FATE: The Cursed King

Let me first say that I'm a little biased as this is my favorite installment of the game. I am writing this review right after the completion of the main questline. The main quest line is slightly shorter than Fate: The traitor soul, being completable in between 25 to 45 hrs time depending on how fast you want to go through the dungeon. Despite the game's flaws, which I will get into, I love this game. One of my all-time favorites. To start with the good, the fate cards are AMAZING. In Fate: The Traitor Soul, they are almost useless, but in The Cursed King, they give you anywhere from 2 to 15+ skill points per 3 cards depending on which ones you use. This helps leveling up a lot. Much more so than the previous installments. The town is great, with 7 quest givers that allow you to take multiple dungeon quests at the same time, meaning you can technically take all 7 quests at the same time while staying in the same town, unlike The Traitor Soul. Also, it is much easier to acquire gold, helping you to level up your fame rank much faster. I hit level 17 in less time than it took to reach level 15 in The Traitor Soul. The dungeons themselves are much better as well, in my opinion, than The Traitor Soul as the difficulty between them if very apparent, which correlates to experience and fame points. There are 3 dungeons and a final dungeon that opens after you complete the game. The final dungeon in the main questline (number 3) is the most difficult. You WILL need at least 1500 health, 2000 armor, and do at least 1300 damage before even thinking about entering or you will get one shot. Finally, you can import other characters from other installments and either play as them with all their armor and rank, or hire them as helpers. You can have up to 3 helpers at once, giving you some very much needed help as there are a lot more monsters (2 to 4 times as many as previous installments). You can also hire other characters whose hire level depends on the current dungeon level difficulty. Now for the downsides. The quest givers, as with the previous installments, don't want to give you a quest for the next level half of the time. The helpers as well come with no armor when you first hire them, unless they are a previous character you played or imported, making it quite expensive to upgrade them to a suitable level. In the first dungeon, there is a 1 in 5, to a 1 in 6 chance of your screen glitching a little bit when fighting an orc. Only the first dungeon has this problem. The game did crash on me 3 or 4 times during the playthrough. This is very annoying as I had to repeat the levels. The final dungeon in the questline is incredibly difficult as the monsters, while low health, do massive amounts of damage. You'll want around 2000 health when you reach level 30. The final boss is way to easy. I killed him in less than 2 seconds. He is easier than the monsters on level 20. The final chapter of FATE finally gives you AI-controlled allies so you can blame everything on them when things go south

great addition to the FATE series. A lot of extra game play to keep you going with the multiple dungeons.

bringing back the memories and is very calming to play and vibe to but it keeps crashing every so often, still worth playing and climbing up in rank.

Great classic dungeon game. 9/10 It had potential to be way bigger if they added updates from launch to now and forward. Much lost potential but a fun Dungeon looter.

Fate: The Cursed King has three main dungeons that keep you on your toes, but once you complete them all, it's all worth it to unlock a fourth hidden dungeon for you to find and explore like your life depends on it.
