Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Aug 17 → 1.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews

Do not take my thumbs up as me recommending you buy it. I don't recommend that, the game is a buggy mess, even after all this time. My thumbs up represents me liking the game. I own it on Xbox as well and put a lot of combined hours between the two platforms. I can get lost in it and still enjoy it despite it's huge flaws. I don't think most people will enjoy it the way I do. I love the theme and the management aspects of the game, The graphics are fine but then you get into glitched out missions, among other bugs that others have mentioned. If you can see past all the issues you may enjoy it like I do, doubtful though,
I'm really disappointed in the Publisher. Most of the games they publish gets abandoned. Just a warning to those who plan to buy games from this publisher to only buy their games on sale if they want to reduce their risk of buying an unpolished abandoned game.
I still wish there was more rackets but once i got past that i started to really enjoy the game. Its not perfect they decided to go woke instead of aiming for historical accuracy. They have trans bosses and about one quarter of your henchmen look like some form trans. According to this game about a quarter of all Chicago's gangsters in the 20's were trans. Half the gangsters are women and a good portion of them are old ladies. So it's really hard making a crew that could be considered realistic which is my main gripe with this game why do we have to force today's issues into a game about 1920's bootlegging? i don't know but despite all that ridiculousness I still enjoy this game which says a lot because woke ♥♥♥♥ is dumb
Empire of Sin is an ambitious strategy game that combines mafia management, turn-based combat, and city control in 1920s Chicago during Prohibition. Although the game had a bumpy launch, several updates and DLCs have improved the experience considerably. It's still not quite the mafia sandbox that many were hoping for, but it delivers a unique blend of XCOM , Jagged Alliance , and Crusader Kings -inspired crime strategy. The combat is very similar to XCOM. Positioning matters a lot. There are over a dozen bosses. This gives the game high replay value. The economy is the game's strongest element. The battles have great variety. 1920s Chicago is beautifully rendered. The music is particularly strong. Empire of Sin is one of the most interesting mafia strategy games on the market. It sets in an atmospheric version of Prohibition-era Chicago and combines city-building, economics, and turn-based combat in a way that few other games do. AI and diplomacy hold it back from greatness, but after several years of updates, it's a much better experience than it was at launch. Fans of City of Gangsters, Jagged Alliance 3 , XCOM , and strategy games with management elements. $40 for this game is an absurd price. Not sure I'd even recommend it on a steep discount. Save your money.
Empire of Sin Review Empire of Sin brings forward an ambitious concept and unique ideas that could make for an exceptional strategy game. However, while the foundation is intriguing, the execution struggles to deliver the polished experience players might expect. The user interface feels unintuitive and clunky, often slowing down gameplay rather than enhancing it. The camera system also adds to the frustration—zooming out shifts the view to a city-wide perspective, which isn’t always practical when managing your immediate surroundings. Clicking on a location leads to slow transitions that hinder flexibility in navigating the game world. Starting the game can feel overwhelming, as notifications bombard the player from the outset. Unfortunately, the tutorial doesn’t provide sufficient guidance to ease this learning curve, leaving crucial mechanics unexplained. The pacing is another area where the game falters, often feeling dragged out and unnecessarily tedious. There’s also a noticeable imbalance, with the AI frequently launching unfair raids that players cannot adequately counter, making the challenge feel more punishing than rewarding. The money system, while central to gameplay, feels inconsistent and disconnected from the overall pacing. Diplomacy, a feature with great potential, falls flat—alliances are fleeting, and AI factions start off hostile, often forcing the player into conflict. This makes diplomacy feel more like an afterthought rather than a meaningful strategic option. Starting positions further emphasize the uneven experience. A good starting area can result in a dull, uneventful game, while a poor one can leave players overwhelmed and stressed as they contend with relentless pressure from rival factions. These inconsistencies detract from what could be a compelling and immersive experience. Empire of Sin has all the ingredients to be a standout title, but it needs refinement and balance to fully realize its potential. With improvements to its mechanics, pacing, and AI systems, the game could become a much more enjoyable and rewarding experience. I hope to see future updates or revisions that address these issues and help Empire of Sin live up to its promise.
