childhood game was solid wish they would do a remaster like gothic 1 did

I like the look of the game, looks like 3D dungeon keeper, but the world is so empty and bland I cant keep wasting time walking across the map. The first city is a maze of same color buildings that I cant find my way around without a map. I was having decent fun in the city though, because there were some tasks people in the city want you to do for them (not tedious), and it feels more lively than the other parts of the world I went to. After the city was a snooze fest, I used to go off the dirt path to see any secrets, explore, but there is absolutely nothing, except from a rare, lazily placed chest. They like to spawn groups of NPCs in the wild to fight, but you can literally see them spawn which breaks immersion. When I finally found a town, the town I was told to go to, they wouldn't let me in, this is a common occurrence, walking forever just to be denied entry, and not told what you need TO enter. There are teleporters that would make it alot quicker to move around, but they require an item and after going everywhere I possibly can (cant go into most areas) I couldn't find that item. I know everyone says this but I really wanted to enjoy this game, I just cant waste any more hours wandering around this empty world.
