Don't get me wrong. I want to like this game. I really want to like it, I got it as a gift for my B-day The graphics are adorable, even if simplistic. The enemy design is interesting. Everything around the visuals of the game is having this lovely charm like the old 16 bit games from my childhood However... This is where the good parts end. The audio part of the game could use a little bit of work, but that might be my own bias. Now let's get to the meat. I feel like most of the time I'm battling against controls way more than against the enemies The attacks feel clunky, and feels like they need to play out to the very last frame + a few more frames for the character to get back to default pose Blocking takes way too long for it to be truly useful. Sure, it does manage to serve its purpose sometimes, and I DO like how it won't fully negate strong attacks, and just cut the damage they deal to you However, oftentimes the fight is me vs controls and enemies who can be damn merciless. The arena champion took me way too many attempts (Yes, I know, I try to git gud, not the point). Oftentimes it feels the enemies can just change the direction of the attack in mid animation, making dodging even less enjoyable. Also, I am pretty sure that I managed to pull off some weird attacks without knowing how - a combo list would be a godsend in this game. As a side bonus, I am not sure how, but for some reason game played in like 20FPS on my machine when I had the screen refresh rate set to 165Hz+OD - switching it to 60Hz fixed the issue. But yeah, as much as I want to like it so far, the clunky controls and the sluggish animations of my attacks and blocks make fighting an unpleasant and oftentimes frustrating slog. Which, as much as it pains me to say, despite liking certain aspects of the game, I cannot give it a good review as of now. If the filly becomes a bit more responsive to the keys I press, then maybe. As for now - sorry.
