Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 3 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Choose your side in the American Civil War: Real-time campaign, spanning from Secession to the end of the war, with historical objectives for both sides.
Five campaign scenarios (Pre-War, 1861, 1862, 1863, 1864) and twenty (20) stand-alone battles from 1st Manassas in 1861 to Appomattox Court House in 1865.
Change history: What if European superpowers intervened to end the war, or Lincoln lost the presidential election of 1864?
Scott’s Great Snake: Lay siege, raid and blockade your enemy on land and sea or use blockade runners to keep the life-lines to Europe open.
From Fort Sumter to Appomattox: Watch closely the morale of your citizens and troops. As the war drags on, fervor turns to fatigue, the treasury threatens to run dry, and measures like drafting will cause unrest.
Keep the armies marching: Build and manage the flow of supplies to your armies. Utilize and expand railroad lines to supply and move armies for the first time in history!
Pivotal battles: Fight battles lasting multiple days on historical battlefields. Use engineers to build pontoons and dig trenches, see reinforcements change the tide and commit your reserves to defeat the enemy.
Grant vs. Lee: Manage hundreds of historical commanders with personal attributes and specialization. Famous commanders inspire soldiers and citizens alike and loss of reputation can be irreparable.
Command Great Armies: Huge armies of infantry, cavalry and artillery, with realistic command structures and historical Order of Battle.
Bring the Civil War to life: Amazing Civil War re-enactment and combat footage from LionHeart FilmWorks, and an original soundtrack of old time music and drum and fife band.Updates

IT TOOK ME THREE HOURS TO TRY AND PLAY THIS GAME. NOTE THIS, I SAID "GAME." WAY TOO COMPLICATED TO JUST TRY AND ENJOY A GAME. PROPS TO THE DEVELOPERS ON THE ATTENTION TO DETAILS, BUT I GUESS I AM TOO OLD TO PLAY THIS "GAME." GOOD LUCK IN THE FUTURE. A VERY EXPENSIVE MISTAKE I MADE. I DIDN'T REALIZE THERE WAS A TIME LIMIT TO RETURN THIS PRODUCT. I MAY NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM STEAM AGAIN DUE TO THIS FACT.
The game is good. I love it very much. but the ai need some work. The econemy need some work. The weapons systems need some work. but if the game was multiplayer campaign i tihink that would fix the ai problem for many people but the econemy still would need work. And it would be better with regiments instead of brigades sized units in the regular game.and developers just listen to what Greatscots say. I love the game very much and would recomend it.

Probably the best strategic and tactical civil war game one can find. The game has it's own fair share of problems and bugs and it seems that the development hasn't really made any significant improvements to fix these problems. My personal biggest one is after you get used to how the game works it becomes almost trivial as the enemy AI is trash even when put on max difficulty and agression. I always played as the csa and I would win withnin the first few months of the conflict. I once played as the union and completely destroyed the csa, it wasn't even fun. However, if you are a fan of strategy games I think that you will like this one. It lets you both control the entire country and the battlefield of individual battles, some games that only let you control the macro aspects leave you rellying on rng when it comes to battles (looking at you EU4). Everything you achieve in this game is based on skill and I can really appreciate that. That being said because the AI is so stupid it can lead to you winning battles when enemy has 3 or 4 times as many troops as you just because you managed to route a few of their units. After some time it gets harder to actually lose a battle no matter how much troops the enemy has. Overall the game is fun but becomes trivial after you learn the ropes. You should buy it if you like the strategy geanre as I personally have yet to find a game that offers a similar in-depth experience.
Worst controls i seen in strategy games in my life.
its good. Just needs polish. not as bad as some would say.
This is an excellent but deep strategy game. It does require a good learning curve. It takes abit of time until you learned the mechanics. This is one of the best games for civil war grand strategy games. I can only recommend this game to players who like this genre.
I got gifted this game and i was really excited to play it when i got it. I played some Whiskey and Lemons Campaigns and quickly got constantly frustrated with how dumb the AI can be. For example in one session i was playing as a officer in the CSA and the corp/army that i was in moved out to southern Ohio and then sat there, did nothing, and did not do anything else. i sped up the time scale to see if the army would moved to contest a union army somewhere or attack/occupy any holding but no we sat in the middle of a forest with no supply for 2 years doing nothing!!! to sum up the rest of the session the CSA lost pretty quick. Also this isn't the only campaign I've had this happen in as i did a union game where pretty much the same thing happened. my other issue for the game has to do with combat, you could set up barricades or trenches for your men to sit in and they will move out into the open out of cover once they see a enemy, whats the point of me building this crap if they wont even use it!
This game is awesome. It has one of the best tactical map battle simulations that I've played. There is alot of immersive qualities and presentation in the game. I love organizing my armies via the orders of battle system and playing with the various officers. The scope of the game and everything it is trying to do is crazy considering how small the dev team is, but I find it very compelling as alot of the systems work really well together. Bottom Line: If the Civil War interests you, and if you like strategy games in general (especially anything Paradox or Total War esque) I think it's worth giving it a try. Maybe check out a couple of vids first to get an idea. The downside to the game comes back to the fact it is an enormous scope for such a small team. There is a decent amount of jank in the game that requires some patience and acceptance, but I think it is totally worth it. I've scoured the forums looking for information as there is definitely some mystery within the game systems (especially economics), but again, some patience and coming to an eventual understanding of things is worth it as the game is a blast.
Bought the game and the DLC and it's not bad, but not great either. Battles are long and very similar to one another. Management is a bit tedious. I've had much more fun with Ultimate General to be fair for half the price (when you count the DLC).
