This game is gorgeous to look at, and reminds us why we all need more pony games on Steam — but that's kinda where the positives end. This game can be super unforgiving. I love a challenge, but slow and janky attacks are artificial difficulty at best. There aren't enough heals for the incredible amount of damage you take (a lot of enemies even attack you FAR off-screen) and there are no health upgrades which would've been nice alongside the mana upgrades. The game expects you to die, a LOT and forces it to get health back. The bosses... are pretty flawed too, which is a shame since they're so unique. The last boss can queue 4 attacks at once and boss damage per different attacks are inconsistent across the board, while they don't have enough build-up to decipher what they'll do next more than half the time. Filly Astray treats you like you're the enemy and everyone else is a MC which feels wrong. I really hope the developer learned a lot from this and strives to make a more skill-based and satisfying to play experience than this was. I'm going to stay tuned to see where they go after FA.

Fun game but the control decisions hinder gameplay. There's a massive delay between actions; jumping, kicking, even turning around. Enemies don't have this delay and can act in rapid succession, meaning it's VERY easy to get stunlocked to death by even the most generic, low level foes just because your character won't move when you tell her to. There are unique collectibles that sit on the screen forever once you have them but there's no indication what they're for or what they mean. They're not even named. Some in game hint would be appreciated. Enemy designs are great and most have diverse move sets that make them a threat at both long and short ranges. Rewarding to beat, or they would be if I wasn't fighting with Filly's move delay. Fix the move delay and give us a bit more control over what moves we use (she has an up strike and down strike but we have no control over when she uses them) and I'd give this little indie game (clearly made with lots of love) a 5/5.
Pros: The Graphics Are Adorable. Cons: The Sound Design Makes My Ears Bleed. The Gameplay Is Basically A Walking Sim. The Enemies Are Boring To Fight. You're Incentivized NOT To Fight Enemies Because Of How Clunky Your Attacks Are. The Bosses (i actually got to before getting bored) Are Waiting Sims. Verdict: You Made Me Dislike A Pony Game, How Dare You? This Game Is NOT Worth 14.50 AUD, Not Even Remotely. For Just A Little More, You Can Buy BOTH Slaughter Horse 2 AND MareQuest, Which Are Both Far More Enjoyable Pony Games Than This Garbage And Are Far More Worth Their Value. 3/10 Eat Sand
Genuine question: Why are the enemies all such pretty mares?
as much as i wanted to like this game, i cant really. the combat is clunky, jumping is stiff, i feel like i have no control of my character when im asked to do very percicse jumps and very precise dodges. also, where am i and who am i? in game i mean, we dont even know the characters name, why their fighting, who their fighting, how their even changing locations. we go to flowing up on a box as water reaches the top on a cave and then boom, teleport in some forest. we dont even get a "HA I AM BOB AND I DONT LIKE YOU YOU SHOULD DIE!" like at least i know the guys ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ name then. Its a shame because the art is super well done
Achei muito bom, apesar de ser curto e não muito prático de navegar pelo mapa. As artes são excelentes e a jogabilidade é boa.
