Legit the best fighting game of all time, I'm not even joking. Characters are super well-balanced and are fun as hell to play as and fight against. There is SO much ♥♥♥♥ to learn in this game, Dead Angles, Roman Cancels, Faultless Defense, Slashbacks, Throw Cancels; every character feels like a walking pocket knife carrying a your father's toolbox. Music is kickASS, and really helps you lock the ♥♥♥♥ in while barraging the other guy with onslaught of attacks like HOT DAMN COCAINE IS FREAKING AWESOME!!!! Online matches are still very much active, although BEWARE because connectivity issues will be your downfall because fumbling is akin to castrating yourself and facing a 1000 years of shame and humiliation. Once again, you gotta LOCK THE ♥♥♥♥ IN!!! This game is for big boys, this ain't Strive ♥♥♥♥♥!!! We InstaKill in this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, we straight up guard cancel on your ass, we don't ♥♥♥♥ around!!! Because this game is a bit older, the training is a bit outdated unfortunately (Xrd probably has the best training mode in my humble opinion). I know everyone hops on Strive's ♥♥♥♥ and be like "Oh Strive is so cool, its so cool looking and stuff, oh my god its so fun" but let's be real here, they probably haven't even played this game because this game is way more interesting, fast-paced, and mechanically rich then Strive could ever hope to be (especially since they pretty much watered down a ton of the previously mentioned mechanics to make the game more accessible for new players). If your coming over from Strive and want to play Robo-Ky, he is WAY better in this game then he is in Strive (although his design, voicelines, and theme song are better there I can't deny). The ONLY sin this game has is that there's no Ramlethal, but as the saying goes, good things happens to those who wait. And that's prob what the game devs were thinking when made this game, prob still engineering the most perfect tan midriff in ALL OF GAMING. Some pro gamer tips: 1). PLEASE READ THE DUSTLOOP WIKI!!! THIS IS THE BEST RESOURCE FOR LEARNING THE CRAZIER MECHANICS DOWN THE ROAD 2). Arcade Level 9 is brutal no matter the difficulty, and you'll def get PISSED OFF when losing like a gajillion times. Now of course the trick is to get better (no ♥♥♥♥), BUT to avoid getting so pissed off that you can't think straight and start doing stupid ♥♥♥♥ you need to find a way to channel that rage. What I do is create a mental simulation of Fred Figglehorn in his living room, and each time I get my ass whooped I redirect my rage onto poor Mr. Figglehorn himself so that he's getting a little tortured and his stupid ass chipmunk scream is echoing up in the 'ol noggin. This will give you the giggles and allow you to LOCK THE ♥♥♥♥ IN. Call me a psycho all you want, but pretty soon you'll get where I'm coming from and you'll prob do some crazy psychosis ♥♥♥♥ too so don't be judging me. 3). Get you a controller that you ♥♥♥♥ with. Go figure a good controller can bring out your full potential, like DUH no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥. A gooner with no hands is basically like a track and field star with a broken spine, they ain't doing like 99% of the ♥♥♥♥ they are CAPABLE of doing, and this applies to an autistic fighting game fan without a controller that feels like a natural extension of their body. 4). BOOZE is your best friend for this game, drinking and doing Accent Core is akin to drunk driving. Will you lose in the worst possible way? Most likely! But that feeling you get when you are just drunkenly going HAM on these bros and just psyching them out with crazy combos and movements is similar to that brief period where you're just going 99 MPH on the highway, beer bottles on the floor and its contents soaking your car carpet, feeling like you can conquer the world. PRO-ER GAMER TIP: DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE

A solid fighting game with a massive roster and plenty of depth to dig into. The mechanics are rich and rewarding once you learn them, but the steep learning curve can make it tough for newcomers to fully enjoy. Matches feel fast and satisfying, though some of the older design choices show their age. Overall, it's a good pick for fighting game fans willing to put in the time, even if it won't click with everyone.
In my opinion, the SINGLE GREATEST fighting game ever created! Incredibly deep and complex systems, while still being somewhat accessible. 10/10 Please play this game
If you are having issues running this on linux, such as getting stuck on the loading screen, navigate to steam settings and change the proton version!! I was having this issue and it is very annoying!!
This is the last Guilty Gear game before the Guilty Gear titles started including DLC. To my knowledge it is the most complete and polished of the older Guilty Gear games. A great place to start if you're looking to try out the franchise. This game feels good to play. A lot of effort was put in to make sure of that. A high quality fighting game even if it is an older one. I like the heavy metal aesthetic. That's something that really stands out among so many other fighting games.
Mashing as May is 100 times funnier here than in strive, also bring back instant kills.
Stop playing modern fighting games. Come to fightcade, come to soul calibur 2 plus. come play an actual video GAME with fun in it.
One of the better fighting games, if you're interested in older fighting game design; play this.
