Command: Modern Operations is the next generation in cross-domain modern wargaming. It enables you to simulate every military engagement from post World War II to the present day and beyond. The scale is primarily tactical/operational, although strategic scale operations are also possible.

Graphics Less than normal She needs to be game in good graphics and effect Make it look like Sea Power Graphic
Very steep learning curve and some prerequisite knowledge of military sop is required. After that it's like playing chess but with 1000 pieces instead of 32. Very fun

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Hello!
Needs a VERY big graphical update. More cinematics, kinda unreleased Modern Naval Warfare. Blips and partial soundbites don't do it for me. Even Shadow President 1993 had repetitive but entertaining cinematics. Or the $79 Tac View addon needs to step up its game. I don't get it, their DLC "cover" art and game ad splash screen shows nice graphics, why couldn't the game be like its "cover" art? World map need a HUGE update, Country names fonts and resolution are HORRIBLE, and the font color, UGH! I hope their not planning to keep it like its current state.
nothing else like it
this is truly the game of all time
because of the realistic comparison to what could happen in real life, and because i was on the tester team for the game. As a veteran i can relate to how things are done in the game.
Possible alternative titles: "The Last RTS" "DWARf Fortress" "Adobe Destructive Suite" Less a "game" in the conventional sense than AutoCAD for designing WW3, that luckily for us you can also play as a pretty cool RTS. Naturally it takes a lot of getting used to, and it could use some more mouseover hints, but overall it's a singular, satisfying, challenging, and fun experience that you should look into if you've got that itch to see more clearly how all those shiny pew-pew machines really do their thing. It genuinely does feel like 80 bucks' worth of sheer simulation complexity crammed in there, but unless you're *desperate right now* for that "giant wall screen in some kinda Doctor Strangelove bunker" experience, wait til it goes on sale and install it when you've got the extra patience to essentially re-learn how to play an RTS from scratch as if you were a grandma with StarCraft hearing for the very first time about right-clicking and drag-selecting (the tutorials are surprisingly good, at least as of 2023, but do need a bit of supplementation from YouTube in the form of general interface tips & tricks). A good example of the relearning necessary is the way movement orders trump attack orders (at least as I understand it so far). This is vitally important for helping to keep your limited supply of units from heedlessly carrying out suicide attacks, but can be confusing and frustrating if you're used to just right-clicking on the badguys and watching your unit immediately drop everything to go pounce on the enemy. Not so in "Command: Modern Operations"—No, units under your direct control (as opposed to being assigned to a specialty "mission" you've generated, which is a whole other control paradigm) will only attack if any active movement orders take them into proper firing parameters, so you have to either alter their movement orders to manually guide them to the right range and altitude, or wait until they come to the end of your movement order queue. It sounds annoying but you will come to appreciate how necessary this is on the exceptionally deadly and detailed modern battlefield, where things are often a one-hit kill and an airplane often needs to hide down in the hills "Top Gun: Maverick"-style out of sight of SAMs that look big enough to launch Sputnik, and ships may have to Hokey Pokey in and out of the range of some unholy land beast apparently made of cruise missiles. It's fun. Come feel like a Gifted Kid again. It's worth mentioning there's also something weirdly "cozy" about this game—Since the focus is all on painstaking simulation mimicking real-world behaviors and operations with very little eliding or artistic license (though no doubt nerfed a bit for the Home Version), it's not worried about keeping you stimulated and engaged with constant events and new plates to spin for the sake of it. If you like to play RTSes in a more leisurely way where you take a minute to admire the artists' work on the maps or imagine the lonely letters home your troops were writing before you moved them into position, and feel totally alienated when you see people playing them all sped up like some militarized Benny Hill clip while clicking furiously to optimize resourcing and building queues, then you might appreciate the feel of this game—Try putting on a podcast or audiobook or something in the background, making a cup of tea, loafing under a big fluffy blanket, and just appreciating the way things simmer for a while at 1x time acceleration (also try letting a battle run in realtime during a chore day for something to be excited about checking after rounds of cleaning). it can be pretty pleasant—Or it can extend the tension of fighter wings inching into each other's missile ranges even more.
This game is perfect for players who want a good challenge when it comes to commanding multiple units
