About
Ever feel like the world doesn't understand your talents? Mae is a rabbit-eared genius programmer, able to manipulate reality with a few keystrokes or - the more fun option - blow up large swathes of reality in one of her custom-built Devices. However, genius is never understood in its own time, and she's provoked a severe response from the environmental group "Blue Revolver". Command her defiant counter-attack over 5 stages of manic struggle, blast through hordes of enemies and go face-to-face with fearsome bosses.
DOUBLE ACTION OK! - After a long time in development, our much-awaited DOUBLE ACTION update has been released and is available to all players!

5 stages of heart-pounding struggle. Snowy mountains, hectic dockyards, nightmare bases and more...
Three playable characters, and 12 special weapons to choose from! Blocking bullets, clearing crowds, carving up bosses or milking points - the choice is yours.
Adaptive difficulty system - the game tailors its difficulty on the fly to your skill level. Or if you're weird, pick Parallel mode for a glimpse of the most the game can throw at you, including a "nice" surprise at the end.
Missions mode - 25 single-stage challenges allow you to build up your skills before going for the full clear! Take on strict survival and scoring challenges, or deal with slightly stranger things - experimental weapons, annoying giant bullets, remixed bosses and more.
XP-Mode - Score to level up! Unlock and master a set of oddball superweapons!
Flourish for high scores! Build up short chains and finish them off with the special weapon for big points. Score BREAK bonuses by picking apart bosses and big enemies in difficult ways.

The game seems pretty good at first, but the game is FILLED with extraneous particle effects that you cannot disable. The game developers thought of letting you set custom bullet colors and dim the background, but not disable the MOST IMPORTANT THING for bullet legibility: lack of moving distractions. It is almost impossible to pick out bullets when the entire screen is fully of flashing, blinking particle effects. I find myself dying not because the patterns were difficult, but because I literally cannot tell where bullets are on-screen. The developers have put in animated, noisy particles which seem specifically designed to attract your eye's attention away from bullets. It makes me wonder whether the devs even playtested this game. They somehow realized that bullet color and background dimming settings were important for legibility, but not the thousands of flashing, blinking particles??? are they stupid???
legibility options aren't the best but still clear the majority of this stupid genre by their pure existence. they made a fast-bullets danmaku game that i can ALMOST look at without issue. fun bosses, stages are interesting enough (which makes them 1 billion times better than most bullet hells) and the abundance of resources given for taking scoring semi-seriously makes it feel like an approachable thing to push for a 1cc if so inclined

A very good shmup that keeps me coming back to improve my score
Good shmup, recommended!
It's impossible to play this game with too many bullets
The best modern shooter I've played. While difficult in the traditional Cave-style way, Blue Revolver also takes the time to show new players the ropes. For casual fans, beating the game on any difficulty feels like an achievement, while the dynamic Hyper Mode promises a greater challenge for those who want to be pushed hard. Also packs fantastic art and music, along with several different modes to provide variety. Blue Revolver: Double Action is the complete STG package
Sweet game, it's way too hard for me and I love it for that. Whatever the updated hours you see now on the review - I still probably haven't beaten the game yet lol
This game feels as fresh as it does familiar, inspired by the greats of the genre without feeling derivative. A brilliant entry point for anyone wanting to start their bullet hell journey and a damn good time for the already initiated. The controls are tight and intuitive, the visuals are gorgeous, the soundtrack slaps, the scoring system is compelling and cleverly tied to survival, and the amount and quality of extras and options is unreal. This was made with love by people who love shoot 'em ups. 11/10.
Fantastic shmup with really helpful tutorials to guide you on how to play properly without handholding. Players of different skill levels can set different goals so it's both ideal for genre beginners and high skill ceiling for veterans. Great scoring system that incentivizes aggressive but thoughtful play. Amazing replayability with 3 playable characters all with different special weapons. Stellar audio and visual design. Short campaign so can be played in short bursts.
