Fran Bow

Ооочень странная игрушка. На любителя. Я - не любитель. Если вам нравится творчество Amanita Design - особенно специфичная Happy Game, скорее всего, вам зайдет. Если ждете хороший логичный point-n-click, есть варианты гораздо приятнее. Та же Edna&Harvey, которыми создатели Fran Bow на мой взгляд чрезмерно вдохновились.

I have been playing this game for years and I have so many good things to say. I wanna begin with how I discovered this in mobile play store back in 2018. I tried the demo and I fell in love. Bought all the chapters and finished it. The first time I played this, it felt surreal. I couldn't believe I found the perfect game BY ACCIDENT. This game just ticks every single one of my boxes. First off, the story was amazing. This game practically has every horror element I could ask for. I absolutely enjoyed reading and took my sweet time to immerse myself in Fran's world. Every chapter has its own theme, and I love how much variety there is throughout the game. My favorite chapter would be the second one where the twins were introduced. I love how contradictory everything feels in that chapter. It balances innocence and horror, making something sweet and comforting feel like a twisted little fairy tale. It's such a whimsical chapter and I absolutely love it. Also, the art style of this game has this sort of nostalgia into it and I can't explain why. It just makes me feel nostalgic for some reason. Another part of the game that I adore is the soundtrack. Every piece is hauntingly beautiful and fits the atmosphere of each scene perfectly. Secondly, the characters. The characters are my second most favorite part of the game. I loved all their designs and backgrounds. Each one felt memorable and unique, especially my beloved Mr. Midnight. I love him so much. I was already obsessed with black cats, so seeing one represented so wonderfully in a game made me even happier. Black cats are unfortunately mistreated or disregarded by some people due to some superstition that they bring bad luck, so seeing Mr. Midnight be such an important character and a beloved companion makes my heart happy. I also love Itward, he is such a dad hehe. And lastly, the puzzles are another thing I really enjoyed about this game. Some of them can be tricky to figure out, but that's exactly what made it fun for me. I love it when puzzles make me think instead of simply handing me the answers. I have been replaying Fran Bow for years, and it never lost its magic for me. This was the game that jumpstarted my love for horror indie games, but it will remain my number one no matter how many games I discover after. This game has a special place in my heart. It's my first love and always will be.
