I've been using Dungeon Alchemist for about two to three years now and it works rather well. The tools provided are rather simple to use and anything you don't understand quickly can be easily explained in the forums or Discord server. I personally found it easier to just generate a room without any objects and decorate it myself but if you just need to quickly throw something together and maybe move one or two objects the AI works perfectly fine. Assets look very nice and are plentiful for the standard medieval fantasy theme. If you want to go for a different theme there is an asset importer so you can either make something yourself or there is a workshop. I have used Dungeon Alchemist as both a VTT of sorts ( I would stream DA on Discord for my players to see and would move around their miniatures as needed ) and also export maps to use in my VTT of choice ( Foundry ). In both ways Dungeon Alchemist has worked very well, although if I did have to choose I would probably go with an external VTT just on the nature that it can be difficult to communicate exactly where a player wants to move/go. Performance has never been an issue for me, although on my old computer (Laptop RTX 2060) I would have occasional frame drops while streaming and, rather funnily in my opinion, whenever I tried to click on an open door my game freeze for up to six minutes before figuring out what to do. On my new computer (Laptop RTX 4090) I haven't had any issues at all when it comes to performance. While I myself haven't done it people have used Dungeon Alchemist as just a sort of diorama maker (Similar to things like Tiny Glade) and have made some truly amazing things. Just know you will have to get very creative with the noclip/collide feature to make some really in-depth things. The last major thing to note is that the developers are honestly amazing. Very open with consistent updates with what they are doing and the issues they are running into. Dungeon Alchemist is a really ambitious project with nothing else on the market really offering everything that it has. The only other map maker I can truly recommend at the same tier of Dungeon Alchemist would be Dungeondraft. I fully expected there to be updates maybe once every three or four years and I would have still been happy but the dev's are making incredible progress and have completely blown my expectations out of the water.

It's got a decent setup for map-making and the option to view your creations from eye level, either as an entity or via free-form roaming (entity view requires a token character to "see" through). Sadly, little to no options to export outside the program that aren't flat top-down views, otherwise this app would have a lot more uses. Same with it being single player only. As is, to get the full experience with a group of friends so everyone can see what you made, you'd have to stream the experience. Not too handy when you use digital DM tools. Aside from that, the ease of use and frequent updates keep Dungeon Alchemist relevant.
This is everything I've ever wanted in a DnD map builder. Makes it so easy to make maps for my campaign and come up with ideas for my players. Only complaint is that the game does chug a bit with bigger maps despite my pretty beefy PC, but this can probably be chalked up to the early access status of the game needing a bit of optimization for larger maps. Still works great if you are patient of course! Pros - Intuitive and easy to use - Took me all of 5 minutes to make a really nice map - Helps you make a world that feels 'lived in' - Lots of options and tools to get the map just right - Ability to export map for use in VTT - NO GEN AI Cons - Could use some performance optimizations - I can't think of another con
Excelente criador de mapas, uma boa ferramenta pra quem quer se dedicar a fazer mapas, com os assets da comunidade torna tudo melhor mas bem que poderia ter mais assets de objetos modernos, não só medievais
It is the greatest software I have used. The levels for buildings has taken all of my maps into the 3 dimensional space and that is the most incredible experience I have had. All of my players gawk at how beautiful the maps are. And it isn't just fantasy elements I have made modern buildings for my Mutants and masterminds campaign. I am so glad that the team behind it cares about the product they create!
I never write negative reviews, but this software is SO frustrating! Aside from the needlessly restrictive functionality, it crashes constantly, fails to autosave, and brings every creative flow to a grinding, bitterly disappointing halt. Plays merry havoc with my ADHD and is just so disappointingly short of what it could be.
It is honestly great it gets a bit choppy after a bit but to be fair messed around with it for 18 hours straight.
Приложение офигенное, но прошу добавьте побольше ям- с травой, и другими текстурами, разрешите исправлять стены и полы в этих ямах пожалуйста, сделайте обновление с этажами!! Pleeeeease
schade das deutsch nicht unterstützt wird, grund es nicht zu nutzen für mich. daher habe ich es schon einigen nicht empfohlen
Make the map of your dreams! But you cannot use it unless you want it to be 2D..... Whatbis the point then?
