Genuinely confused with the positive buzz that this game had. I mean, sure, it's a pretty game to look at but... that's it. Plot is confusing and nonsensical (did I miss something?), game is really short and tries to almost every segment of what the fps of the last 20 years have done (corridor shooting? Check. Stealth section? Check. Vehicle section? Check. Unnecessary upgrade system? Check) minus the obligatory turret section... And then there's these little details that are not really thought out. Why do I have to press the F key to grab ammo? And in the process, if I have full ammo, I'm just using the push ability. And since the ammo boxes looks similar, you have to mash the F button trying to get the ammo that you really want. In short, it's a really mediocre short game with pretty graphics.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game tries to do a lot of things and most of them, pretty well. It's easy to write it off as a cheap Call Of Duty clone, however, this has a lot going for it, and probably due to the gameplay and the presentation it reminded me more of Trepang2 (which is a cracking game)! The shooting is very very good, but also the melee - with an excellent parry - and a bit of everything else: wall jumping as in titalfall 2, double jump, grapple, power ups, slide, and even, a stealth level and a driving one even if they are probably the worst of the bunch. The graphics are great and it's well optimized. The plot and the dialogues - with the imperfect dubbing and at times not well synced subtitles - is very average, but at least it's not blatant propaganda like in CoD. It's very short as it took me 116 minutes to complete, but I had enough fun that I will surely replay it at some point on highest difficulties. Apparently this has been done by a solo developer, which I struggle to believe (so, dear Zeng, take it as a huge compliment if that's true!) and how can you not review positively such an impressive looking product. I have enjoyed it more than the latest few CoD which are developed by thousands of people with massive budgets!
Shadow Warrior
Gameplay is everything
Bright Memory Infinite is a sort of "sequel" to Bright Memory (more like a remake) where you fight in an supernatural world. Short game and weird story. But the gameplay... Imagine playing Titanfall mix with Devil May Cry: you have this game. The whole concept is the gameplay: it's dynamic, pleasant, smooth and responsive, with a large selection of weapons to try and some skins for either weapons and main character. The landscapes are beautiful, the weather is also quite well done and the designs of the major part of the game are wonderful. It even features Workshop Steam mods if you want to customize your experience as you like. The only real downsides in my opinion are the short experience (~5 hours) and the weird car sequence that I didn't really like. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2864823247 I recommend this game to anyone enjoying dynamic gameplay with pretty graphics. Best to take it during sales and to keep in mind that this game isn't suppose to attract by a story, lore or so, it's only design to make an interesting gameplay, a dynamic fight sequences with pretty graphics! BM3 When?
🏆 Achievements 🏆
Finish the game in "Hell" difficulty (needs 2 playthoughs) and features some slighty grindy achievements. A remake/reimagining of the original Bright Memory. I reviewed the first a lifetime ago (in 2019. The old and the weak are doomed...) and it was pretty mediocre. However, this is a much better realised game. The goofy pace breaking puzzles from that where you jumped on blocks or whatever are gone, though there's still some issues. Like the original, this is RAGE 2 meets Shadow Warrior meets Call of Duty Advance Warfare with a light dash of Devil May Cry thrown in. The combat system is pretty fluid and lets you experiment quite a bit without locking you into a specific playstyle: you can shoot, use your sword, throw enemies into the air and juggle them, drag them to you and make them explode, and so on. It's all very good and the hit feedback/enemy reactions/reload animations/etc. for everything related to the combat is appropiately meaty and satisfying and there's collectibles associated to an upgrade system that lets you unlock a few extra moves like a rocket punch. Unfortunately, while there's no dumb puzzles this time around, there's a forced stealth section a quarter into the game that is a complete bore. Thankfully the enemy AI during it is braindead and at most it shouldn't take longer than 10-20 minutes, but it still sucks. The combat in this game is the star of the show and it reminds me of the new Wolfenstein games where you wonder why they thought it was a good idea since it's not why you are playing the game at all. It should've been straight up removed and only seems to exist to slightly pad out what is a 2 hour game. The story is also complete nonsense. So nonsensical that I thought it had to be a sequel to the original release and I did more work than anyone should and actually watched a playthrough of that to see if it was and no - like I said before this is a full reimagining/remake. The writing in this is basically tuning into the second season of a TV show with not knowledge of the first with characters already knowing each other and concepts being namedropped without any explanation. Even after two playthroughs none of it made any sense. You are a perfectly coiffed out of place young anime girl in a gritty word and you work for an organization that may or may not investigate dimension hopping/paranomal events. The bad guy also supposedly knows you from previous encounters like a saturday morning cartoon villain and wants a device that will let him rebuild the world or something. There's another bad guy from the Other Dimension who says he'll tell you who he is but nothing ever comes out of that and typing all this is already tiring. It's like playing the follow up to something that doesn't exist. While the cutscenes are thankfully rare and incredibly brief, there's a really pointless 2 minute intro that you can't skip when starting a new game. Once again, not too bad, but this is a fast paced 2 hour game and that should be skippable (none of the cutscenes in the game are). Still, this is a game that remembers that an FPS should be mainly about fun combat with satisfying hit feedback (something that a lot of AAA and indie shooters forget), so for that alone it's easily worth a playthrough or two if you like fast paced shooters.
It is a very fun game, I just think the 20$ price tag is too steep for how short the game is.
Let's talk about bright memory infinite, a super underrated solo developer game that deserves way more recognition. The gameplay has so much variety ,you’ve got both a sword and guns, and combining them feels incredibly fun. The parry system is also really satisfying to execute, and the variety of weapons you get keeps the combat fresh throughout the game. Sure, the game has flaws. The hardest difficulty, “Hell” mode, is honestly a joke and barely feels challenging, and the game itself is way too short since you can finish the campaign in under 4 hours. But despite that, the fast paced combat, smooth movement, and flashy action make the experience amazing overall. I genuinely think everyone should give this game a try at least once.
