Forspoken – 7/10 Verdict: A “pretty good but not great” RPG that actually respects your time, lets you finish it without needing a single YouTube video, and gives you one of the most unique traversal systems in the genre—though its open world sometimes feels empty, and the writing won’t click for everyone. ✅ Strengths 🗝 Self-Contained Experience Everything you need—quests, navigation, hints, tutorials—is right there in the game. No relying on YouTubers or streamers to figure things out (a rarity in modern RPGs). Play entirely at your own pace without FOMO events or time-limited nonsense. 🏃 Magical Parkour Traversal is fast, fluid, and addictively fun—vaulting over obstacles, running up cliffs, chaining parkour moves. Later upgrades make you feel unstoppable, turning exploration into the best part of the game. 💥 Flashy Elemental Combat Four main magic types—fire, earth, water, lightning—can be swapped mid-battle for style and strategy. Particle effects and movement combine for cinematic, almost dance-like fights. Difficulty settings let you lean more into story or crank up the challenge. 📜 Steady Story Pacing The plot keeps moving—no 20-hour content deserts between story beats. Optional side content means you can stay laser-focused on the main narrative if you want. The story wraps up cleanly—no DLC cliffhanger bait. 🌅 Visual Presentation Large-scale magic effects and sweeping landscapes look gorgeous in motion. Photo mode is fantastic—perfect for capturing sunsets and unique biome shots. ⏳ Manageable Length Main story: ~20–30 hours. Optional extras available, but not a bloated 100+ hour time sink unless you want it to be. ❌ Weaknesses 🏜 Sparse World Wide open spaces can feel empty, with only combat encounters and collectibles. Lacks the organic, “lived-in” feel of Horizon or Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. 💬 Divisive Banter Protagonist + sentient bracelet dialogue is either quirky fun or repetitive noise, depending on your taste. 🔄 Formulaic Side Activities Enemy camps, mini-bosses, timed parkour challenges—most don’t add meaningful narrative context. ⚙ PC Optimization Improved since launch but can still be demanding—expect heavy GPU use and occasional frame pacing issues at higher resolutions. 📊 Score Breakdown Category Score Story & Pacing 8/10 Traversal & Parkour 9/10 Combat Variety 7/10 World Design 6/10 Side Content 6/10 Technical Stability 7/10 Overall 7/10 🏆 Final Thoughts Forspoken is like a shiny gem hidden in a dusty box—it’s not flawless, but what it does well, it does really well. The traversal is exhilarating, the combat is flashy and satisfying, and the story is refreshingly self-contained. Yes, the world could feel fuller, and the writing isn’t for everyone, but if you want a stylish action RPG you can finish without grinding your life away—or checking a single guide—this is worth a shot, especially on sale.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 28: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.89/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Game seems like it has a lot of potential, but in the few hours I played it was super boring. I really enjoyed the fluidity of movement the game has to offer and I can see how the combat would eventually become more interesting. However, the game is bogged down by a an uninspired story that I just didn't care about. So much introduction to be magically transported to some fantasy world where a chatty bracelet gives you magic powers and chews your ear off. I finish most games I start, but I'm going to abandon this one.
Forspoken is an unfairly underrated game. Honestly I was disappointed when it was released and the reviews started rolling in. It was badly review bombed, with so many negative reviews with under 10 hours play time. I had been really excited about this game and it seemed as though it was a turd. Surprise! It's not a bad game, at all!!! It's an awesome game that has been dogged on way too much! It runs smooth as silk on my PC. I'm sorry if your potato can't run it. It has amazing graphics with beautiful worlds, again I'm sorry if your potato doesn't make it look as amazing as it is. The game is great, the story and the writing are far superior to many games out there today. Maybe it's just to mature for some gamers.
When Frey went to Holland tunnel after losing everything and giving Homer away, what do you think was on her mind? She went to the place she was abandoned to contemplate what to do with her life. At the moment she steps forward the bird flies out and startles her and goes through the open window, so she follows. Then she inadvertently gets trapped by vambrace "Cuff" being attached to her forearm. Honestly who in her position wouldn't be a bit bitter, depressed and angry? Abandoned at birth, all of her money, her ticket out of New York, burnt up and had to give up the one good thing in her life, Homer the cat. Have empathy people! Oh BTW if you dislike Cuff so much you could quickly eliminate the Tantas and be rid of him. The little bit of advantage of having Cuff's scan ability will be gone also. I did it.
