Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Sep 10 → 2/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

When you let nostalgia blind you from making bad design choices. So going to get this out of the way now. Flat out score is 4/10. Done and not going to change my mind unless you completely overhaul the game ok? OK! So allow me to explain the problems of this game a game to stuck in trying to copy a what 25 year old game at this point?, To do little more then make a failing copy that took a look at an overall AVERAGE game and do nothing to add any quality of life improvements and hoped being retro would carry this. Sadly it could not. Look I played Suikoden back when it first released, it was unique and good back then because it was such an original idea, but the game also made itself in both story and experimentation to MAKE it work. But over two decades later, that which was unique and new then is not old and outdated now. The Gameplay, the most important part of a damn GAME people, while not buggy in any obvious way, I can not be 100% sure of this just dude to how AWFUL so many of them gameplays design choices are to know for sure. Combat works well enough, for a game back on the ps1 era. But this isn't that era anymore. We have many gameplay improvements from the modern age such as the tech, to just design hindsight. Such as no quick save and using an awful autosave system governed over by a nearly dead sloth. Crappy save points systems which also need a quick kick to the curb cause a person who was once in their low teens before is now 43 and I have ♥♥♥♥ to dooooooooo! Having this system still in game it like having a life system, I get it in the right scenarios like dungeons. But FFS have a QS and let us save on the freaking world map from anywhere. But don't worry that's just the start of the outdated and bad design choices, the inventory is complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and needs to be put down. Back in the day disc space may have made this limited back not today people, there is no reason for limited inventory space unless you are a survival/horror game trying to create a sense of dread and unease, and double butter ♥♥♥♥ toast on limited stacks when it isn't something that will truly make the game harder or easier. Even more so when you make some of the items 2's and 3's or even 1's. Some items like escapes from dungeons can only be stacked to 3 before another one takes a slot, why? I mean what POSSIBLE reason could there be to limit those? Just let the damn things stack to 99. Combat is already a chore without dealing with the consist item manage it. The amount of time I was constantly full because I could only hold 6 herbs a stack and enemies drop several a fight it adds up and no way to sell them. Which leads us to one of the next big thing, the theme of Suikoden. The hundred plus characters, which worked decent enough as an experiment which was able to work here as the story gave context to the unique stars/runes that guided the person and gave most of them a unique skill. But it feels just pointless here and just done cause Suikoden did it. The characters could have literally been count down by close to 40 to 50 people. Most were just useless or just out done by several others with far better skills. While the game did have some goods ideas, one was having a reserve unit for story characters you were forced to use that way we can at most times keep the units we like. But one of the biggest problems was the support slot, Which in most cases should have just been a general passive skill. You only get 1 support slot, and one of the people you get makes so you can change people out at a save point, ok WHY? Just make it a unlocked mechanics for having them. Another was increased inventory space, again why? Just make it a passive buff for having got them as a town member. Some make it so you get more of materials for your town upgrades, but their was one who gave you more for ALL materials you get not just 1 type, sure it was slightly less but they respawn fast enough so just make these characters flat passives people. It's a waste mechanics. Of course this might cause you to experiment with characters is not for the stupidest mechanic in the party system. Anyone not in your main 6 slots don't get XP so nobody in reserve, support or in base don't level at all. Making it less likely to swap out unless they have a VERY unique skill like Reyna I mention early. But that was barely ever the case. Not that you would be able to find most of them as the next part, and this is a biggy cause many of the other issues could be looked past if not for the god awful way the game goes about EVERYTHING when it comes to the various content. It's hard to really word exactly the issue here to get across how awful they are. The game goes about lack player instructions. Finding characters and various story elements are just not hinted or explained. Example you had to go through a mineshaft to get to the the location in story to get your base started, after getting the base, it wants you to go find people, but because it didn't label in game anyway to get back to the mine to get to the older areas to get people like the item shop owner/ Forcing me to go through a large portion the game with a number of mechanics unusable, I had to progress til I got the person that teleports you til I was