Scour every corner; leaving no stone unturned in your quest to discover hidden treasures, unravel lost mysteries, and claim the spoils of Vahrin for your own.

The city of Vahrin found itself overwhelmed by a swarm of the grotesque, insect-like creatures known as khraiax.
In response, many of the Free Cities, united under the banner of the Combined Order, sent their armies to confront this terrible threat.
But victory was not to be theirs, for while the khraiax stood little chance against the might of the combined forces, a far greater danger rose from beneath the city’s streets.
Vahrin’s king lies dead, along with thousands of soldiers who marched to the city’s aid. Now only its most stalwart defenders remain, desperately fighting to reclaim their beloved home.

Vahrin’s Call stands as its own complete tale, yet it forms just one part of a sweeping epic narrative that spans nations and continents.
What begins as smaller, isolated struggles becomes part of a greater saga, where every character’s trial, every kingdom’s war, and every act of courage or betrayal weaves the tapestry of the unfolding story throughout the world.

I really wanted to like this game, and maybe I will in future, however I've had to refund due to the rough state at launch rending the game unplayable. It's a small indie dev studio and so I am rooting for them, but for now, the game is not enjoyable. It appears to be using UE4 so should be far more optimised than it is, but it barely stays above 40-50 FPS regardless of hardware with lots of performance dips. There is no option for FSR support on AMD, only DLSS which seems an oversight considering the growth in Linux support everywhere else and many more devices using AMD hardware as a result. Based on other reviews though, I don't think the performance is a Linux/Proton compatibility problem. There are some weird black boxes that appear in the bottom right of the screen when saving the game or obtaining an achievement, but this probably is a Linux/Proton issue and so isn't something I would hold against the devs anyways; I appreciate at their size they would need to focus on the Windows majority. The writing is the highlight and it's a shame I couldn't enjoy the game enough to see more of it. Combat seems mostly ok, although a little floaty at times without much of an impact as you hit enemies although the bow feels good and magic is interesting. I like the 'get better as you practice' element to skills, with the addition of books in the world. This gives the game a Fable crossed with Elder Scrolls feel, which can only be a compliment. The UI appears to be a placeholder framework for something better yet-to-come and hopefully it does as that would be a huge improvement. I couldn't get too far before I knew this needed more time to cook. Perhaps I'll check in again after some patches.

Good indie game. A bit like a darksoulsy Fable. The game is not very hard and does not punish you too much. It is more of an action game with RPG elements. I finished it in bout 20 hours while doing some side content. I might come back to it later once it's more polished to get all the achievements or if they ever release new content. Just don't expect a game like Skyrim or The Witcher 3. A solid 7/10
At this price its a no unfortunately. I finished the game after about 12~13 hrs. It was kinda fun, but i couldnt be bothered to sweat gnomes and skillbooks. I was a little sad there was just one settlement. Builds and Combat are fun. For 10-15€ i´d recommend the game!

...JANKY FUN ACTION RPG...
Forsaken Realms Vahrin's Call is a call back to the heydays for old school Action RPG's. It has it charm and kinda meh moments. As many games do. It doesn't outstay it welcome and send you into a tedious 40 to 100 hour adventure. Overall story is anything will blow mind or make you go wow I wasn't expecting that. Pretty straight forward but enjoyable story. Some interesting side quests in this game, some will make you go huh I don't get it but once it click ya like oh that makes sense. Graphics are fine, has nice environments and scenerys in the distance. Lots of different zones not copy and paste like some game. Some may claim not 2026 standard, but the games artistic vision is fine and done a good job on it. Music when it is playing is great, has some nice catchy toons and nice combat music, but once you have played for awhile you have pretty much heard all the tracks and sometimes when exploring no music at all so just feels kinda quiet and less engaging at times. Combat is pretty simple begin out with (And yes has some jank to it, but if you love the jank the jank will love you), but once you get some levels into weapon ya using ya unlock some passives and techniques let you change up how ya attack, Like getting deep into Bow allow you to use different type of arrows, like bleed one, poison and so on. Magic is nice to use as well, from ice, to fire and earth. As well Alteration which more healing spells. Give you fair few options to change up your playstyle. It is a classless combat system, so can be anything you want to be, but no pure mage type since have no staves, wands. Overall I have enjoyed the game, it a nice Action RPG game, with lots to explore and see. Interesting classless job system as well nice areas to explore, a fun 25 ++ hour game. And I'll give the game a 7.5 out of 10. For me was worth the price, but for some I know you'll wait for a sale.
Decided to give it a try since it was shown on asmon's game expo. Visually it looks absolutely horrendous and nothing like the trailers, (maybe this is a issue on my end.) gameplay didn't really hold me although i kinda dipped out early because i wanted to make sure i got my refund in, reason being is i was seeing early redflags, to anyone checking this out due to seeing it on the asmon expo be warned that it seems like the type of game you'd expect sweet baby inc to have hand in
What makes me rage quit this game is that the fighting animations are not responsive. Often I find myself locked into swinging a sword when I'm furiously tapping block or dodge, but the game is written such that I cannot react to the boss fast enough. Sometimes - like in my latest fight - the game won't respond AT ALL to my keyboard input. Specifically, several times during my latest boss fight, I gain some distance from the boss so that I can finally apply a bleed with a barbed arrow, but the game simply doesn't respond to my keyboard input (Ctrl key by default). Then the boss is able to quickly close the distance and bash on me lol. I can take that only so many times before I rage quit.
You should disable Anti-Aliasing for better graphics. Overall, its alright. I think it should be fleshed out more. Maps and towns feel pretty boring and bland. NPC's are mainly stationary and robot-like. I have not encountered any crashes or glitches yet. Ill wait until the game progresses further with updates. Also, go to settings and enable locations for quest. It really helps out!
The performance is horrible, I got 30 fps on the epic preset and 55 to 120 fps on the low preset without DLSS. DLSS would probably help but the game uses the blurriest model there is so it's unusable (not able to swap the model using the NVIDIA app). Even some UE5 games have better performance while having significantly better visuals
I can not get the CPU to stop running above 80%. # hour in game and 1.5 has been in options and settings. I have a 5070, 32gb and a 9600x. All games run great but this one.
If cozy games met rpg, this is what you'd get. This game feels and looks like something you'd hand to a 12 year old to play.
