Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 7.71/day in the week to Aug 19 → 13.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

New Game Mode - Kingdoms - Now Playable!
“This squalid Kingdom, these corrupted lands, they are yours now, and you are bound to them.”
Kingdoms is an entirely new stand-alone strategic campaign game mode available to play now in Darkest Dungeon II.

Manage a persistent roster of heroes, gather resources, and pursue an epic questline in order to track down and defeat the source of evil before all is lost.

Progress in each game mode is tracked separately, and you can freely switch back and forth between active sessions of either.
Kingdoms is being released in thematic modules, each focusing on a different enemy threat. All three adventure modules - “Hunger of the Beast Clan”, “Secrets of the Coven”, and “Curse of the Court”- are available now!

Gather your courage and ride out into the chaos of a world undone.
Four heroes and a stagecoach are all that stand between darkness and salvation.

I wish they would've added these graphics to Darkest Dungeon 1 and sold me that instead. My favorite hero, Ditmas the gun/knife guy, nerfed to hell. Your party has very few AoE options and most are limited to hitting 2 enemies in very specific spots, with severely nerfed damage. In DD1, your heroes felt more capable, in this one the stress brings them down much faster than in the first game, and the results of stress tend to be negative unless you've spent all of your focus building their "relationships". Overall a downgrade in the gameplay loop, the progression is less felt and it feels like a waste of time designed for masochists. The first game was challenging enough, with a chance to be rewarding. This game is extra challenging with the only goal being to make you suffer as you slowly progress by playing countless runs to collect candles and hope you do slightly better the next run. Honestly I wish I could get my money back, the first game is a clear winner and the only upgrade here are the visuals. Btw, Reynauld the Crusader, a key hero from the first game, has to be unlocked... they don't even give you one of the main heroes of the game as a standard, it would make more sense to make us unlock the Duelist or some other heroes. This game feels like a slap in the face, if you're into that, spend your money. Otherwise, if you like a challenging/dark game, play the first, value your own time since the Devs didn't on this one. 2/10, do not recommend. The first game was a solid 8 or 9. The last straw for me was a boss that has tons of health (more than your entire party combined) and is joined by two literal pieces of meat. The pieces of meat AoE your party, effectively stunning them. The boss AoE's your party AND has up to 3 turns at a time, does massive damage, and can poison your party. Getting squad wiped in the very first setting, by the very first lair boss encountered is crazy when your party starts off the fight fully healed. Every single enemy can pile on the stress. Daze the boss? Doesn't matter, he uses one turn to get rid of the daze and 3 turns to destroy your party.

I'm sure it's a fine game for people who haven't played the first game, but this is no "Darkest Dungeon 2". It's a completely different game that appeals to a completely different audience than the first game. I cannot recommend this game to anyone who played the first game. I really wish they would have just brought the design of the first game to another level instead of making this spin-off that should not be considered a sequel.
weird one to get a review done for this one. wanted to revisit it but there were just so much changes after all the patches and there is just so much to read up on and theroy craft that u get instanty discoured to even start a run. honestly everything pisses me off about this game. the fact that the bountyhunter is a once of recruit that replaces another, the banter pisses me off, the rng pisses me off and even the good rng pisses me off because when good relation ship happens it is bound to skills and the skills are usualy ♥♥♥♥ and not the one you focused on so thats right up a middle finger into your face. the animations and the traveling speed basicly force you to play with 2x speed so turn on your faithful cheat engine boys. the animations are so complex that all the workshoppers basicly said "nuh ah ♥♥♥♥ that ♥♥♥♥ i aint gonan create it, way too much work for it fam". to be honest i couldnt even be bothered to check the new mode out because there was just so much tutorial and text... NO I CAN'T!!! the devs had a winning formular and took a ♥♥♥♥ on it and created a mess
I do not understand how the same team can make one of the best roguelites of all time and then follow it up with complete slop. ♥♥♥♥ combat, ♥♥♥♥ progression, ♥♥♥♥ events, even the art style has been downgraded. ♥♥♥♥ this game.
Who had a lobotomy and decided you cant heal people unless they are under 50 or 30 percent health??? One bad fight and you have 4 characters nearly dead with no chance of recovery. Game looks beautiful but after two hours that man and arms swing animation cant carry this. Me stagecoach is full, I dont have a clue whats good enough to keep with this code and token language they use and my "heroes" hate each other cause they spoke during the ride. Go play black reliquary think theyre doing an update soon.
If you enjoyed DD 1 and are looking for more, don't come here. I loved DD1, having a central base to upgrade and sending groups out on missions from there. That is all gone here. They removed all of the permanency from DD1 and turned it into a slay-the-spire like game instead.
Good looking game, overly punishing with no way to recover from bad relationships. Wanted to like so bad due to the beautiful art style and voice acting but the gameplay is so souless and boring
I don't know why this game doesn't mesh with me. The art is beautiful. The animations are quality. Most characters have well designed skills that work together and with a team. It's just not fun or satisfying for me. There isn't any payoff after enduring a game that takes a lot of time. I rediscovered this game recently and upon learning of the Kingdom game mode was delighted - I thought it would fix every issue I had with the confession style gameplay. It didn't. Standard difficulty was incredibly slow (and these campaigns last 10-20 hours). Stygian had a better pace, but at a point you've got every trinket you can for your heroes and maxed out mastery. From then it's a multi hour endurance against cryptic clues. At a point it becomes less enjoyable for me and more about just getting it over with. I sat thinking about the exact issues I had, but kept erasing what I wrote. Maybe that means there's a more systemic issue. Nothing is individually terrible, but all together it's discordant. I want to enjoy it, and I'm sad I can't.
Ages away from the classic Darkest dungeon experience. if you are looking for a tactical party manager adventure rpg this game is not for you. Everything in this game is purely based on luck and i don't know what the f* they were thinking. No way i have to read and study through 3 wiki pages just to try and organize a party (before embarking on 4 regions not even knowing if i reach the confession boss) to beat it, if the previous game had the possibility to build up a character by farming and upgrading and exploring this one has your hands tied up behind you back. And what do you even mean that if i want to prepare a strong group for (lets say) the third confession boss i have to start ALL OVER from the first confession and go through 2 chapters hoping nobody dies while building memories just to get "maybe ready" for that confession? oh right! you want to keep strong trinkets? forget about it everything gets lost after beating 1 confession. Want to play kingdoms? yeah sure a fine mode surely its better than the ♥♥♥♥** campaign, at this point im sure a bunch of extreme masochists designed this kind of gameplay.
