Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
About

Raise a city from the ground up and transform it into the thriving metropolis only you can imagine. You've never experienced building on this scale. With deep simulation and a living economy, Cities: Skylines II delivers world-building without limits.
Lay the foundations for your city to begin. Create the roads, infrastructure, and systems that make life possible day to day. It's up to you – all of it.
How your city grows is your call too, but plan strategically. Every decision has an impact. Can you energize local industries while also using trade to boost the economy? What will make residential districts flourish without killing the buzz downtown? How will you meet the needs and desires of citizens while balancing the city's budget?
Your city never rests. Like any living, breathing world, it changes over time. Some changes will be slow and gradual, while others will be sudden and unexpected. So while seasons turn and night follows day, be ready to act when life doesn't go to plan.
The most realistic and detailed city builder ever, Cities: Skylines II pushes your creativity and problem-solving to another level. With beautifully rendered high-resolution graphics, it also inspires you to build the city of your dreams.

AI and intricate economics mean your choices ripple through the fabric of the city. Remember that as you strategize, problem-solve, and react to change, challenges, and opportunities.

Cities: Skylines II lets you create without compromise. Now you can build sky-high and sprawl across the map like never before. Why not? Your city is you.

Your decisions shape each citizen's life path, a chain of events that defines who they are. From love and loss to wealth and wellbeing, follow their life's ups and downs.

Pick a map to set the climate of your city. These are the natural forces you'll negotiate to expand your city amid rising pollution, changeable weather, and seasonal challenges.

