Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.86/day in the week to Aug 23 → 3.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I bought this on sale for less than 2 buckaroonies with Tangle Tower, and it is definitely worth your time. I played this after Tangle Tower, but hey, that just made me appreciate it more! It's definitely a smaller game, but it has so much personality packed into it. The writing is funny, the voice acting is surprisingly good, and investigating everything never gets old. I kept talking to everyone multiple times just because the dialogue was that entertaining. The mystery itself is solid, and even though it's a lot more straightforward than Tangle Tower, it still managed to keep me invested the whole way through. Yes, I did predict who did it early on in the story, but I didn't even care because it was THAT awesome. You can really see the foundation for everything the series becomes later, which honestly made me appreciate both games even more. It's so fun seeing how Grimoire just picked Sally up from a random swamp and yup, they're detective partners now! Totally makes sense! SFB Games has no business making characters this charming. If you like cozy mystery games that aren't too long, this one's absolutely worth your time.

I played Tangle Tower last year and based on its quality decided to get this prequel -- then promptly forgot about it. Now that the newest title in the series is out, I thought I should finally play the first game (and giving The Mermaid Mask time to be patched). The first Detective Grimoire turned out to be a short game (~ 2 1/2 hours) on the easy side, but fun all around with excellent voice acting and intriguing characters. I finished it in one sitting. It's good. And now I am mentally ready to play the latest entry in the series. Note on the original Linux port of the game: I only got a black screen, but switching to the Windows version and letting Proton handle the rest solved all problems. Since the game is from 2014, it's not really all that surprising that whatever was used to make it work on Linux 12 years ago might no longer work (since soooo much has changed).
Fun little game! I love how there's a little foreshadowing for Tangle Tower :D
Cute little game, nothing complicated, the characters were charming. Could've been a bit longer.
简单的故事但还挺有意思,英文难度不高,整体流程比较顺畅
Short n' sweet, but well worth the price of admission. Unlike that one museum... A tad dated, but it's trivially easy to look past and adds to the charm! I like the "flash game vibe". 7/10 coulda maybe been a tad longer
Worth every penny
Short and sweet, beat the game in around two hours but I got it on sale. I would say for the love that was clearly put into the game its well worth full price. Voice acting, character design, writing, they're all amazing and I'm almost sorry I only just recently found out about this game. Looking forward to playing the next one!
Eeh, just okay. Too short and too easy. You can tell it's an old game by the audio and graphics. Also the fast forward button is buggy and sometimes skips more than it should.
