Command: Modern Operations is the next generation in cross-domain modern wargaming. It enables you to simulate every military engagement from post World War II to the present day and beyond. The scale is primarily tactical/operational, although strategic scale operations are also possible.

I am concerned that the NSA is being pinged every time I fire this game up. I can feel the NSA agents connecting anonymously to my Steam account and recording my game. I'm pretty sure that Tom Clancy's estate has direct access also to my PC whenever I start up this game. After I played this game against Syria and took down their forces and saved Assad's regime, I soon started seeing blacked out SUVs following me. Not only that, but I swear drones are constantly following my every move in New Jersey. I can hear them... see them.. feeeeeel them. This game... it IS just a game, right? I'm not ACTUALLY making decisions for our military, am I? Is this game really just an interface into WOPR at NORAD? I'm scared... I think Russians are watching me and using my tactics I've learned in this game.
Oh man, I want to like this game so much. I have absolutely no problem learning a complex interface, or painstakingly working my way through tutorials. But my big frustration with this game is the design and execution of the user interface. A hot, buggy mess. Buttons frequently give no feedback when clicked... did anything happen? Missions silently go awry if you accidentally hit the wrong key like 'b' for Return to Base. Rules of Engagement settings don't stick unless you set everything up exactly the right way. The Operations Planner tool is a big bag of WTF. This game needs one solid pass at a usability update, and it would rock. Until then, I think I'm done...

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This is not a game. This is a training simulator
No linux compatibility , 70 dollars. But best wargame ever.
I miss Harpoon. Problem with CMO is the UI is simply a mess. Unity is not the right engine for this type of game as its UI system is inadequate and does not provide a means for incorporating something like flash or some other much better UI development systems. I found myself continually lost in the UI and unable to get back to where I was with zero "common-sense" functionality you would expect in a wargame. There's also a lot of redundant/overlapping functionality which makes little sense. ATO overlaps mission designer but does not interact with it in any useful way. (for example.) Just too difficult to use.
The most detailed modern operational-level air and naval wargame commercially available. It still has a long way to go for plausibly simulating land operations, whether it's even achievable on the current engine. Clunky UI and the simulational realism of some of its systems is up to debate, but it's constantly improving and still under active development. As expected, whether it's actually a good "game" or just a toy for edgy dudes depends heavily on scenario design. At least the official ones I've tried are high quality and there's a plenty of fan-made content to dive in. Overall, well worth its steep price.
