Good submarine simulator that provides just enough realism to make things tense. Highly recommend installing the DOT Mod if you want to get the full experience of 80s surface combat as well while we wait for War on the Sea to be released.

This is a great modern day sub combat simulator. It will test your patience and knowledge. You will learn tactics of naval warfare or you will not be successful. Anyone looking for a modern day sub challenge this is the spot for you!

best submarine simulation game ever played !!
Probably a common theme among people here; I played Atlantic Fleet and saw this game by the same Developer. Thinking it would be similar but with newer tech, I bought it. These games are not the same! Cold Waters is far more cerebral, patient and tactical. You have to become the hunter, not just the attacker. I've lost many a game by trying to launch Harpoon missiles at a ship, only to be depth-charged into oblivion. But when you get it right, when you stalk an enemy Sub or Carrier and your torpedo hits .. it is very satisfying. This is not a casual, easy game. It's hard, honestly. But if you're patient and willing to learn a thing or two about actual submarine warfare, then it's a great and rewarding game that I've only started to scratch the surface of in ~20hrs of play.
Fun, challenging at times and somehow gets you panicking when you get 10 torpedoes chasing you. Does it get repetitve after lots of hours of play? Kinda Do you want to lose your mind being chased by helicopters with infinite buoys? Yup Is it still satisfying to quietly sit and sink a whole enemy fleet? you bet
It really makes you feel like you're part of a real sub crew.
5 hours is all you need to fall in love.
This is a brilliant game, but need the mod though. Easy to get very nerdy :-) Proper sim, but expect to take time doing things.
