Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.86/day in the week to Aug 23 → 3.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Quite easy, but a well animated and well voiced little detective game with a fun story. Good few hour enjoyment!

I recommend if it's on sale. It's pretty short and less polished than other games in this series, but it's fun to see an earlier title!

Really good game. I managed to complete in under an hour only because I have played through this game several times on iOS. Excellent start or starting of the Detective Grimoire games. (depending if you count Fairgrounds (flash).)
Yeah, I know this is the first game in the series and it's dated a bit but I still can't give it a positive review. The Detective Grimoire have some kind of charming and memorable characters, funny dialogues (remind me Double Fine games), okay story, but its simplicity kills it for me. You're just running around a small area speaking with various persons and clicking the hell out of the scenery to find more clues. You haven't any interactions with clues like in classic point-and-click games, just gathering them to have more dialogue options. As I mentioned the 'story' is okay, because it is so primitive and short, that you'll get who is the killer after you speak with each character at least once. It is a good game for kids, but if you're not - better go play other, similar, but better detective deduction games like Foolish Mortals or Broken Age. I just hope next games in series are better.
This is a simple, whimsical, and cozy mystery game. It’s rather short, wrapping up comfortably in 2 to 3 hours. Fortunately for me, being somewhat lacking in the brains department, the detective work stays refreshingly straightforward rather than complex. I enjoyed it quite a bit: the dialogue was fun, most of the characters were charming, and putting the mystery together was pleasant. I liked it enough that I will gladly continue down the series and pick up the next installments. CURIO: Development on the franchise's direct follow-up, Tangle Tower, was put on a complete multi-year hiatus right in the middle of production because Nintendo approached SFB Games and commissioned them to create Snipperclips as a launch title for the Nintendo Switch. Only after Snipperclips Plus wrapped up did the team finish the game.
My feelings are mixed. I have no history with the series or the developers, so I just bought it based on the store page and the overwhelmingly positive reviews. It's certainly impressive for a 2014 indie game, but it feels underwhelming in the modern, post Obra Dinn era of detective puzzle games. It's more of a visual novel with periodic multiple selection quizzes rather than a puzzle game. You could solve it without any thinking just by trying out all reasonable combinations of options. It's not too far from late 90s edutainment games for primary schoolers, with the addition of murder. There is no highlight or text to indicate when whatever I'm hovering the cursor over is interactive or not. I guess that increases the challenge somewhat, but it's even worse than 90s LucasArts point & click games on that front. It is quite literally a big budget Flash game, and you can tell. It's hard to say exactly what gives it away, but I think it's the combination of the input lag, lack of keyboard controls, fixed-in-place UI elements and the mix of vector and raster assets. Graphically it's pretty good, especially for such a small production from over a decade ago. It is a shame that the best pieces of animation are rendered out as heavily compressed video files, instead of being played back in real time. Voice acting is a mixed bag. Most characters are well acted or at least not actively terrible, but it was really noticeable how much production quality and volume levels differ between characters or even individual voice lines. Understandable with amateur actors, but many of these issues would have been possible to fix in post. It's about 2.5 hours of pretty mindless pointing and clicking, a few good jokes, pretty clunky user experience, complete lack of "game feel" and some alright graphics, voice acting and music. At least it was cheap.
cute and short, i recommend it :) the art style is charming and the overall feel of the game reminds me of an old flash game honestly if you can, play this before tangle tower and the mermaid mask (first in the series, and larger appreciation for where the games after come from)
It's a brilliant, tightly designed game with a fun story and puzzles.
