About
Cronos: The New Dawn is a brutal third-person survival horror where you fight for the future by salvaging the past. Burn monsters before they merge. Extract souls from the living. Adapt or die.

Set in a grim world where Eastern European brutalism meets retro-futurist technology, Cronos: The New Dawn lets you experience a gripping story that straddles the line between past and future.
In the past, you will witness a world in the throes of The Change, a cataclysmic event that forever altered humanity. Meanwhile, in the ravaged wastelands of the future, every moment is a fight for survival against dangerous abominations that will test both your reflexes and your tactical thinking.
You are a Traveler working for the enigmatic Collective, tasked with scouring the wastelands of the future in search of time rifts that will transport you to 1980s-era Poland.

In a desolate world filled with ever-present danger, your survival hinges on your ability to strategize and plan ahead. The enemies you’ll encounter are nightmarish creatures, born from the remnants of humanity – defeating them will require you to make full use of your arsenal.
You can manipulate temporal Anomalies to clear a path through the desolate environment, and will have to scavenge for resources to replenish your limited ammo and supplies. Good preparation is key. Once in battle, split-second decisions can mean the difference between life
and death.
The creatures you kill won’t stay dead for long. Fallen enemies can be absorbed by others — through a grotesque process called Merging — to become faster, tougher, and far deadlier.
The only way to stop them? Burn their bodies. And do it fast.
If you don’t, you’ll face ever-evolving abominations that will push your combat skills to their limits.

Your mission is to locate key people from the past who perished in the ensuing apocalypse. Using your all-powerful Harvester, you can extract their Essences and have them accompany you into the future.
But be wary: these essences have a profound impact on your journey.
The more you carry, the more haunted your suit becomes — increasing your prowess on the battlefield but also bringing with them whispers in your ear and flickers into your vision, edging you ever closer to madness.

Reviews
This is an excellent survival horror game. Absolutely love it.
First of all, this is not a "whole new breed of survival horror" as the description states. It is very much your standard third-person survival shooter with linear levels. If you played Dead Space, RE4 or the Silent Hill 2 remake, you know exactly what you are getting. But it does scratch that itch pretty well.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I absolutely loved this game. Cronos: The New Dawn is easily one of the best survival horror games I've played. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, and you can clearly feel the influence of Resident Evil and Silent Hill, but honestly, I don't care. It takes those inspirations and does a fantastic job with them. The atmosphere is incredible. The soundtrack is excellent, the sound design is great, and the combat is brutal in exactly the right way. There is something really satisfying about the weight and violence of the fights, and the whole game has this oppressive atmosphere that kept me hooked. My only real frustration was the PC performance. On my system, I had to get my hands dirty with the settings and spend some time tweaking things, especially to deal with the stuttering. It took some experimenting with upscaling, frame limiting and RTSS, but once I found the right settings, the game became a really smooth and enjoyable experience. For me, this is exactly what I want from a modern survival horror. It may not reinvent the genre, but it executes the formula extremely well. Highly recommended.
Honest Review: One Liner: "Such is our calling" A Survival Horror game, heavily influenced by Dead Space, Resident Evil and Silent Hill, you can quite see the progression of Bloober Team through their games. If you have played any of the aforementioned or Layers of fear or Callisto Protocol this one is for you. Overall a good game, performance is Meh, still seeing stutters from time to time, good graphics, story holds up, gameplay is good enough to make a 2nd Run in game plus Buy if looking for your next horror/action experience, no brainer if on sale
If The Evil Within was a love letter to Resident Evil 4, Cronos: The New Dawn definitely looks like a love letter to Resident Evil 7 to me; both games share a sense of uneasiness that lingers throughout the duration of the whole campaign. You don't feel like you lack the means to succeed, but danger is always around the corner and it builds up in a satisfying way. I'd say Cronos is a bit more challenging overall if compared to RE7. I'm also pretty sure that every media labelled this game as a sort of Dead Space clone but it's immediately clear that it's (surprisingly) more than just that; foremost, Dead Space was undoubtedly a tribute to the whole Resident Evil saga in the first place so, we're going full circle, as always.
Gameplay
The gunplay is on point. Every weapon feels like it should dislocate your shoulder when shooting with it and sometimes enemies go flying like paper planes when you hit them in the right spot; they have clear weaknesses and none of them felt unfair to fight at all. Music is unnerving and subtle, sci-fi synth leading into mystery/horror/suspense just works, serving its purpose pretty well--restrooms feature their own theme and in few locations you get bombarded by bulgarian angels singing in latin from the heavens...yeah well it's pretty cool now that I think of it.
Story builds up strongly, but...
Poland...or what's left of it, is the protagonist of a viral contamination that is turning everyone careless enough to leave their homes (or so THEY say...) into inhumane horrors, depending on how severe the exposure was. You come in as The Traveler, an agent working for this higher entity/corp/organization called The Collective which aims to supposedly save some high profile people and fix the whole mess going on in there. I think it is meant to be confusing for the most part, or at least until you pick up all the pieces. Overall an engaging story that
gets suddenly alted by a semi interpretative bittersweet ending (that I'm sure it will make sense after looking for something up which I don't mind after having finished it) and some of the choices you make and the decision that you take about "something else" may impact way more than you get led to believe.

Conclusions
Apart from some goofy camera angles in some of the cutscenes and a couple of hit & miss "bosses" encounters it is really hard for me not to love this game for how well crafted it is. Atmosphere is the real king in this world and it makes everything so much more entertaining. I never felt like I had to rush somewhere, I took my time to inspect, read and walk around every corner without feeling like I was getting side tracked or straight lost. Crafting has got purpose and the level design is how every company should approach world building when settling for a semi-linear game. It shows that this very same studio made the Silent Hill 2 Remake, and honestly...I wasn't expecting to be this invested in Cronos at all. So, in the end, Cronos: The New Dawn is a complete package with some forgettable hiccups that get outshined by a very solid mix of working stuff borrowed from other similar games prior to it and a strong entry to the genre, a must for Resident Evil/Dead Space third person view enjoyers.