The character models are stunning. The city of Cipal is alive and the interactions with the NPC's is above standard as with a game of this type. The voice acting is well done and the dialogue between Frey and the NPC's is informative and good. The dialogue between Frey and Cuff can get repetitive and annoying as others have said. The music is great! Some of the side quests are fun and there is plenty to do in the game. There are a load of spells to unlock, 4 different kinds of magic and it's easy to switch between them during battle. You can upgrade your gear and have many different ways to customize your gear. The combat system is genuinely phenomenal, the fights and the bosses all require different strategies. It's literally the best mobility magic combat of any game I have ever played. It can get a bit hectic fighting 3 different kinds of enemies who all have different weaknesses. It is not just some random open world, it's one that is open to motion. There isn't any yellow paint to hint where one can grip to climb up. You can freely climb almost everywhere, through a parkour system that is SO awesome! I have never played a game that did parkour as good as Forspoken. It is a blast to play! Forspoken is a unique game, with a very distinct gameplay, setting and story that compose a very fun and interesting experience. It does not deserve all the hate 8/10
Enjoying this hidden gem. This game did not deserve all the hate it got. Don't listen to all the negative people on the internet. There is a great game here to be played.
I only played 1.6 hours and i wanted to like it... But as it stands, i just don't. The dialogue is not good, there are A LOT of instances where the game just takes away control from you. In the first part there is a point where you have a conversation with "cuff" and instead of being able to walk around while you talk, you just stand there awkwardly. In that conversation you can click "Show him your phone" and you'd think Frey would have an animation where she actually does that. But nope, the conversation acts like she did but she, again, just stands there awkwardly while talking to Cuff. It's really immersion breaking.
Tough to recommend. Yeah mixed is about right. It's a shame there is a really good basis for a game here. The spells are cool, the combat is great and the main story even is quite good. Unfortunately it's all bogged down massively by the open world. I get it. The world's ended. But far out the POIs are all the same checkboxes on a list! This would have been incredible with a party. Tragic really - the dlc shows what a glimpse of what could have been. Good - Combat - Main story - Tons of spells - Dare i say the world traversal is as good as the Spiderman game - The one part of the crafting system is being able to put any skill youve found on anything Bad - Open world is big but absolutely devoid of charm/personality. It's fine to be devoid of life..it's not fine to be boring! - Switching between spells istarts to get clunky when you have a ton of them - Environments are all bland as hell...with like 1% of the views being awe inspiring - It's a 2023 game that looks like it came out in 2015 - 99% of rewards for exploring is crafting materials - Crafting system mostly sucks - Music forgettable Frey's personality and dialog with Cuff is fully subjective. I found it endearing
I would love to recommend this game but how do they fail to optimize properly even after patches and updates? Even on the lowest settings it still will randomly crash during a cutscene and then be smooth in spots where there's so much going on I am surprised it didn't uninstall itself. The parkour/traversal IS fun as many say but honestly that's about it. The game is 'open world' but man do they put you on tracks so linear and flat you can see the plot a mile away. They could have given this a lot more love and attention that it deserved but alas it feels like a choppy, poor(maybe rushed?) attempt to put something out there to have a token game to say "hey see we did the thing and it didnt do well. this is why we stick to the same stale euro fantasy lather rinse repeat". Get it on sale and I mean no more than $20-$25. It's worth trying to play once and I hope you are able to get through enough of it without crashes and lags spikes and choppy death to enjoy it for the cracked, unrefined ore that is it is. Oh for what it's worth I've tried this on my PC and Steam Deck. Both can handle ultra high quality with the majority of games out there online and offline. There's no reason I shouldn't be able to enjoy this even on low settings yet here I am ,-(
Good story with big map to explore. Good fight mechanics as you continues leveling up and gaining different fight style.
Long story short, I love the game but apparently the game hates computers. I have a custom built PC and it has enough drives and cards to allow ray-tracing and this game STILL constantly crashes. I've even looked online for a solution, and nobody, and I mean NOBODY was able to get it to stop crashing. If you really want to play this game: get it on PS5, it works perfectly, on here: You're just wasting your money.
Buy it at <$20
The Good:
Magics, castings, and animations in general are very satisfying If you like cheesy puns and jokes, you will have a fun time Graphics are mostly good, but can be inconsistent in some regions
The Not So Good:
The environments are cool and pretty and all, but the world feels very empty if you want to explore side quests The story is too much of a cliché I haven't encounter any optimization issue per se, but my 4090 is working way too hard running this game, playing Indiana Jones on highest setting is much quieter than lowest setting on this, no idea how it would perform on a lower end pc
The Bad:
Gameplay is super fun at first, but it gets repetitive pretty quickly, combine that with the fairly empty world, the game gets boring after awhile
