Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 3 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Choose your side in the American Civil War: Real-time campaign, spanning from Secession to the end of the war, with historical objectives for both sides.
Five campaign scenarios (Pre-War, 1861, 1862, 1863, 1864) and twenty (20) stand-alone battles from 1st Manassas in 1861 to Appomattox Court House in 1865.
Change history: What if European superpowers intervened to end the war, or Lincoln lost the presidential election of 1864?
Scott’s Great Snake: Lay siege, raid and blockade your enemy on land and sea or use blockade runners to keep the life-lines to Europe open.
From Fort Sumter to Appomattox: Watch closely the morale of your citizens and troops. As the war drags on, fervor turns to fatigue, the treasury threatens to run dry, and measures like drafting will cause unrest.
Keep the armies marching: Build and manage the flow of supplies to your armies. Utilize and expand railroad lines to supply and move armies for the first time in history!
Pivotal battles: Fight battles lasting multiple days on historical battlefields. Use engineers to build pontoons and dig trenches, see reinforcements change the tide and commit your reserves to defeat the enemy.
Grant vs. Lee: Manage hundreds of historical commanders with personal attributes and specialization. Famous commanders inspire soldiers and citizens alike and loss of reputation can be irreparable.
Command Great Armies: Huge armies of infantry, cavalry and artillery, with realistic command structures and historical Order of Battle.
Bring the Civil War to life: Amazing Civil War re-enactment and combat footage from LionHeart FilmWorks, and an original soundtrack of old time music and drum and fife band.Updates

No, no, f*** no... nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! I don't remember when last time I bought a game in a such bad state and with that garbage UX. I tried, I really tried, but after another stupid thing, like have to figure it out how to move all divisions in my army at once on campaign map (not clikcing EVERY F*** DIVISION SEPARETLY), I can't stand it anymore.
I want to like this game. i want to give the work put in it, credit but wow , this game isn't user friendly. I even tried the DLC thinking " maybe if I start in a small scale this will make more sense as I move up in ranks" . Nope. My command is moving all over and my regiment is just standing around like Forest Gumps. Sorry guys. I'm sure if you invest a 1000 hours in the game it will become easy, I get it, Did it for EU4 . Dont want to do that again.

The premise is good and so was the idea for the game. In the hands of a more talented dev team (and better funded one) it could have been quite an interesting Civil War game but in its current iteration, this is one to avoid. The game is just a the sum of too many poorly executed parts to make any of them stand out or be fun to interact with. This is less of a game and more of a caricature of a "overly confident and in need of a reality check dev." They spent way too long on stuff (i.e. the overly convoluted economy system that most will leave to the poorly designed AI to manage anyways). Instead of focusing on the tactical battles that most of us signed up for with a bit of a strategic element to it on a campaign map, we get overwhelmed with super complex nonsensical details of "supply and demand" and infrastructure and big politics trees, etc. But the battles are a mess to control, ugly to look at and the AI absolutely non-existent. Worst, the game is still riddled with bugs that are certain never to be fixed (look up Seven Years War from the same developers - it's just as much of a buggy mess and still readily available for purchase on Steam for the unwary). In short: You see Oliver Keppelmüller mentioned on any product, and you are well advised to give a hard pass.
Good strategy game, lots of ways to make early mistakes as CSA in economy. The field book needs a lot of work to describe how certain functions effect others. Also filtering not ideal. All in all, not bad and actually can be fun once you figure out how to do certain things. You have to play it several times, even short campaigns that end early to learn the variences of policy because the game won't help you on that.
So much potential... the campaign map has its own flaws (never build buildings ever!), but battles is where the system hurts the most. I love the more realistic orders system, but it requires a bit more precision to feel comfortable with than the game provides. Try getting units into cover under fire when the orders get mixed up and you can't rescind them! Insta-routs are often due to crazy orders accidentally being issued by default. The battles are long, and try to really emulate what a real civil war battle would be like, but too often end up as jumbled messes on both sides (and not in a historical way). The devs seem to be putting in a lot of work, but it's still half-baked. Can't recommend.
I am a fan of the American Civil War, and have tried different games over time. This game is definitely the one that gives the best game experience, It have some bugs in between, for me they are small things. On the easy levels there is not much challenge, but if you set the difficulty level up, you will have a fight to the finish line and can lose.. It will be a battle of strategy and not just click and storm forward and fight, because then you lose. However, I could wish when playing in campaign mode that the AI was a little better at supporting in battles and being a little more tactical. Overall a great game.
Game has the potential to be good, but is so bug-ridden, and the AI is so bad, that I shudder to think sometimes that it may never actually reach the quality it deserves. As of 09/03/23, I cannot recommend.
In my first game I waited for over 40 minutes with the game on max speed before I got into a battle. That battle wouldn't start, the play button was grayed out. After 10 minutes it somehow started and then the real bugs appeared. The AI is really uttery broken. Moving your troops is a disaster. Everything feels very clunky or totally unresponsive. It looks ok, the topic and idea are awesome but these developers don't know what they are doing and this game is waaaaaay overpriced
This game is special. In every way. For who made it and the circumstances it was made in it really is an incredible game. Filled with lots of bugs and goofs and mishaps, and yet through it all delivers a much more fullfilling xperience than any other War game out there. From the insane depth of the economy, to the grand scale of battle, this game really does the best of any game I've ever seen at creating a Civil War game in which you are the creator of your own destiny. I got this game on sale, probably, I dont actually remember but I never pay full price for games. Anyway, assuming I got at 50% off, $20 or so, absolutely worth every penny. If you have the money and need a good war game that has depth, and meaning behind it (and are also ok with muskets rather than submachine guns) then this game is the best you could get in the modern day. But more importantly, by playing this game, and providing your feedback to the devs (who are working on the next game), we can make sure the next iteration from these guys (please be a 7-years war game that would be SO cool) is not only better, but the single best war game made to date
