Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.29/day in the week to Aug 28 → 2.57/day in the week after.

Reviews
Game Dev Tycoon is the game that introduced myself to the genre, and while most people would consider more complex titles like Zoo Tycoon or RailRoad Tycoon a better starting point, for me, its simplicity, strong sense of progression from the beginning, and relatively short gameplay loop make it almost a tutorial for those wanting to try more It's incredible how, with so few systems, it manages to generate everything other tycoon games achieve, and although it's quite dependent on initial RNG, it's almost never frustrating on normal difficulty Furthermore, thanks to community mods, you have ways to replay it for many more hours and refresh the experience It's an immediate recommendation and the game you should try to see if you enjoy this type of resource management
this game is soo fun i used to play the pirated version of this game back in the days. its worth buying fsfs

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 10: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Sat unplayed in my Steam library for years before I finally actually played it and ended up getting super ultra mega addicted. This must be what crack feels like.
Probably the Worst game to complete 100%... I even have a video about (which i going to place into my guide too) getting 9/9/9/10 (9.25) and 10/10/10/11 (10.25) rating on the same game. For the 10/10 and 11/10 achievements there's so much guide exists, but literally all of them are useless, full of misinformations, not up to date at all and written by players who not even completed the game to 100%... it was really hard to find out how the score mechanism works and how i suppose to get high ratings. The best guide was ofc the game's official wikipedia site: https://gamedevtycoon.fandom.com/wiki/Game_Development_Based_on_Experience/1.4.3 But even on this site there's nothing about you have to save the game right before releasing/finishing a game, so if you get a high rating (9.25+) you can just load that save-file back and the game gives you a totally different rating even having chance for 11/10 (10.25) rating... This thing was only written under a reddit post with an actual explanation. Because the behind the rating the game automatically flip a coin between 9 and 10 rating, so good luck getting 4 of those 10s. I'm going to actually write my own guide, so players like me who played this game in 2014 and found it again from nowhere they can 100% it without wasting so much time by searching for answers. After all it's not the only reason why i've down-rated this game. Even if it gave me a nostalgic feeling while playing, it has an awful optimization which gave a really bad experience time to time after 2 hours of playtime. As you get to the 3rd Office the performance (even if you set to performance-mode in the settings) drops down instantly... I didn't check if there's a mod for Game Dev Tycoon which allows you to set the resolution or make the game run smooth, i even linked my PC specs just to prove my point, it's not because of my PC... Forget about those poorly written guides, if you want to get all the achievements i finish my guide in the next few days (most of the achievements are also just easter eggs). ✌️