able to get back to older areas to then find out the was back to my base from the mine shaft was a damn well in the gravesite which is several rooms in and has no map icon to let one know its the way back. The game does this crap ALL the time it's lack of proper feedback leads to many issues, the biggest was getting the fortune teller, who I knew where they were but they wouldn't join me, I hadn't gone through the exact process to activate the flags which would get you the character. What was needed was that you needed to get your town to a certain level, get 3 just character with no real connection to anything or each other, and then approach a tiny section of the town you'd never go to from a specific direction to activate the cutscene to then go get the fortune teller who was needed to find the characters. The game does this ♥♥♥♥ ALL the time and requires most to constantly look up online guides cause some are so stupid you'd never consider it. Which leads to the thing I want to give SPECIAL hate to which are the F***ING mini games. And my god these are the point that made me almost give up on this game and was probbly almost 40 of my 60 hours of game play. Most are only used like 2 times and hardly work worth a crap. From controls reversing randomly on the stupid boat racing, to the boring marvel snap card game with the most out of place character designs you can think of like imagine of yugioh showed up in Kingdom Come Delieverence or dark souls, to the flat out horribly explained god awful pokemon beyblade. Special hate to 3 specific ones, the Bey blade, the Trading post and the cooking mini game. Poorly explained, bad feedback, and mostly luck based crap. That's if you even know how to start them as the cooking mini game is the worse, you have to talk to a random background character in the Inn who just looks like a normal generic chef model next to the restuarant so figure me game for not suspecting some random character in the background is an important side quest to get one of the final characters. In the end, this game getting anything about a 6 out of ten just confuses me and makes me believe nobody played any better RPG's Suikoden was ok , but I don't know anyone who'd point it anything higher then their top 25-50 spot as there are just vastly better Rpg's out there. I got it for 5 bucks also, so I just forced myself to finish out of stubborness. But overall how this game got all these high scores in the end just confuses me.

TL;DR: Not for everyone, or, more specifically, for those wanting something easygoing. The best way I can describe this game is that it has A LOT of things going all at once, but the execution of MANY of them is not good. Also if you are an achievement hunter be prepared to spend like 40h+ ( rough estimate) in the postgame. If you are someone who played lots of old JRPGS you probably won't feel as strongly as me, given you'd be used to having little to no directions and being confused on what to do/where to go most of the time. There's a lot of secrets no one tells you about: item shops needing luck/resets via savescumming, obviously a ton of recruitable characters that you can (and probably will) miss unless you follow a guide or waste 3 hours after every major story event backtracking to every city/map, minigame progressions requiring specific NPCs/party members etc. This would not be a problem if not for the fact that you basically unlock fast travel halfway through the game, when you'll probably already have missed tons of stuff. The UI feels old and unresponsive and the menus really feel more like something from the 90s the way they're set up; combat is, ironically enough, really boring in the first half and then it picks up, but to unlock skills you have to equip runes and there is no way of knowing exactly every skill a rune gives, or what the skills do, unless you equip it first and check the character screen/battle test it later. Even after fixes, there's a lot of bugs especially during cutscenes, dang, even the final boss one was bugged (and I see it wasn't only for me) and the END CREDITS/EPILOGUE SCENES I had to skip and check on Youtube later because they froze and wouldn't go on. A lot of the game feels like it's designed to make you waste extra time for something that could've been really simple to fix, from the menus to the exploration to the battle system. This is especially true for minigames: aside from a couple, every minigame requires little effort/minimal input but A TON of time, from fishing to the egg race, and those that require more attention overstay their welcome, but sometimes are almost mandatory, like the overly complicated cooking minigame NEEDED to unlock a character, or the beyblade ripoff requiring you to do a lot of backtracking and farming under specific conditions before even being able to progress. This is sad especially because the game is visually stunning at times, with this sort of 2.5HD that really pops. Only thing I didn't really like is that while all characters and NPCs have this wonderful pixel art, normal enemies are full 2D in the style of... let's say, early 2010s korean gacha games, you know, the ones with only a couple moving parts like marionettes. The bosses are fully 3D, but they work better this way. The story is good, the little bits of lore you get from extra recruitments and interactions between members are always welcome, the