About
From Santa Monica Studio and brought to PC in partnership with Jetpack Interactive comes God of War Ragnarök, an epic and heartfelt journey that follows Kratos and Atreus as they struggle with holding on and letting go.
The sequel to the critically acclaimed God of War (2018), God of War Ragnarök picks up with Fimbulwinter well underway. Kratos and Atreus must journey to each of the Nine Realms in search of answers as Odin’s forces in Asgard prepare for a prophesied battle that will end the world.
Along the way, they will explore stunning, mythical landscapes, and face fearsome enemies in the form of Norse gods and monsters. As the threat of Ragnarök grows ever closer, Kratos and Atreus must choose between the safety of their family and the safety of the realms.
Atreus seeks knowledge to help him understand the prophecy of “Loki” and establish his role in Ragnarök. Kratos must decide whether he will be chained by the fear of repeating his mistakes or break free of his past to be the father Atreus needs.
The Leviathan Axe, Blades of Chaos, and Guardian Shield return alongside a host of new abilities for both Kratos and Atreus. Kratos’ deadly Spartan skills will be tested like never before as he battles gods and monsters across Nine Realms to protect his family.
Journey through dangerous and stunning landscapes as Kratos and Atreus search for answers.

Amazing follow up to the 2018 game. Takes the series again to new heights. The story is very well crafted. Kept the emotional core from GOW (2018), very emotional, which I would have thought impossible with a character like Kratos. The pacing is great as well. The world is again amazing. With even more locales this time. The traversal is great. I even liked the characters which didn't land in the first game, looking at you Sindri. This game is also good for people who like a challenge. Especially on higher difficulties. The only minor gripe I had with the first game was the enemy variety, and this sgame delivered quite a lot of enemy varieties. Even with all the great things said above, there is one member of the GoW Ragnarok team who outshone everyone, and that is Bear McCreary with a banger soundtrack. He even appears in the game as Raeb. 10/10

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 1: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Not like the first one, bad pacing, bullet sponge enemies, bad writing, annoying characters. Started out great and then you get to Ironwood and wow, one of the worst game experiences I've ever forced myself through. At the end of Ironwood you fight a boss that is a giant, but because it's a black giant you can't even hit the boss, your arrows go through it, and instead you have to attack their magic pimp cup. Whole game is a plot hole inside a plot hole. They somehow managed to make Mimir annoying and Kratos an idiot. Dialogue sucks and instead of cool lore or world building you get complaining and moral dilemmas a 5 year old could have figured out. Like the light elves vs dark elves: light elves are stealing and consuming the souls of the dead to build their luxury city, this potentially includes the soul of Atreus's mother, yet none of the characters mention this and nobody can decide who is the good or bad guy. The dark elves are trying to restore order to the afterlife, even within the games own lore, and the characters are unable to bridge the gap. Or perhaps not allowed to for political reasons. They just debate it on and on and on, like it's some sort of anti war moral teaching. Just slop writing. I'll update this review once I finish the game, but right now it's so bad I had to stop and take a break and come write a review to keep myself from uninstalling.
God Of War Ragnarok takes all the small issues i had with god of war 2018 and makes it better. This game is one of the best story games i have played potentially one of the best in general. The pacing of the game is very good and the world design does not disappoint. Boss fights last for a solid amount of time and the mechanics are impressive. Story also feels very well put together. Weapon choices and variety just adds even more and the draupnier spear is actually fire. Very very highly recommend another big w from santa monica. Gna is my worst enemy.
this game is mid .. nostalgia from the old games carries it ,the plot is basic and it over welcomes itself, like we get the point, stop saying so many times is exhausting its not bad writing tbh is more like terrible direction and execution , every part of the story feels sanitize like an HR meeting ... gameplay its okay not a radical improvement over GOD OF WAR 2018 but the game already had a solid foundation so the lack of innovation its clear >> the useless RPG mechanics are back and they are useless as before, in a way the game felt more like a expansion DLC for the old one . get it on sale if you really wanna play it , its not wort full price .. save your money
No offense to the hard working developers, the game is absolutely fantastic in aspects of quality, story and art direction. But... the amount of grinding and the time you waste on it are just horrible. So much time is spent doing repetitive tasks just to progress and making it the main game loop... I could have simply watched all the cutscenes without losing any important context. The gameplay is mostly the same as in the previous game. If it were not for the cutscenes and character design, I would have refunded the game as soon as I encountered the grinding.
i like cold fight
What can I say? God of War: Ragnarok is a work of art. It's an immersive game with incredibly well-developed characters, whether they are main or side characters. The main story keeps you hooked without neglecting side quests or exploration. The ability to visit all 9 realms, and not only that, but in some cases completely change them based on our actions, makes this game an amazing experience. The combat system feels fresher than in the previous game. The same goes for the combos and weapons. The gameplay feels more fluid and less sluggish, something that, looking back at its predecessor in comparison, left me with a clunkier feeling during exploration and puzzle-solving without me even realizing it. That doesn't happen in God of War: Ragnarok. Here, when you come across areas you can't access yet, it doesn't feel like something you'll only be able to reach at the very end of the game. If I remember correctly, there are 3 or 4 mechanics to unlock, and they are introduced fairly close to one another and around the mid-game, which makes exploration feel much less interrupted by a lack of tools. The soundtrack is impeccable. It's always present in the background, but during high-tension moments it unleashes its full potential. Goosebumps is all I'm going to say. Graphically, it feels like a significant improvement over its predecessor. In this installment, I was able to play with frame generation enabled, which greatly improved the gameplay experience compared to the previous game, and I have to say I was very happy with the result. I've heard people criticize this newer version of Kratos by comparing him to the "original" version from the earlier games, saying that he got soft, and they bring it up as a criticism. However, I disagree. This is the same Kratos, just with over 800 more years of life behind him. Not to mention the influence his son and all their shared experiences have had on him. It doesn't make sense to think that Kratos would maintain his old personality after so much time has passed and now that he's living in a completely different context, with different goals and surrounded by different people. You don't even have to look very far to notice it. Compare the Kratos from the previous game, the Kratos at the beginning of God of War: Ragnarok, and the Kratos at the end. There you have three completely different characters, and that, ladies and gentlemen, is what I call GOOD CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. I previously rated its predecessor a 10/10. Having said everything above, I think there is only one possible score for this game: 11/10
