Great experiment, but no the greatest game in series. Everything feels clunky and there are a lot of gotcha moments which hurt the design and don't make sense - traps, strange location connections and badly refined aesthetics. The bosses feel like they are not up to the pace and many of them are not very inventive or interesting. Still has its moments and it is a great step towards the evolution of the genre.
FromSoftware's first sin
Peak dos Peak, melhor souls
My personal favorite of the Souls trilogy and undeniably a great game but some may enjoy it more then others depending on what you are looking for in the game. The RPG aspects are the best in the series and rivals ER, the world is a pleasure to partake in and explore and the best PvP of any souls game or souls like to date and has never been replicated. My only real gripes I could have with the game are some minor enemy layout decisions, I dislike how certain areas make you feel forced into pulling enemies one by one with something like a bow. Otherwise this game is genuinely peak and offers something neither 1 or 3 come close to and I think its obvious why ER replicated so much of DS2. All Achievements: Not terrible however I did hate being forced into NG++ just to do all achievements. They should have offered other means to covenant items outside of just locking it behind NG++. Unlike DS1 I dont think DS2s all achievements really feel like it enriches the experience and moreso just gives you a checklist to work through. Not the worst by any stretch but could have been better.

Dark horse of the series? maybe. Make your own opinion of the experience rather than listening to youtubers opinions about everything. I'm having a blast playing this.
Despite what people say about this being the weakest link in the Fromsoftware franchise, I think that Dark Souls II is a masterpiece. The almost 60 hours I have spent in the past month or two playing this game have been amazing. This game has an amazing world that is magical and unique, as well as cool features and story woven into it. I think the NPC interactions are all really good as well, more so than most games. There is also more content than what meets the eye, as there are many secret bosses that are hard to find but well worth it to research how to find after beating the main game and DLC. Both 2 endings to this game are quite cool, primarily the more secretive second ending, which has an extra boss at the end which makes it up for the lackluster final boss for the main ending. There are countless weapons, spells, hexes, and pyromancies and many builds to try. The game is very generous with the amount of souls given from bosses leaving me with hundreds of thousands I did not spend because I wanted a challenge. This eliminates the complaint that people often have about the ADP stat which helps with i-frames, because you should have more than enough souls coming your way that it makes no difference and leaves it as a cool feature. There was probably only 1-2 attacks that have bad hit boxes, which I was expecting more from what I had heard. I also think this game has very memorable music and is truly special. This game even has 3 DLC to do, they are quite difficult but overall are very well made (excluding one hidden area with a duo boss that almost made me quit). I think some of my favorite bosses in gaming are from the second DLC and were very fun to fight. Here are some honest ratings I will give aspects of the game Creativity - (10/10) Music - (9/10) Graphics - (10/10) Level Design - (10/10) Bosses - (6/10) Build Variety - (9/10) NPC Interactions - (10/10) Jolly Cooperation - (7/10) Overall Score (10/10) Overall this game has left a lasting impact on me and will forever be one of my favorite games.
