Reviews
This developer has been working on the same game for decades and still somehow finds a way to make each entry more epic than the last. Its the Creeper world game you expected, except now in 3D!
The meticulous, Predictable, unwaning, Flow of Death Honey. The gentle reaping Of steady dopamine drips. The need to zone out.

I really wanted to give this game a recommendation, but there are glaring flaws underlying it that cause me to not recommend it. It is overall a decent game, but has one fatal flaw: It's unfair. I don't mean to say that it's hard, but the problem is that NOTHING is explained to you. At all. You can dedicate hours to a mission, only to lose to some secret mechanic that was never actually explained. You can go the entire campaign not knowing about important features because not only are they not explained to you, but not even related features are. They are not even hinted at. I learned more about the basic features of the game from google than I did through the game itself. In the end, the game is unfair. It is unfair not because it is difficult, but because it hides the rules from you, and capitalizes on your ignorance.
Something about this series resonates with me. Getting to the point where you're holding your own against the onslaught and then pushing forward against the tide makes me happy.
I love the whole creeper world series, and there is so much content. Such a great value and so much fun, there isn't a game like it either!
I enjoyed the previous entries to the series. This one, for its price, just feels like a step back for no real gain. The towers felt lack luster, the 19th mission is a ♥♥♥♥ design, the inability to manually dictate build priority is G A R B A G E design for a strat game, the beacons see little to no use and feel pointless beyond 2-3 missions, Platforms are given far too late, SKIMMERS ARE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ STUPID, sentinels are beaten by deforming terrain and feel entirely pointless beyond slowing the player for a total of 5 minutes....... I really did enjoy creeper world 3 and 2, and enjoyed the space game they did. I do NOT recommend this game at full price.
It's a great game even though I think the story is ... weird, at best. Gameplay rewards planning and has plenty of strategy.
for the first time in creeper world history we get proper 3D graphics to add some bling to the game. ... however in practice that doesn't really work out all that well. the perspective often gets in the way of quick and efficient clicking on stuff when sh!t hits the fan, the camera controls are not great and after all that the game doesn't even look all that good! what's the point?! like the last creeper world game this one isn't as casual as it looks. playing tired and half-drunk in the middle of the night gets you nowhere quick. again ask me how i know! even more new enemy units and new towers to counter them as well as new types of resources and the buildings required to process them add a lot of clutter and move away from the simplistic approach of the previous creeper world games. at the same time the previously comprehensive upgrade system got completely axed and all you get now is basically "upgrade? yes / no" just why? changing how stuff works doesn't automagically make it any better. surprisingly catchy music though! while old fans like myself will still get loads of fun and enjoyment out of this one i think new players should either start with the very first creeper world game (because it's the first) or with creeper world 3 (imho the best game of the series!). you do you but before buying keep in mind there's a creeper world 4 demo to check things out first. however don't call me negative nancy just yet. there's a ton of maps and mods created by the community including puzzle maps, first person shooter (seriously!) and even playing levels as the creeper itself! for some players that may very well be even more appealing than the actual main game! finishing all main missions took 16 hours and a total of 18 hours to get 100% achievements unlocked. another 24 hours for various bonus missions added later to the game. back to my review of Creeper World 3: Arc Eternal: https://steamcommunity.com/id/Meister_Leuchte/recommended/280220
Control land mass and push back the enemy, Simple sounding but with a fluid based enemy and simulated on a variable height map the complexities add a new and enjoyable view on the classic control strategy. The weekly challenges kept me playing long after completing the story line and playing with and against my friends was a nice change as well.
It is a good game, but it is also a direct downgrade from creeper world 3 in almost every aspect, so there is no reason to play this game over creeper world 3.
