Whether you're a seasoned Gothic veteran or this is your first time being thrown into the colony, you're in for a true RPG experience with unrestricted exploration like no other.
The Kingdom of Myrtana has been invaded by a relentless horde of orcs. Desperate for powerful weapons to repel them, King Rhobar II orders the mining of vast quantities of magical ore, setting every available prisoner to work in the Khorinis mines. To ensure no one escapes, the King commands his most skilled mages to erect a magical barrier. But something goes terribly wrong, and the magic spirals out of control, trapping everyone inside. The prisoners rebel, transforming the mine into a lawless territory ruled by the Colony’s most brutal inmates.
Now, the King must negotiate with these new rulers, as tensions rise among the mine's factions. Amidst the chaos, the arrival of an unknown prisoner will change everything …

Nice RPG
Это, надеюсь, возрождение RPG моей юности, и будет ремейк 2 части
Всё супер, кроме взлома замков.
Best remake that was ever done! I Hope they will make Gothic 2 remake!
Kannte das Orginal nicht. Also alles neu.
Good storyline, decent action, go to settings and take the combat aid off
Great game, especially if you consider how high the expectations for Alkimia were. For me it is still a miracle, that the developers pulled off a game that captures almost 100% of the atmosphere of the original game from 2001, even adding to the world and playing comfort. The beautifully crafted world has a natural progression system, an amazing weather system, living inhabitants and never gets boring, compared to many nowadays open world games, that feel auto generated, empty and have a lack of meaning behind their places and the way you have to traverse as a player. That being said, the game still has its issues: - (in my case) smaller bugs and a few logic problems in the story - an unbalanced progression system incuding magic (casting time and inability to move while casting), mages robes (weaker than previously owned Shadow Armor) etc being quite useless - an uncreative final (final) boss fight - a lot of things to build on like smithing, alchemy, arena - a noticible drop of quests from chapter 3 onwards, even though all the new quests Alkimia designed, neatly fit into the world and story. If you can, please add more of them for the later chapters, especially for characters that change sides or places, like Scorpio later on. There is a lot of potential. All these points can be fixed over time in form of patches or addons, and I cannot wait for my second playthrough as most of them are adressed. Overall Gothic Remake is a fantastic game that gives its due to the original, while improving on it and keeping all the mechanics and atmosphere, that makes it still a fresh experience to this day. Highly recommended. Of course the best game in the series was Gothic 2, so I will patiently wait for a fantastic remake of that one as well.