resolution leaves you satisfied. Sadly I can't see myself recommending this because of the above reasons, but I sincerely hope, if there's gonna be a next game for this series, that it will fix a lot of the problems of this entry: it's not even a matter of time in my opinion, but of focus on the right things, and I say this because there's a lot of effort and time put on some minor things like ONE single special cutscene with ONE single character, that is FULLY VOICED for every single character (they're 120) and each and every one of them has different lines, like come on, surely you could've done something else with all the time used to do this single 3 minutes scene. All in all, it's not a bad game per se, just feels like it could've been a lot more if it was focused on improving the most basic things like combat, UI, and general help to the player, instead of wasting lots of energy on secondary activities, that are always welcome but should not be the main priority. If you're still curious, and not an 'old-school' JRPG veteran like I said in the beginning, my best advice is to play using a guide from start to finish (specifying from start because I honestly think 99% of players have checked a guide at least once at some point during the game, for any of the myriad reasons explained)
7 hours in, and i can say, the game itself is kinda good, the dungeon is fricking long, 7 hours in, and i only clear the 2nd Mission Dungeon *included Grinding and upgrading Armor; Playing on Hard Like the battle system so far with the gimmick added in Boss Battle The only effing let down, the localization is effing bad, even the censorship is bad; using translation mod is a must The translator should be ashamed with this, do they have no pride to release this kind of translation? you getting paid for this rub a lub dub dub? Sake become watering hole? chud? "You sure it`s a he?" on a freaking STONE GOLEM Kinda hoping because this is the last game by the late Yoshitaka Murayama of Suikoden, but the rumor about the translation is true, whoever translate and localize this game should quit being a localizator Fans translation is better than this PoSht, at least fans translation is free, i feel developer got scammed by this localization because they pay for people to translate and localize this, and the end product is a such a let down I do reccomend the game for the game itself. but use translation mod
Pretty much agree with what everyone else here has already said. If you have an itch to play a JRPG Suikoden clone; this feels that niche very well. Very unpolished and lots of annoying game design choices but worth it overall just barely. The mini games are very grindy and take forever. The story doesn't really go anywhere and the stakes are rather low throughout. Mages are pretty much useless until late game, then they are super OP with rune setup and gear abusing SP. I enjoyed my time with the game but it's something I will never replay. 6/10 - recommend but only on sale.
It's a hard recommendation. The game is well made, full of love, with unique animations, interesting story and a cast filled with lovable and fun characters. But at the same time it also full of issues related to every single of these great aspects. There are 100s of heroes to be recruited in this game, with over 70 of them being usable in combat. Each of these heroes are unique, have their own niches, strengths and weaknesses, therefore, the combat system have to be as tepid and shallow as a puddle as a result. Boss fights have unique gimmicks that makes them unique, but the tradeoff is the common encounters become a slow grind. The implementation of auto battles without a speed up button is a big problem. The cast of 100 heroes are also huge. Each of them have their own story and reason they join the alliance. But that is it. There is no pay off. Once they join, unless they are important to the main plot, that is the limit to their story, save from hotsprings that allows heroes to interact with each other. In order to remedy this, sidequests which unlocks as story progress involving combinations of heroes, granting unique rewards would have been greatly beneficial to the length and interest in this game. As it stands, a lot of fun petered out by the end of the game. And then there are the minigames and all the different systems that are implemented throughout the game, ohhhh man. There are so much vestigial systems that are just useless and not fun to play like duel and wars. Minigames are fun, but the requirement to complete them drags on to the point where they all overstayed their welcome. 17 cooking battles? 120 card games? Racing breeding minigame with limited number of race for the creature you race with? Really? There is a lot of love and a lot to love in this game. But there's also a lot of problems with it. So keep that in mind. It's still a fun enough game that deserves a recommendation.
Eiyuden Chronicles: I recruited 100+ heroes, forgot some of their names. Hilarious theater scripts. Shi'arc race on gamepad? Glitchy—I had to switch to keyboard to win. Both Beigoma and the card game drag on like chores, and the secret mini-boss only looks scary if your team isn’t set up. No option to skip cutscenes. Yet somehow, the soul of Suikoden is still there—and that’s why I spent 200+ hours of my adult life with this. No regerts [sic], 100% completed, -1 backlog.
