Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 5.11/day in the week to Aug 4 → 6.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

The world has fallen under the dominion of the Shinra Electric Power Company, a sinister corporation that has monopolized the planet's very life force as Mako energy. In the urban megalopolis of Midgar, an anti-Shinra rebel group calling themselves Avalanche have stepped up their campaign of resistance.
Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinra's elite SOLDIER unit now turned mercenary, lends his aid to the rebels, unaware that he will be drawn into an epic battle for the fate of the planet, while having to come to terms with his own lost past.

“SHUT UP! Sit your ass down in that chair and drink your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ TEA!” Let’s start with the facts. This version includes a 3x Speed Mode, a No-Encounters Toggle, and a Battle Enhancement Mode (auto-fill HP/MP and instant Limit Breaks). While none of these are strictly necessary to enjoy FFVII, they do make the game much more respectful of your time, which is how you can get a completionist run of this game done in around 40 hours. Outside of these modern luxuries, this is the exact same experience you know and love, and if you know anything about video games I don’t need to sell you on Final Fantasy VII. So instead, let’s talk about achievements, and why I think you should commit to that 100%, 40-hour run. FFVII is endlessly praised for its iconic cast and complex storylines, but at its heart, it’s still a video game. That means one thing: side content. What makes FFVII special is that it rarely forces you to engage with its side content. Chocobo breeding and racing, the Battle Square, the superboss Weapons, Wutai - the sheer amount of optional depth crammed into this game is staggering. The fact that you could easily beat the story without ever touching half of it is a testament to how much Square trusted players back then to simply explore and discover the world for themselves, and is something that I now implore you to undertake. Go learn why Joe and his roided-out Chocobo, Teioh, are worse than Sephiroth, or how to pilot the convoluted dating system hidden throughout the game to end up on a date with Barret. Trust me when I say it’s worth it, and it truly shows why Final Fantasy VII is still hailed by many as the GOAT of the series. Never got to play it as a kid. I grew up on 8 and 9. Now I have beat it for the first time, and my god what a game... Easily the greatest JRPG of all time and the best I have played. I get it now. This game deserves its praise.
First off, I almost didn't get this because of the negative reviews about the visuals and audio being messed up. Glad I bought it anyway because I haven't experienced ANY of what those reviews are saying. Maybe they updated the game since those reviews? I dunno. But if you're on the fence because of what they say, ignore them. Anywho, this was the first FF game I played late in 1997 on PS1. Did another playthrough a year later. Couldn't beat Sephiroth either time so decades later, here I am trying again haha. There's many versions/remakes of this game but I haven't played them. I don't like how convoluted the recent remakes are. Sure, they visually do the FF7 universe tremendous justice, but I'm not a fan of them changing the battle system. Why can't we just have a direct remake/upgrade of FF7 that's purely visual with some improved sounds? This version is great with having the freedom to toggle 3x Speed (sooo useful!) and No Encounters. There's also another option to toggle being invincible/always having limit breaks but there's no fun in that, especially since I haven't legit beat the game yet. Needless to say, this is a fantastic game. Great story, memorable characters, wonderful music, and great battle system. FF8 is my absolute favorite but FF7 is next on the list. Highly recommend, especially if you're like me and haven't played in decades. I'm loosely using a walkthrough this time and I discovered that I missed out on TONS of great items in my past playthroughs. It's very easy to miss out on great items early on in this game. Also, Tifa > Aeris/Aerith. And it's not even close.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3608298209
The greatest game ever made.
Can't really recommend this version of FF7 due to numerous sound/audio issues. I'm sure there are mods to alleviate or fix the issues but there shouldn't *have* to be mods to do so.
Had technical problems on the 2013 version Have technical problems still on this new version Maybe in 2039 I will finally get to play the game.
