Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.86/day in the week to Aug 26 → 5.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
When civilization is decimated by rampant plague, a lucky few emerge from the ashes. Help them settle in a dangerous wilderness reclaimed by nature. Build them a home, shape their lives, and defend them from bandits and beasts in a lawless, realistic post-calamity world. The Dark Age is yours to rebuild.

From three lost travellers to a thriving walled city, build greatness from desolation. Use 3D terrain tools to create the perfect stronghold, from sprawling multi-storey forts to winding underground caverns. Construct, furnish and decorate your chambers, workshops, chapels, libraries and more, using stone, clay, and other gathered materials.

Each settler is a unique character. Consider Grimbold, for example. As a Swineherd, his Animal Handling is second to none. But his personality is Savage, so he’d make a strong Brawler. He likes nice clothes, his religion is dear to him — and he’s hungry. Satisfy Grimbold’s needs, use his talents, and he’ll be a happy settler — key to a happy settlement.

Build impenetrable defenses and set traps against unrelenting waves of raiders. Research and craft medieval tech, arm your settlers and command them in battle. Tailor your strategy to your villager’s skills, and upgrade them through hunting and combat.

Explore your randomly-generated multi-level map and manipulate it to your will. Terraform the earth and water for construction, design, or military strategy. Build up or dig down, go humble or baronial, and use the modding tools to unearth a whole new level of creative freedom.

Is it a good game? Its fine. Does it have a good foundation? Yes, 100x yes. Great foundation, and Im excited to see what happens in the future with Going Medieval. But there are still issues I have noticed. Its basically a 3D medieval Rimworld. I, adore Rimworld. Always thought it lacked in terms of layers, but I still love it. Going Medieval scratches that itch, if you can get over the other wonks it has. Combat is my biggest complaint, and from what I've seen within 30 minutes I can tell it's gonna annoy me. Others complain about it as well. It is a goooood Early Access game. It is not a good 1.0 release in my opinion. I'll check back in a few months.
Good as a builder game Bad as a survival game Nothing to do but build, slowly grind materials for building and research to unlock more buildings. If it was half the price then I'd say its worth it for the satisfying building

Been following this game since its initial early access release, very steady and transparent development cycle with and experimental version that is updated nearly twice a week or more. game has come an absurdly long way and continues to improve endlessly. I couldnt recommend another sim game better than this one.
还不错。后期游戏有点匮乏,金币一大堆但是用不出去,种田流食品和亚麻上千个但是卖不出去,高级物品比较少,缺乏大后期游戏目标
Bought on initial release and been periodically checking back with Going Medieval, now it's been released I can confirm my thoughts. ABSOLUTELY NOT. Combat is awful, game is completely unfinished, combat is clunky and mechanics like basic attacks have shown to be ineffective. Pretty setup and graphics, gameplay loop is dull, bugs even at release are honestly enough to still mention. Given the devs YEARS and yet, still released in an unfinished state so they can pump out DLCs. AVOID.
Basically 3D medieval RimWorld. Building multi-story mountain fortresses and underground cellars is super satisfying, and managing winter survival alongside bandit raids keeps it engaging. Colonists still make dumb pathfinding choices occasionally, but the core building and survival loop is ridiculously addictive. 8/10.
I would highly recommend Going Medieval. I’ve been playing it since Early Access back in 2021, and even then, it was already a wonderful game. Seeing the journey from where this game started to where it is now has been incredible. The development team is amazing—they are always adding new content and updating the game, which is exactly what keeps pulling you back in for another playthrough. The Good: Building Freedom: The construction mechanics and the freedom you have to design your colony are top-tier. Smooth Progression: The different stages of the game flow naturally and feel well-paced. Fun Combat: The raiding and combat mechanics are engaging and still offer a solid challenge. Realistic Survival: The survival elements are well-formed, rewarding, and relatively realistic. Great Atmosphere: The environment and overall vibe of the game are highly immersive. Optimization: It is very well-optimized; you don’t need a high-end gaming PC to run it smoothly. The Bad (Minor Inconveniences): Learning Curve: If you are completely new to the colony sim genre, it can be a bit overwhelming to get your first settlement off the ground. Easy to learn, hard to master. In my opinion, this is easily the closest a game has ever come to being the perfect medieval colony sim. Definitely worth checking out!
