I'm too old for this, my eyes and fingers and brain hurt after an extended play session, but man does it feel good to nail those gold medals. A wild, very anime, high-speed labor of love.
What if Subway surfers and Jet Set Radio has a child ? The game is amazing in all aspects I would not change a thing
I absolutely love this game so much. The colors are vibrant and very reminiscent of old Sega, namely Jet Set Radio, with super cool artwork and a really great OST. Denshattack is super fast paced, in the vain of Sonic the Hedgehog, which can be a little jarring at first and sometimes got a bit overwhelming for me, however the game never felt dull. They are constantly throwing new mechanics at you in pretty much each chapter. No chapter overstays its welcome, and by the time you've mastered the previous mechanic, something even more fun and interesting gets introduced.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ incredible game
Rad as hell Rail-Skater😎😎😎🚞🛹. Like Tech Decks with a caboose. Very endearing artstyle and wonderful music. Plays great on steam deck right out the box.
As a Tony Hawk & Sonic fan, this game really tickles the brain. Top tier soundtrack, phenomenal gameplay from beginning to the end, and it really tests everything you learn throughout the game!
incredible game. i honestly couldn't put it down for a while. it got to the point where every time i completed an act, i would go back and get every single dare and try to complete the tracks as fast as i could. the gameplay in this game is addictive and insane and it really keeps you on your toes. this was definitely one of my favorite games ever, i have very little qualms with it. good things: pretty much everything. the music, the bosses, the track designs, the tricks, the trains, almost ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ everything. this game bleeds sincerity into its code and everything was carefully thought out and executed well. the characters are cute and loveable, the lore and story is pretty good and there's a specific niche to this game that i can't quite put my finger on. if you have even a little appreciation for trains, this game will get you obsessed with them. while i was playing this game, it brought me back to my childhood. i grew up with thomas the tank engine and i loved rollercoasters, only for that to be diminished by adulthood where you have to focus on the main tasks at hand. this game brought me back to when the most important things to me were rollercoasters and trains, and it made me feel safe again. it made me feel seen. sorry to get weird and emotional here, i'm not sure why this game gives me such big emotions, but i just want the developers to see this and know that they made something truly special that can't be created just by anyone. there's a specific childhood, a specific niche, a specific moment that makes games like this truly special. i never wanted this game to end, and now i can't play it for the first time again, i feel a little empty, but i think it's nice to know that something like this can make you feel that way. bad things: the only reason why i even want to put this here is because i loved this game to death. i loved it to the point where i the flaws where a little obvious, but i also was very picky because i love this game so much and i want to give as much feedback as i can. of course there are bugs in the game, but it's nothing crazy. this game just came out, so i used my skills in the game to overcome certain bugs that would make you crash randomly. not a big deal, didn't make the game unplayable. the story was good. i think the set up was amazing, but the actual plot during the game didn't seem to crazy. it was a very normal story and i would've liked some more twists and turns, but it's still good. very anti-establishment and anti-capitalism and i like the message it sends, but it could've been a little more interesting. another thing that kind of annoyed me was double-drifting. the trick itself is cool and i like it a lot, but when you go in reverse in a boss chase or the magnet tool, you have to do something different and it always threw me off. when you are in reverse/upside down, everything is normal except for double drifting. to get into a different lane normally, you just double drift that way twice, but if you're in reverse/upside down, you have to double drift to the side you want to drift on, and then double drift in the opposite direction. i don't know if this was intentional, i would've liked to see that in the instructions (if they were there then please ignore this part but also know that it was a little annoying). the final gripe i had with this game was the ending. the 9th act felt very short and rushed and the "boss fights" weren't nearly as exciting or intense as all of the other bosses in the game. i got the point that it's the "power of friendship" part of the game, and i liked the spots where earlier bosses would show up and help you, but the vactrain itself doesn't do anything except move. i would've liked it if it were more of a boss fight and less of a race, but that's mainly because this isn't actually the final boss. the final boss is a moon base that doesn't fight back at all. it was cool, but i really wanted something more than just destroying a moon base and then that's it. it was a little disappointing because every single boss in this game was so well designed and fun to fight that it was disappointing that the final bosses didn't pose too much of a threat/excite me, but i think i know why. it's obvious this game has been in development for a while. everything is very well made with very little bugs, so i'm sure the developers were just rushed with the ending, which i get, but still. i loved this game so much and i was so excited for the ending, but i was a little disappointed. that being said, i still feel like there's a lot of room to grow here. my biggest advice to the developers: MAKE A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DLC PLEEEEEEAAAAAAASSSSSSEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! make a dlc that has the most insane and hard bosses. it would be so sick to have extremely hard tracks and bosses to mess with. i know the story is complete, but y'all are creative, y'all can think of something. maybe it could be a prequel? idk, i'm not developing this game so it's not really my say, but i think it would be so sick. my final say: again, i'm not sure why this game speaks to me on so many levels. despite my gripes, this was still an incredible game. also i would love to see some merch from this game. like yes shirts and posters, but i think it would be so sick to make model trains or figures of the bosses. i would sink good money into that ♥♥♥♥ because everything in this game is well designed and could be so marketable. not trying to make this capitalistic, i just really like this game and some physical merch would fulfill my dream of being a denshattacker <3. anyways, thank you so much. rating: 9.5/10
