Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Reviews
Total woke trash story with feminist in-da-hood african american woman and awful graphics performance. It's one of the best examples of DEI money hires as the studio was axed by Square Enix. They can put the fries in the bag now haha

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 28: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.89/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Find more of my reviews on my curator page: Kasurot Recommends ---
Short Summary
An Isekai adventure defined by flashy magic parkour across a vast world. Its potential is hindered by controversial dialogue and repetitive open-world design, offering a mixed experience.
The Takeaway

Bright Spots: A unique magic parkour system enables high-speed traversal across an expansive open world.
What It's About: A modern New Yorker transported to a fantasy realm, grappling with self-discovery, newfound powers, and the responsibility thrust upon her.
How It Plays: Gameplay enables rapid traversal, provides a wide array of combat spells, and structures exploration around map objectives.
Core Tone: A clash between the protagonist's sarcastic, defiant attitude and the traditional epic fantasy quest setting.
Major Drawbacks: The frequent, often-criticized banter between the protagonist and her companion, and an open world design perceived as empty or filled with formulaic content.
Series & Genre Context: Forspoken is a standalone, new IP attempting to blend modern sensibilities with the open-world action RPG genre, specifically leaning into the "Isekai" (transported to another world) subgenre.
Technical Snapshot: The PC version launched with significant performance issues and demanding requirements. Subsequent patches have improved stability and optimization somewhat, but it remains a graphically intensive title. It offers standard PC features like various graphics settings, DLSS/FSR support, and remappable keys, though UI scaling options might be limited for higher resolutions.

Main Review
Forspoken places you in the shoes of Frey Holland, an outsider ripped from modern New York City and thrust into the fantastical, blighted world of Athia. This setup immediately casts you as both a reluctant savior and a stranger in a strange land. The narrative attempts to weave together themes of self-discovery, adapting to unfamiliar responsibilities, and the underlying premise of being transported to another world, forcing Frey to confront her past while navigating Athia's dangers. The defining gameplay experience centers on Frey's magically enhanced parkour, which facilitates high-speed movement across Athia's large open landscapes. This traversal system is paired with elemental magic combat, providing a diverse toolkit of spells. However, the world these systems inhabit is structured around conventional open-world exploration loops – clearing map markers, collecting items, and engaging enemies – which forms the bulk of the moment-to-moment activity. Gameplay primarily serves to enable this traversal and combat within the established exploration framework. Athia presents itself as a world locked in an epic fantasy struggle, yet its atmosphere is filtered through Frey's distinctly modern and often sarcastic perspective. This creates a tonal clash – a defiant protagonist quipping her way through a decaying realm. The narrative pacing reinforces this uneven feel, marked by a slow introductory burn, frequent interruptions for lengthy open-world exploration segments, and occasional dense clusters of exposition that can halt momentum. Culturally, Forspoken represents a high-profile attempt by Square Enix to launch a major new AAA IP with a unique mechanical hook (the parkour). Its legacy, however, is likely to be defined by the polarizing reception to its writing and world design. While ambitious in its traversal mechanics and visual presentation of magic, the game often serves as a case study in the challenges of crafting compelling open worlds and relatable character dialogue that resonates broadly with players.
The Verdict
This game may appeal to players who prioritize visually spectacular magic combat and a fast, fluid traversal system above all else. However, those sensitive to frequently criticized dialogue or who seek a densely packed, engaging open world should be wary. The repetitive structure and often grating banter are significant hurdles. Consider venturing into Athia only if high-speed parkour and flashy spells are enough to overlook substantial flaws in writing and world design.
Forspoken: A Misunderstood Journey Worth Seeing Through Forspoken has sparked mixed reactions, with some players struggling to connect with its pacing, dialogue style, or the structure of its expansive open world. But beneath those initial impressions lies a game that rewards patience, exploration, and emotional investment. It’s a journey that unfolds gradually — and for those willing to dig deeper, it offers a unique and memorable experience. Explore Beyond the Main Quest If you only follow the main story, you’ll miss out on the points of interest in each region. These POIs scattered across Athia reveal the tragic pasts of the Tantas and deepen the lore. These aren’t just filler — they’re essential to understanding the world and its emotional stakes. Some areas are locked until you unlock the right spells, so mixing exploration with story progression is key. The lore is there — you just have to go find it. Frey and Cuff: A Strange, Evolving Bond Built on Mystery The dynamic between Frey and Cuff is peculiar, layered, and ultimately powerful. They begin as strangers, but their banter — sometimes repetitive, sometimes revealing — evolves into something more. Cuff’s situational awareness during combat is genuinely helpful, but it’s his silence during key story beats that raises questions. Without spoiling too much: the final reveal and betrayal hit hard. It’s one of the game’s strongest emotional punches. Yes, Frey’s language can be abrasive — even offensive at times — but it’s part of her character arc. She’s not your typical fantasy heroine, and that rawness adds texture to her journey. Combat and Parkour Are the Real Stars Forspoken shines brightest in its movement and combat systems. Magic-based parkour feels fluid and exhilarating, especially as you unlock more traversal options. Spell combinations allow for creative, strategic combat — dodging, countering, and unleashing elemental chaos in ways that feel uniquely satisfying. The more you experiment, the more rewarding it becomes. If you love fast, fluid, and fun combat systems, this game delivers. Side Events: Optional, Repetitive, but a Change of Pace Side events aren’t the game’s strongest suit. They’re mostly optional and can feel repetitive if you’re chasing achievements. But they do offer a break from the intensity of fighting Break beasts and help flesh out the world in quieter ways. Final Thoughts: Don’t Judge the Book by Its First Chapter Forspoken starts slow — no denying that. But judging it based on the early story beats doesn’t do it justice. The story builds, the combat evolves, and the emotional payoff, the twists, the growth — it all clicks by the end. If you’re willing to invest the time, the journey is worth it. Not everyone will love it, and that’s okay. But if you’re curious, don’t take all the reviews (positive/negative) at face value. Watch some gameplay, dive in yourself, and give it the time it deserves.

I bought this on release, and it's held on to it's reputation as the worst AAA game I've played, as well as the biggest waste of money in Gaming. (I also bought Back4Blood, and most other notoriously bad newer games... This is much worse.)
