Spriter makes it easy for anyone, regardless of experience, to create 2D game animations using a technique called Modular Animation. Individual sprite pieces can be attached to bones and then easily animated with the powerful, yet easy to use toolset.

To be frank, this software has been one of the most disastrous developments I've ever witnessed. Spriter and Spine were both released in the same year, 2013. While Spine has risen to become an industry standard, Spriter has consistently struggled with clunkiness and usability issues. When Spriter 2 was announced in 2019, there was a resurgence of hope. However, now, 5 years later in 2024, there's still no sign of a release on the horizon. What a complete washout. I find it absurd that it's still available on the store, especially at its current price tag. Given its state, it should have been pulled off ages ago.
Sadly, this is a waste of money. It's extremely buggy with bones and sprites vanishing in the overview and constant infinite loops, when renaming things. I tried to achieve something with it and it was mostly battling with bugs and glitches. This is not what you want to buy.

soo, tried to give this very-user-UNFriendly software another go aaaaaand....... it's not as bad. Yep- it's even worse now, when I try to export a GIF it crashes at the end- the GIF's broken, I switched off OpenGL- still crashes WТF ?!
im having problem with sometimes the images that i drop in the workspace cant be edited/cant be moved is there going to have any features to be add? if so please add a simple tool where you can add physics to 2d! its been a year still no mesh deform tool? theres a skin tool but come on still not polished it? its been a decade do something! this app is super buggy so i recommend to save always. ITS BEEN A YEAR GUYS! DO SOMETHING! atleast drop some updates! you people making spriter 2 but this app is not yet polished and done. until i didnt see any updates and having problem with the app i will say no for now.
Wrist destruction simulator. So many things require 1-by-1 operations, you can't even change the sort order of multiple sprites at once: Need to manually drag and drop each sprite for every single frame if you didn't plan ahead. Can't copy/paste or move multiple keyframes from the main timeline, need to select all frames beneath with drag click while scrolling. Selecting multiple sprites to manipulate scale can't be done via the hierarchy, you have to select them individually in-scene or their scaling becomes distorted. There's so many ways to get frustrated with Spriter. On top of all that, the program's extremely flimsy, seemingly crashes on a whim. It really could've been a simple yet solid animation tool, but it's just not.
Keeps crashing without reason. Horrible interface. Don't waste your time, my friend.
Since april i can no longer launch the program.. Sadge!!!
I haven't been able to open this program since I bought it years ago. I assumed it was because of the older computer I was using. I just downloaded it on a custom built new computer to find....nope, program still doesn't open. I checked the reviews to see that I am in fact not the only one. Unless there's a fix in an unknown update or something, I can't recommend this to anyone.
