100% I would recommend this game to anyone, Yes it's not the traditional Final fantasy style (Turn-based) and storyline is MEH but gameplay wise it's fun, While other may say it's boring due to the "Gambit" system basically playing the game for you but if you don't know how to use the gambits it can be a little intimidating to new players and Death will come for you a lot (As a veteran FFXII player. I still own the PS2 version) Stay away from trial mode unless you know the gambit system Also stay away from trial mode (IF you do not want the characters to become broken) Also download the mod to change the License boards back to the PS2 version or else you will not have any "Freedom" like for example if you wanted Vaan to wield swords/Shield then want him to have a gun ya you can't do that on the Zodiac version until you get a second license board but even then you're limited

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 17: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.11/day in the week to Aug 4 → 2.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is what you get when you take the original Star Wars, invert its SciFi-Fantasy Ratio, and mix it up with the most convinient classic FF game you can get. I think the focus for this game is gameplay: It is pretty much the last "classic" Final Fantasy game as I see it, its work real-time with the well-known ATB system, and it works well. The speedup option helps a lot too, and the gambit system is something that should be praised, and copied by all party-based RPGs. (No more braindead AI teammates hurrah!) The world and map design is very well done too, the interconnections and later unlocks all make the world feel a bit more real. And while the story is not too long, there is a lot be done even in post-game with the Hunt system. While it did a lot right, I would be lying if I said the game is perfect though. There are still grindy sidequesting to be done, lots of loading screens, and a few stinker enemy and dungeon designs, I'm mainly thinking about the second-to-last dungeon. (you know which one) If you like JRPGs, especially from the 2000s, this is an easy recommendation.

I really enjoyed the world building of this one. Many NPCs can be interacted with just for the heck of it, and there are a lot of areas to discover. If you come from FFXIV you'll see quite a lot of enemies and general gameplay ideas that are nearly identical to each other which is interesting to see. XII can be summed up as a FFXIV-lite in my opinion. There is a lot of similarities but it doesn't quite do anything better than FFXIV. If you are willing to pay for a subscription then you are better off just playing FFXIV, otherwise this is still a great game to get in to. The characters are likeable and the story is easy to follow along to. The hunt system is a little sluggish for the entire process of doing a hunt (go to hunt board -> talk to person who put up the bill -> hunt target -> return to person for reward), but otherwise the hunt targets are varied and interesting enough to keep you coming back to the hunt board. The gambit system is a neat idea, very similar to Dragon Age: Origins in nature, but the commands you give your people are very surface level. You can only set up to 12 gambits per character at a time, and for the spell-casters it isn't great to work with because the majority of your gambits will be "if weak to X, cast Y" for every element. The gambit system would've been 10x better if you could set up if-else statements so you can account for more situations like "if 1 enemy, cast single-target spell, else cast multi-target spell". As you optimize your gambits, the game progressively becomes a walking simulator as your people are smart enough to account for most situations. This means most of the game you are just moving the analog stick around to get from point A to point B as your people commit genocide across the land automatically.

Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age is an interesting installment in the franchise, most notably due to the fact that it has a setting of what seems like heavily influenced by middle-eastern regions and medieval times. It also features a new auto-battle combat style, which gives a new take on strategy. Pros: + Decent art direction and characters, albeit not as memorable or iconic as other FF titles + Great voice-acting + Decent soundtrack + Great sound design + Satisfying menus and interface + Linear, for the most part + Plenty of settings and options to fine tune both the game and your playstyle + Supports 60 fps and adjustable camera, which is an improvement in previous titles Cons: - The game always fails to launch due to frequent gpu cache corruption, even on modern and high-end hardware. Still no patch. Deleting the cache is a temporary fix - The combat does not have much agency and is an auto-battler with the strategy going into set up, positioning and timing. Feels a lot like a single-player mmo, or more like Xenoblade Chronicles, except you have limited abilities in comparison, can’t switch weapons mid-battle and have an atb bar rather than individual cool-downs. This is personally a con, because I prefer combat that is a lot more involved - Enemy attacks, not even from boss fights, can soft-lock you. They can immobilize your entire party, preventing you from moving, attacking, using items, anything. Great design! Made me uninstall the game - The story was not all that compelling for me - Incredibly and increasingly tedious the further you get. I personally couldn’t wait for it to be over, and I was only doing the main quests - Tedious navigation at times, as you are not always told where to go next Mixed: ~ Includes divisive optional gameplay enhancements, such as speed-up time, instant level cap, etc. Some regard this as helpful to ease the old-school combat mechanics and world design that can be seen as artificial padding or needlessly difficult, where others see it as cheap and insulting to the original intended design ~ Has a setting heavily influenced by middle-eastern regions and medieval times ~ Tetsuya Nomura was not involved In conclusion, this game is definitely not for everyone and is somewhat divisive due to it's gameplay. Though, it still has charm and is still somewhat fun for Final Fantasy fans. I personally get bored and annoyed of the combat style and convoluted, boring busywork they made you do. Glad I bought it on a steep sale. I can’t recommend this game due to these cons and its technical issues on pc. Note to self: Never play this game again Overall Rating: 2 out of 5
I have like 40 hours playtime, ignore the extra 100 hours please. This is one of the worst Final Fantasy games, like FF2. I'd rate this game 5.5/10. - Characters are whatever, music is amazing like always, job system is good. I have played all of FF1-FF10, 14 and 16. I especially loved FF6, 7, and 10. (I killed Penance in FF10 without using a certain summon mechanic) - 1,3,4,5, 8,9 and 16 are really amazing too. I know 8 has horrible stat system, but it's unique atleast. Cons: - Bloated with necessary (or atleast very important buffs) that must be on on every party member (max 3 at a time + guest) - Every boss is extremely lazily designed; They don't do anything, dmg, really anything until they get to 20% hp, when their dmg doubles or triples and it starts one shotting party members (even with buffs like protect, bubble etc on) - Bloated with debuffs, here are the list of debuffs in this game: KO (like lvl 5 death), petrify (from stone), stop, doom, confuse, sleep, disease, reverse, slow, disable, immobolize, silence, blind, poison, oil and sap. So it's constant Esuna or Remedy spam. But Esuna (or Esunaga) is not that strong compared to lvl 3 Remedy. - Decoy mechanic: This is a debuff that makes the enemies hit a certain party member, it doesn't last long, it has a chance of working, even less of a chance if ally has Shell (to reduce magic dmg) on. This makes most bosses and enemy sponges very tedious to deal with. - The game has its own version of Limit Break, that does minor dmg. - Game is extremely bloated with side content; dozens of hunts, and side quests. - Can't skip most of traversal cutscenes. - When u summon a primal in battle, only the character that summoned it and the summon itself is there. No one else. - I honestly have no idea what Square was thinking with this game, it's just enemy, buff, debuff, boring dmg mechanic sponge. - This game falls in the category "almost as bad as FF2". It can't say it's better than any other Final Fantasy game. It's just too bloated with stuff that doesn't make the game fun to play, compared to previous FF titles (not 11 since it's an MMO) If you play this, please make battle speed slowest, and make speed mode multiplier 4x, this game has so much running, that in a 40 hour playthrough, 10 hrs of that would just be running from A to B. Just do story first asap, it's really easy, so you get strong enough, to do the side content. I have done every side content as soon it became available (or for me to be strong enough for it), and most of it has been a horrible experience.
This is not a bad game. Go play literally every other final fantasy game before you play this. it is so much worse of a combat system and all the side quests are so tedious. Every other main line final fantasy is better. every single one.
Constantly crashes upon opening License Board. Tried searching online for fixes and tried them all but none of them work for me
