Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Aug 7 → 0.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Decent story but very repetitive gameplay. Thankfully, the added cheat mode helps make the game less grindy and tedious. The combat is really simple and boring. It's cool at first but gets stale pretty fast. The combat improves and looks cooler in the further games (especially volume 3 and 4) but it's still pretty stale. The dungeons are forgettable and often times reused. The story is kind of boring in the beginning but it gets better as you go on. Character designs are pretty good and the music is phenomenal. I played all of the volumes in cheat mode just to enjoy the story and it took me about 65 hours to finish all of the main story along with some side stuff (not all) and the secret bosses. Might as well treat this game more like a visual novel or watching an anime by using cheat mode because it's not a great JRPG. If this game didn't have cheat mode, I can't imagine having the patience to play through all of this because fights on the lackluster combat would take longer and there would be more tedious grinding for item drops that progress the story (cheat mode instantly gives you them sometimes). If i rated the each volume separately in terms of how much I enjoyed them: 1 - 5/10 2 - 7/10 3 - 8.5/10 (could've been 10/10 but
it felt rushed towards the end
) 4 - 7/10 (it's pretty short) The writing definitely improves and gets more interesting as you go on but I felt like it kind of fell off at some point too.
Some characters felt left out after arcs that involved them the most. It feels like they're just there and it doesn't feel right after going through so much with them.
The gameplay could've also easily been a bit more entertaining if it allowed you to play as other characters but you can only control Haseo. For how cheap this game gets when on sale, it's a decent pickup ONLY if you're interested and want the nostalgia. Also after finishing this game, I don't think the .hack//Roots anime is worth watching. However, I think .hack//G.U. Trilogy movie is okay and the .hack//G.U. Returner OVA is pretty good.
Loved these games when they were on the PS2, I still love them now. I wish they would re-release the first Dot Hack games.
Its great, 4 games in 1. 13 hours into the first one, still not even halfway done. Paid 9$ on sale. This game is what you get if you mix the cool "persona" part of the persona games, with tales of symphonia's combat system, mixed with the story of sword art online
I'm not saying that this game isn't good-- I just didn't get to actually play it yet. It's default setup is for controller. The only prompt commands it displays are for controller too. If you play on PC and don't own a controller (like me at the moment), I'd recommend you not go for this game unless you're okay with figuring out what keys are what buttons.
cyber sasuke uchiha must fight chat gpt
we WILL get //IMOQ soon, trust and have faith... also play this game, best franchise ever
Really charming and underrated with a super fun concept. It has the kind of earnest story we don't get a whole lot of anymore and made me nostalgic for both the early mmo days and this era of gaming and anime in general.
Its grows on you. Remember that its a PS2 game and the first games are the most limited but it progressively opens up per game. They all use the same game engine btw so dont expect the graphics to jump up in quality but its charming in its own way. Gameplay gets repetitive until the 2nd/3rd game so go in for the story which you should be doing. Just go straight through the main quests. Really resonated with me because I started a playing a mmo myself and made friends along the way. Excited for the upcoming new .hack game. Hopefully it revives the series
Love the og, this a cool remastered hopefully to see the OG .hack Series got remastered like G,U
