Play (or Re-play) This Classic Dungeon Crawler!During the golden days of action RPGs, FATE was a powerhouse, winning runner-up for PC Magazine’s Role-Playing Game of the year. Popular enough to spawn 3 sequels, this was one of the premier dungeon crawlers of its time.

The game is exactly as I remember from 21 years ago (I was 7) I am so glad for the opportunity to play it again! This is one of three games that I remember from childhood, that I continued to think about for years. I'm so happy this is here for everyone to enjoy!
I first played this on my grandparents laptop, like, in 2009, as we road tripped in their motorhome across the country. It was one of the preloaded games on the laptop, i think just a demo version too. but boy was it interesting to a young kid. That being said, the makers of Halo Famously expressed that they just had 15 seconds of fun and made that repeatedly, i think fate does that a little bit too. (at least so far)

After playing the Demo as a kid in the early 2000s this game has nostalgic memories for me. even without the nostalgic memories if you like the core gameplay loops of finding better gear to make big number go BRRRR and MASSIVE RNG then this game will be right up your ally! unlike more modern games where you are class locked on gear however. this one allows a more unique blend to fit any playstyle and any combination you would like to try. gear does not have durability and there is no finite cap to how far you can go or how big that BRRR number can get. there is a game play feature that allows you to retire a character and pass on 1 item from that character (along with part of that characters fame levels) to one of its decendents which gives the heirloom item a 25% boost increase to its stats making it even better.
played this game as a kid around 2008-2011 not just nostalgia still a great game. with many different ways to play
finally bought it as an adult since i only had the demo as a kid! super fun and nostalgic
This was my favorite game as a kid when it came out, and it's still one of my favorites now.
Game Review Hours of gameplay for 1 run. It is an older game so don't come expecting flashy graphics. I would still recommend if you like a simple dungeon crawler. A fun, low stress game in early levels that gradually challenges strategizing in later levels depending on your character build. You get a pet to follow you in your adventures and fight alongside. When your overburdened, you can send your pet to sell extra items fast, depending how far you've descended. There is a fishing mechanic thats like a lottery for equipment or temporary stat boosts for you pet. Personal note This game has nostalgia for me, same for many players that played the demo, I'm sure. I remember playing this on my laptop as a kid for hours, especially visiting the family farm. Loved the fishing mechanic, would sit and hope to get a permanant upgrade to my pet or find awesome equipment. (Haven't finished one playthough yet. XD I blame trial period limits as a kid) Probably played at least a 100 hours as a kid.
nostalgia, but not really given QoL features for a steam rerelease. It still runs on modern systems. No. You weren't just stupid as a kid. The game gets unfairly difficult after a few floors and the enemy stats start scaling exponentially and I'm pretty sure basically nobody has actually beaten this game. Get it on Deep Sale.
One of my favorite games, though I have never officially beat it. I like to spend hours just fishing to see what surprises I can find for new gear, plus it is the best way of making gold.
childhood game, so goated might make a roblox inspired version
