Desperados III is a story-driven, hardcore tactical stealth game, set in a ruthless Wild West scenario. Play smart if you want to succeed. A good plan can make the difference between survival and finding yourself at the business end of a pistol.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2/day in the week to Aug 8 → 2.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Nota: 10/10
Fun but can be repetitive and frustrating. This is basically a puzzle game and indeed, in many ways, it's the same puzzle over and over again. You work your way through a level, where there will be groups of three or four enemies with overlapping viewcones and a patrolling guard and you have to work out which one to take out first and how to unpick the overlapping viewcones of the rest to neutralise them all. And then you move onto the next group. There's usually only one 'golden path' and you've got to figure that out then follow it. You have five different party members and they each have two or three abilities so there's quite a bit of variety in strategy but the game often restricts you to only some of them - or even one of them - at a time and sometimes takes their weapons / abilities away. It does make each level different but can also mean you end up over rely on the same trick for chunks of time, over and over again eg putting a trap down then whistling to lure enemies to it. It's much more interesting when you're comboing characters and abilities - and there are some tough viewcones puzzles to crack - but, when you do get to do that, the controls can be a bit clunky, characters can do stuff you really didn't expect them to and the plan-then-execute "showdown" feature isn't as strong as it could be. It's fine for simple actions but it doesn't let you queue multiple actions, sequence actions or even stagger actions. It feels a bit too basic for the game. I actually thought normal difficulty was more fun; the detection meters are a lot more forgiving so you can risk sprinting across open ground or pulling out your six shooters and going loud. It's probably not the solution that was envisaged but it means you can mix things up a bit a bit more. That said, even on normal you're going to need to reload quite a bit - and sometimes over and over again - till characters do what you want, when you want and the viewcone gods let it work. When it does work though, there's definitely that "I like it when a plan comes together" feeling. Overall, while it can be frustrating, if you like stealth puzzle type games, it is pretty fun. And, for bonus points, it's a western game. There aren't exactly many western games around and it's pretty well done here. The environments are gorgeous and very old west, the characters are fun if stereotypical, and the story's not to shabby. It also oozes character - I loved the end of mission replays for instance. Given it's less than $5 on sale, I'd say go for it if you have any interest in the genre. But be aware it's a stealth puzzle game, not something like xcom.

I know the game is received extremely well, but it just isn't for me. Both Shadow Tactics and Desperados III scenarios feel very unrewarding in terms of the outcome. You spend long minutes deciding on a strategy, make a few trials and errors until it succeeds, and move on to another encounter. The strategy for dealing with enemies is the same across every game by Mimimi – removing enemies one by one depending on their view cones and patrol areas, occasionally using the environment. A direct approach is heavily penalized, while the stealth approach takes ages, and the good feeling of success fades away quickly after you do the same similar thing over and over for hours. The game is great, no doubt, but for me it's a constant search for dopamine that never comes.
If you're familiar with Shadow Tactics, this is the Spaghetti Western version of that game. It has a great storyline, unique characters with different abilities, and I believe anyone looking for a great real-time tactics (RTT) game will love it. It took me 43 hours to finish the game on Hard mode (without the DLC). Sadly, the developer is no longer active, but they created a game that has left me and many other players with memories we'll never forget. Thank you!
good

Guns Blazing - Filippo Beck Peccoz

Desperados 3 is an amazing tactical stealth game. The story follows a group of dangerous misfits who come together in the Wild West, causing chaos everywhere they go. With guns, poison, traps, and sometimes dynamite at their disposal, they always seem to have a clever plan, a sharp joke, or a bit of dark humour ready for every situation. One of the highlights of Desperados 3 is its intricate level design, which allows for multiple approaches to each mission. My only small issue is how the devs intended quicksaving and reloading to be an integral part of the gameplay. Since mistakes can be undone so easily with no real consequences, it can sometimes feel more like a puzzle game with an undo button than a traditional real-time tactics game. Despite that small issue, I still highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys stealth, strategy, or tactical games.
It’s an okay game – neither great nor terrible. You can get through all the levels with little effort by making good use of F5 and F8. The story isn’t essential or particularly important. It’s a nice game to pass the time with, so I wouldn’t pay more than €10 for it.
