About

This is the game you have been waiting your whole sick life for. Experience what has been called "the most realistic gore system ever" in Raid, Sandbox and Arcade combat modes. Take on the role of a heartless killer for hire and see why Blood Trail has come to be known as "the most violent game in VR".
You are Wendigo. A hard-hearted contract killer tasked with annihilating a fanatical cult.
Built from the ground up for VR using proprietary character physics and gore systems, Blood Trail offers an unprecedented shooting experience not for the faint of heart.
With realistic gun mechanics and medically accurate damage effects, you will have no margin for error as you use your pistol, shotgun, rifle and fists to become the last man standing in this nightmarish and brutal scenario.
Did we mention that this game features the world's first virtual crack pipe?
Early Access to Blood Trail gives you several ways to satisfy your unhealthy, violent urges:
Raid -- battle across 9 huge handcrafted trails that end in semi-dynamic outposts full of people to murder.
Survival Mode -- stack the bodies high in 6 unique arena style maps where you will face an onslaught of enemies in a fast-paced shootout.
Sandbox -- Abstract environments for soothing, stress-relieving violence.
THERE'S A LONG TRAIL AHEAD!
The full release of Blood Trail will feature a story driven, single-player campaign with infiltration style missions as well as huge shootouts and quiet moments of terror. You will get to know Wendigo and the fanatical members of Neptune's Vow and encounter plenty of surprises along the way....
Blood Trail is just getting started. We are very early in development and will be improving EVERY aspect of the game:
More arcade mode maps
More evil things to do in sandbox mode
More weapons
More enemy types
More ways to murder and maim
More drugs
MORE VIOLENCE!
There is also an experimental branch where you can test out cool upcoming features before they make it to the main game!

this game doesnt suck ♥♥♥♥ and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥
The gore and pain reactions are fun, but the player model's interactivity weren't reactive enough, which got old quickly for me. The gun responsiveness felt bad compared to Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades or even Bonelab's annoying overly physics dependent wobbly body pulling the model's IK/arm. The movement is sharp. But the recoil recovery was a slog. My model's shooting hand/s kept getting dragged up where my real hand isn't and won't come down for a good second. Thought my headset's tracking was off for a bit. Not a good feeling. Reloading as well, that magazine pouch needs to be visible at all time. It keeps going on and off on its own because of detection issues, making the sustained encounters very unreliable. For the gibs, the fun bit for this particular simulation, it needs more tools. Saw blade launcher, Crossbow from Half-Life 2, HE or Incendiary rounds from Dredd (2012), a minigun, a mining laser, a taser, a cluster bomb, a razor-scattering bomb, etc, or something alike. Then it needs a setting to change their death-damage threshold. They die too quickly. It is my fault for having a bad habit of aiming for the heads all the time. But still, thought it'd be fun for a few more minutes if the guy with half the brain still trying to get up and fight me. The gore looks great. They just never move when it's there. The AI reaction time is too fast when they know where I am, such as during a Hoard Mode, which is the only mode I've enjoyed. My reaction time is between 190 to 210 ms (which is fairly standard for people who'd look for a reaction time test, about 50 ms faster than average human, about 50 ms slower than professional competitors), and their reaction felt several times faster. I dare say they turn and shoot near instantaneously once I'm in their line of sight and they were already alerted. I'm tanky enough that that's still easily winnable. But I can't say just tanking their gun shots to experiment with their pain reactions are immersive or satisfying when I know I'd probably look worse than their waddling crow food. Not fond of how it heals, which is via smoking something, which is done by holding a lighter and a stick in a certain posture. Aside from reminding me all the bad experiences I had with any forms of recreational smoke, the posture felt too corny for me. Just give me a pill bottle or let me eat the gibs. The environments look pretty good to me, usually the buildings. I'd play those 5 minutes of environment demo just to see what these places look like if this was one of those. The mission ones were too long, though. Mostly empty and repetitive. Never figured out how to run, or if I could or not. It's very slow going anywhere, killing the pace. I'd like to be able to move at least as fast as them. I heard there hasn't been an update for over a year. Mayhaps becoming a tech demo? It's pretty good for that experience, especially the NPC ones. Just not for $20 at this point.
