Carissa Ward was all set to start her new job as the VP of marketing--until YOU hit her with your truck and transported her consciousness to a world of fantasy and magic! Rather than accept her fate, gathering a party and going on a journey of growth and self-discovery, Carissa uses all her knowledge of anime tropes and Japanese RPGs to find a different path:

Pressed into the service of the newly-incarnated buff anime elf, you'll speed your magic delivery truck to complete objectives across two worlds in a focused and flavorful OVA-sized campaign, running over pedestrians, sending them to another world as Truck-kun, and helping Carissa power up a Galactic Gate with the stars you generate together. The Skeleton King waits on the other end of the great divide, and the only way Carissa is getting home is to take a Scroll of Resurrection from his weird, dead, bony hands.
Good luck!!!
Dodge cops, make deliveries, and smash through objects in the chaotic small town of Wenvale, USA!
Complete objectives across two worlds to power up a Galactic Gate with stars and unlock a subversive, heartwarming story rooted in our love for anime.
Run over pedestrians to turn them into monsters Carissa can slay for stars and XP. It's fine! Don't worry! Stop thinking about it!!
Energetic, ska-inspired soundtrack by award-winning composer David Mason (Dredge, Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 3).

The concept is solid and the loop is fine, but the main issue I have with this game is the lack of content. If anything, it probably would have done better as an early access model. Currently, truck customization is locked behind a week 1 update patch and the game only has a single map, and once you've memorized the layout and locations of certain objectives and points of interest there really is not much to do other than continue doing the same run loop for higher stars. The writing is fine and fits the tone of the game, but that's the only progression marker you have in terms of content; get enough stars and do one other objective and you unlock some more dialog. I had been excited for this after playing the demo during Next Fest, but with the game launch containing no additional content beyond that demo, this is a hard pass in its current state.
I was super excited for this game leading up to release. Played the demo, followed the updates. Was pumped! And I'm really sad to say that this game is very lacking. The demo basically is the full game :( It gets repetitive so quickly and there isn't really any tangible progression. No additional maps, not upgrades, nothing to keep you playing. This would make a great lil arcade game. The gameplay is genuinely fun but with little to no variety and no progression systems to make you feel like you are working towards something (other than an arbitrary checklist of objectives), I can't help but feel this game is drastically overpriced. This is a 5$ experience. That all being said, I am holding out hope that through updates this game will be made worth your time and money. But as is, play the demo. It's basically the full game

It's all right. That's about the best I got for it. That's about the most it had for me. And I think that aptly describes the experience. On paper, it has a relatively decent gameplay loop similar to Crazy Taxi that revolves around a pretty likeable story and some objectives that you can pull together leading to a 'climactic showdown' at the end with a pretty zany premise. The reality is that the game is nowhere near as fleshed out as it should be for the 15-20 dollars that they're asking for this right now. About four hours in and I had all but one achievement and the last (currently 0.2%) one is basically getting 1000 tasks done. Do it if you want the proof kind of deal but not one that the vast majority of players will want to offer up their time for when the time comes. I come out of the experience slightly disappointed. I feel like you could've done better than one relatively small map for the experience, I feel the delivery system that was put in was an afterthought, I felt the story just represented the main ideas at any given plot point and wasn't thoroughly fleshed out like it should've been, and the list keeps going - it's not a finished product. If this was a first outing game for this crew, I'd feel like this would be something to expect and could just use a little polish but this doesn't appear to be the case with several games already existing from this team. I feel like they should consider working at what they have a little bit more before they decide to release something half-baked as this. If you must, get it on deeper discount. This feels more like a $5-10 product than a $15-20 at this time...and I feel like a good chunk of people would be disappointed even then. There's something here but it's nowhere close to as realized as it should be.
Gosh, but I wanted to root for this one. Everything that draws you to the concept is there: astounding premise, tight and arcadey driving, some hilarious and touching dialogue. I *do* recommend it for the audacity and charm, as that is its strongest suit. There's just nothing beyond that. The loop in run one and run 30 are almost identical, the objectives never evolve, and there isn't a sense that anything you're doing is helping Carissa beyond the basics. Even some objective variety tied into her place in the quest would have gone a long way towards making it feel more worth my time. I'm glad it exists and happy I finished it, but if the purpose of a review is to tell you if something's worth the price, YaYa-kun Is Supporting You Waiting For A Sale!!!
Fun concept but shallow and repetitive gameplay with only one level which you play over and over.
I hate to say it, but I'm disappointed. The concept is fun, quite silly, and entertaining. Driving around causing chaos is quite amusing with the idea of slaying enemies at the same time. But after five runs or so, it clicks. You're doing the exact same thing, over and over. Nothing changes. No new areas, no new features... Nothing. You just keep getting given grindy milestones to progress in the story, which doesn't unlock anything at all. If you tried the demo, you've honestly already seen everything. Bad news is that they took the demo down, but the good news is that you aren't missing anything right now. It's possible that they might add a second map or something in an update, but sadly I wouldn't count on that. All in all, a fun concept, but executed poorly, leading to it feeling tedious very quickly. I was looking forward to it, but for now, I wouldn't recommend it. (I'll probably complete it anyway just so I can see how it ends, but I'll be in pain all the way through)
The game has a set up for a cute and funny premise, squandered by the overall objective of the game. The title is somewhat missleading as most of the stuff you're doing are objects: "Don't drift for 10, destroy 5 wooden objects, destroy 1 armoured object". The "helping" referes to the monsters you send her and the power you give her sword, thats it. Killing 5 enemies contributes 1 star which does nothing to impact the overall game play. To progress the story, you have to complete milestones that only relate to objectives in the most literal way. Milestone will display "Boost for 300,000" or something but an in outing objective will be "boost for 100" so its fractional in how it impacts the thing to progress the very bland and slow story. The game is overly repetative and genuinly after the 3rd run I was sick of it. None of the people you hit really say anything of value, the police are annoying and thats about it. Nothing funny, nothing to do but collect time (limited to a max of 10 min) and objects (which do nothing) Good luck to the devs but genuinly disappointed (Missing 1 achievement and its bugged)
The game is pretty fun, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is it overpriced for how little content there is in it, and that includes the launch discount it currently has. Most of the objectives (and also achievements) are extremely boring, with incredible gameplay elements such as "drive for X seconds" in a game where all you do is drive all the time, or "run into X amount of Y object" where you're either new at the game so you have no idea where these objects spawn, or you had to deal with that objective once so you already know where to look Keyboard controls are ass and there is currently no option to rebind them (WHY THE HELL IS DRIFT BINDED TO B) The max time for every run is extremely limiting considering how easy it is to hit as soon as you slightly understand the game This feels like a game that you pick up for like $3 at most and play once or twice, but at least those few times are fun. I do enjoy the core gameplay even if the movement feels a bit awkward sometimes, and if the game is actually expanded and the objectives are reworked I'll probably change this review
As pretty much everyone else has said, the game is cute and the premise is interesting. But there's no substance to it. Every run in the same and the only incentive to keep playing is more dialogue. they don't add anything new to the gameplay
Definitely fun, but the content here is extremely limited for the price. I'd say get it on sale. It being just a single map limits a lot of it's potential.