Reviews

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

There is something fundamentally unsetteling and unsatisying about this game. It's hard to describe, unless you have played it and are a fan of city building games. I am a huge city building game fan, so I have played many hours of this game, but there is a lot wrong with it. -The city growth effect isn't realistic.. a game "New City" had a much better growth model, and road laying model. -Graphics are poor, and building models are VERY poor. In the Sim City Series, the building models were pretty well done with a lot of variety. Cities Skylines game models are very, very poor, skyscrapers tend to grow to the same height, and they all look like grey boxes kind of.. like zero interest or effort was put into the building designs. - Nothing seems to fit will.. proportions of buildings are very strange with most parks being enormous and other things being out of scale. -No way to just "fill in a space" for parks.. parks don't feel like they are really a thing in this game except weird squares and circles you plop. -Dumb "Signature Buildings" that are kind of needed to be placed or your city won't grow much - No skyscraper growth animations Skyscrapers just "Appear" after a crane is there.. super lame. Skyscrapers growing is maybe the most fun part of a city building game. -Game "atomosphere" and lighting seems strange. - Game doesn't save almost any building models locally on your computer, so every time you load it takes forever to load the same crap. - Hardly any older looking skyscraper models in base game, or really even one good skyscraper model -IceFlake has fixed some stuff, but this game is fundamentally flawed, and not fun. I think the Cities Skylines series has been a bad thing for city building games in general, because they completely misunderstand what is fun about city building games.
Natürlich — hier ist die möglichst originalgetreue englische Übersetzung: English Translation Even 3 years after release, this game remains a massive disappointment. Basic bugs and problems have still not been fixed, even by the new developer. The entire game feels cold, lifeless, and unfinished. Annoying graphical glitches everywhere. Huge hardware requirements. You can only hear ambient sounds when you zoom in really close. On most maps, it rains almost constantly (the rain can be disabled with mods, but after 3 years, this is something they really should have gotten under control), and so on.... I can only advise against buying it. The predecessor is still a thousand times more fun than this. The sheer number of positive reviews is a mystery to me. Honestly, you should be able to get your money back for something like this.
Cities: Skylines II is somewhat enjoyable, and there’s definitely a good game underneath everything, but it’s becoming really frustrating. It feels like almost every update is just another new pack or DLC that you have to spend even more money on. Instead of focusing on improving the base game and adding meaningful free content, there always seems to be something else being sold. The other big issue is that to actually make the game properly enjoyable, you pretty much need a lot of mods. Mods improve so many parts of the game that should honestly already be better in the base version. I do enjoy playing it, but considering the price of the game, all the paid DLC, and how dependent it feels on mods, it’s hard not to be disappointed. The game has a lot of potential, but I wish there was more focus on improving what we already paid for instead of constantly giving us more things to buy.
Glowing façade, just kinda disappointing. A lot of needed improvements, QoL fixes and the inclusion of some of the first games DLC content into the base game. My biggest gripe is that the game feels so much less personal than the first one. Citizens fade in and out of existence, services like firefighters have no animations and the game lacks the different policies from the first game. It makes the game feel kinda shallow and boring to look at despite all the fancy pansy graphics. Not only that but they're STILL trying to milk you dryer than an AI data-center for their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ asset-packs and bum ass radio-stations. I could've said more about the things I actually liked but after 3 years they just don't deserve it. I'm HOPING that the new dev team can hold the game together. But for now you're better off pirating this or the first game with all it's 6 gazillion dlcs or just playing Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic. I'm so disillusioned with Paradox.
I tried CS2 at release via GamePass and it was just not in a good shape. Since Iceflake took over development it really has improved a lot. Sure it is not in a perfect state yet but good enough to recommend it for everybody who liked CS1 now.
for the love of ♥♥♥♥ paradox stop making everything yall put your grubby hands on so ♥♥♥♥ dont bother trying to use the mods, but dont expect them to add anything nice to the game, they just expect modders to do it but give you "paradox mods" instead of steam workshop which works 10% of the time. not worth nearly 50 pounds
Cities: Skylines 2 — THE NEWEST AND BEST CITY BUILDER EVER!! …sikeeeee. I wish. I really wanted to love this game. I mean, the idea is there. Build a massive city, manage everything, watch your little civilization grow, and eventually create the city of your dreams. Instead, I spend about 30 minutes playing and then find myself staring at the screen wondering what I'm supposed to be excited about. And let's talk about the graphics. MAXIMUM SETTINGS. Everything is cranked to MAX. And for what? The graphics honestly look terrible for a game that demands this much performance. I'm sitting here looking at my city thinking: "Surely this can't be max settings..." Meanwhile my RTX 5080 is sitting there wondering why it was summoned for a game that looks like it belongs on a very angry mobile phone. RTX 5080: “I was built for this?” Cities: Skylines 2: “Yes. Now give me your entire GPU.” This game somehow manages to make a high-end PC feel like it's running a mobile phone game. The graphics are honestly atrocious for what this game demands from your hardware. You'd think I'd be rendering the next Avatar movie with the amount of performance this thing wants. But nope. I'm building a city that looks like it was made in a microwave. The performance is probably the biggest issue for me. A city builder should let you build a huge, beautiful city and then sit back and admire your creation. Instead, I'm watching my FPS slowly disappear as my population increases. And somehow the game can be demanding AND boring at the same time. That's an impressive achievement. I usually get bored after around 30 minutes because there just isn't enough here to keep me invested for long sessions. The game has potential, but it feels like I'm playing a really expensive early-access tech demo that still has a LOT of work left to do. There are plenty of things I like about the concept, and I can absolutely see the foundation of a great city builder underneath all of this. But right now? It needs A LOT more work. Performance needs improvement. Graphics need improvement. Optimization needs improvement. And, honestly, the overall experience needs more things to make me actually want to keep playing. I'll probably come back to it eventually. Maybe after a few few few few more more more more updates. Maybe after my grandchildren finish college. 4/10 — Would build another city, if my computer survives the first one.
Would not recommend. It is a buggy mess, and on several occasions I have lost hours of gameplay when it spontaneously crashes without warning. A few things have improved since snowflake studios took over, but still, I would not recommend, even if you have a good pc. Personally, I feel like the game development team (and the bosses, etc.) are more focused on releasing paid addons to the game than improving a game that I find at the moment plain frustrating. However, I think the game can improve, and I hope to one day come back to it when it is playable.
As someone who has literally 3,900 hours in Cities 1, I cannot recommend this game. It is so buggy, takes forever to load, and often crashes. I want to be able to play this game so bad. It just isn't where it needs to be. This is the only game on my PC that struggles to load or even work at all. It's also extremely frustrating that they removed the Workshop on Steam to create their own workshop situation. Not frustrating because they made their own, but frustrating because it hardly works/loads. Very disappointing.
