more interesting and narrative-driven stories with an improved system instead of that confusing card cabinet, way more varied weapons and equipment (that you get to swap out before combat starts!) with fun abilities and different combat styles, and more organized searchable information about all the encounters and gear and storylines. And just way prettier graphics and more interesting stories and encounters and new minigames taking their place beside the card shuffling If you haven't played the first Hand of Fate, you'll love this game if you like roguelites and/or old-school narrative-driven RPGs and/or deckbuilding games. Combat feels like The Witcher 3, everything is narrative-driven and immersive, and you're getting really fun mix-ups of different mechanics and minigamess that feel like the ultimate evolution of the UX of similar games - you're not playing a video game on your laptop; you're playing a magical fantasy TTRPG complete with the carved bone dice and little metal figurines. I'm gonna wrap this up since I feel like I'm getting a bit rambly here, so to summarise: this game does what it does PERFECTLY, it's unique in the gaming landscape of 2022 as much as it was in 2017, it's a modernized game that really evokes everything we love about the history of RPGs and tabletop gaming, and it's an ABSOLUTE STEAL for anything less than 25€ :P
